1  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / [Caution] Beware of fake websites using acrylic alphabets on: July 08, 2025, 09:54:27 PM
Be careful of any website that you use frequently or you're using for the first time, there have been occasions of cloned websites but it's not been taking note of most of the time.

If you go to codeacadamy.com you can learn how to clone websites for free and this has raised alarms for people in Nigeria as hackers or scammers have used this opportunity to create fake web domains that look exactly like the usual website using them to compromise your devices and get informations or hack into your accounts.

Bank websites are the recent victims of this clone websites in Nigeria, for example Ecobank, United Bank of Africa etc, I brought this up because I know we use this banks or our families do so we have to educate them to be very careful before visiting a website.

Here is an example of how this works.
1. They use acrylic alphabets like (ãåáâàā, ìîíï, úù, óòøō, éèēêë), in place of real alphabets in a place where it doesn't look obviously to users hence we consider it legitimate without second thoughts.

2. they use this type of strategy in a popular website that people visit regularly, like Amazon etc, for instance they use spell Amazon.com like this Amázon.cøm or something similar.

In conclusion let's be guided in website that we visit.

2  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Real privacy exist in bitcoin yet not many knows. on: May 10, 2025, 05:45:33 PM
I saw a topic that says, "Who says BTC has no future "

Then a known man called Eugene Fama was mentioned as one person who doesn't think BTC has a future.

This topic made me remember something that happened last year.

I am a businessperson that deals in cash and has a good relationship with the tricycle riders around my business area.

Most of these people give me cash to deposit for them, while sometimes I ask them for the cash.

There was this Hausa man I spoke to about cash; his response kept me mute and questioning.

I told him to give me his cash at the end of the day so I can help him deposit it. For a good saving method, which I think was actually the best for him.

His response was, "I don't use banks."

How? Why? How do you manage your finances without saving them in a safe space...? He smiled at me and said, I know how to manage my money. I don't like banks because of their wahala, and I can package it down to North.

I was surprised, but that's the truth. He is actually living his life without believing the bank is the best place to save his money. While more than 90% of the people around him believe the bank is the best, he is living his life as free as he wants.

So people believe in what works for them.

People still go around  believing in bank compares to BTC
Without the knowledge that BTC can help them become as free as they want, just as this man carries cash around.

Cash is deflationary, and BTC is increasing in price.
3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / [Curiosity made ask] Why the limitation in bitcoin just 21 million? on: September 24, 2024, 11:55:27 AM
While one OP created a thread about how Bitcoin will take over the global payment word in the future, and I tried to understand that Bitcoin itself is limited to 21 million only and its increase is not even certain, which eventually might end up with a yes/no answer. And it's going to take more than some decades to change from that.

So curiosity made me ask why it is limited and why more can't be made before those decades. I'm just a beginner with little to no knowledge about bitcoin technically.

5  Other / Politics & Society / [Discussion] Family decision towards kids upbringing. on: April 10, 2024, 10:42:16 AM
In regards to how society has made women believe they are more supportive of their men and work to be productive financially,.
I believe women should be at least 70% involved in the grooming of kids.
At least their work should be regulated to give the kids more space.
Maybe working at home will add to the office work. Men should also create time for the kids, but basically, women should be available.

I came across some wealthy homes when both parents were running this productive financial race to give the kids the best life. In this process, they do not have the attention of the kids as much as they should, and kids grow up with different nannies that has different impact and this impact is usually negative hence such a kid might end up being corrupt.
6  Other / Off-topic / Is there a place for medical discuss? on: March 12, 2024, 11:49:48 PM
Hello everyone,
I created an account on this forum a few days ago. I have been going through a few posts on beginner and help topics in other places like Bitcoin discussion, economics, politics, and the rest of them, which is quite interesting, but there is something I was unable to find. Maybe I was not looking well enough. This is a place where everything about medicine is being discussed, as that’s also an area of interest for me. I will love to share and learn from people who are also in the same field as me. Aside from crypto knowledge, I believe a lot can be learned here in this forum.

If there is any such place, I would like someone to point me in that direction.
