1  Economy / Digital goods / [WTS] US Steam $50 code on: April 27, 2014, 02:52:38 AM
$45 USD worth in bitcoin according to bitstamp price at time of transaction. Use of IRC is preferred (AshleyWaffle on #bitcoin-otc on freenode) if you lack a reputation, we can find a middleman

I have a poor OTC rating as I have lost a few keys in the past and also past drama but I will NOT make you go first. We can either find a middleman or I'll go first depending on your otc rating.

3  Economy / Marketplace / Hyperion Investments - making your bitcoins work (selling 9500 shares) on: August 16, 2011, 08:07:57 PM
I wasn't sure where to put this thread - I figure it goes here...

Present list of activities we'll be participating in:

* CFDs on various real world commodities and such using bitcoins in place of other currencies: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Contract_for_difference

The trading/investment log: https://docs.google.com/document/d/19L5pcnT6pxn2CIli_y1egyt3oYNAy-59A1hOeAlNW-o/edit?hl=en_US

Initial price per share: 0.05 BTC

In order to purchase shares please make a post on this thread. The fund wallet will be kept seperate from my personal bitcoins - there will be no mixups.

Also I'll accept having someone trusted hold the coins for me and making the trades I request using them... Please make a post here if you are interested in this role.

Share purchases/sales will be recorded on the Google Docs page - I will also make a spreadsheet soon.

On request, I will post an example chart I made of the Dow Jones Industrial Average.

About the actual investments the fund will be making: I will use the Elliott Wave Principle, a form of technical analysis, to make CFD trades. I am fully educated in the art and science of wave counting using the wave principle, however this is my first go with actual trading so I have no trading history to post. So this is a risky investment but the rate of return should be high should it be successful. Please give me a try,

PjWaffle
4  Economy / Services / Looking for work on: August 10, 2011, 09:50:08 PM
Anything really, as long as it pays!

I don't really have experience with anything, seeing as I'm 15.

So I hope I can find some work!

I do have some experience with technical analysis however (analyzing price trends of stocks/bitcoins/etc.)

6  Economy / Trading Discussion / How is it even possible to make money as a currency exchanger? on: August 09, 2011, 12:35:38 AM
Let's say I had 100 USD to start a currency exchange. So let's say I make a forum thread exchanging gold, silver, USD, and BTC. But then it hits me! If everyone wants BTC, however how can I get the BTC to give them without buying it from another currency exchange!?

Basically my point is, being a currency exchanger requires using a currency exchanger unless I misunderstand something (I think I do, so I'm curious how this works).

Discuss.
7  Other / Obsolete (selling) / Beatcoins - Startup album: StrongElectro (Heavy Electronic Dance Music) on: June 11, 2011, 10:49:03 PM
BeatCoins is me and a friend's startup record label.

Selling our first album.

The price for this album is 0.0333 bitcoins.
There is no DRM or license, share with your friends if you please (please don't post it publicly).
These are all remixed or created to have a heavy electronic beat... It's like death metal for geeks :3

It's rare to find all the good DJ Amor mixes on youtube because it was removed like yesterday. (Navi G's channel) But they're in the download so yeah.

Here's a sample song (they're all similar to this.): http://min.us/mvjpHxl

Email me at starquestnerd@gmail.com for more details.

Also, the archive is in 7z format, the song format is mp3, the archive size is 125MB. (sorry for the big size... there also happens to be 18 songs.)

9  Bitcoin / Mining / HyperPool - The pool that pays you to mine! (Idea, with server available) on: May 08, 2011, 02:13:32 AM
OK, here's my idea.

1. You setup the pool as usual... (poclbm, etc.)
2. You are paid based on what returns you generate.
3. The pool sells some collective mining contracts, I might allow a vote to be placed for the larger contract deals!
4. You're paid a little cut of the contract profits (proportionate to how much you mine) AND how much you mine!
5. Epic win Smiley

I have a nice VPS available, 2GB ram, etc.

Can someone explain exactly how a pool works in plain english? (Which maybe I can then convert to Python or something).

Furthermore, I might release the code open source... But only after a certain amount of donations have been recieved. (This is long term, after I actually have something)
10  Economy / Marketplace / Trade stocks, commodities, currencies without owning them (with bitcoins) on: May 03, 2011, 12:19:37 PM
The base for my idea is the CFD (contract for difference)

It's basically an agreement to send the difference in price of a given market to the person at the time of expiration (basically).

I have two extensions...

1. Multiplying the change when people feel like it
2. Enable the trading of them without margin by putting a cap on how much the CFD can move, even if the stock/currency/commodity moves more!

Why is this better than options or other derivatives?
1. The payment is sent AFTER the CFD expires based on whether the change in the underlying is positive or negative (so sell if you bet on negative, buy otherwise) - aka no scams
2. Great leverage can be applied, but without margin due to a cap on change.
3. "External" markets can be traded without

Penny for my thoughts? 1Cb4bpRooE7Q7xc4YEx48fuCNjZ8QwncMM

Thank you so much for any donations, I'll use them to provide (or purchase) these contracts, and to come up with more ideas!

14  Economy / Marketplace / BitFutures (An unfinished, web/desktop based futures/options trading platform!) on: April 29, 2011, 10:47:04 PM
I paid my friend some bitcoins to work on it, so it WILL have development go on! (not just be another give-up project)

Link: https://github.com/pjwaffle/BitFutures

We're ONLY looking for developers right now because it isn't finished... I might offer 0.5 bitcoins for every major contribution to the project, but maybe not.

Wiki might be helpful, as well as just browsing around! Tongue

15  Economy / Trading Discussion / Looking for someone to give me an ability-based test on Technical Analysis on: April 24, 2011, 12:21:26 AM
Parameters:

1. I use support/resistance, support/resistance trendlines ONLY. (with the occasional volume or MACD glance for confirmation)
2. I want the test to be as hard as possible
3. I want the test to have a quantifiable grade (eg. 77.9% or 100% (hopefully Cheesy)).
4. The test should be based soley on ability, NOT knowledge.
EG. When would you trade and not trade this stock. (stockcharthere)
5. You must be an experienced technician.
16  Economy / Marketplace / Looking for a trading platform provider including margin, etc. on: April 23, 2011, 09:47:32 PM
If this is a stupid request please state why, and how I can improve it!

I only have 10 bitcoins, but I need margin so that I can get some more leverage.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Margin_(finance)

I also need a nice trading platform that interfaces with mtgox.

What do you get, I'm sure your asking? I'll give you a 50% cut of the profits.

OK, so the next question must be am I experienced?

Well the answer depends on what you classify experienced so I don't really have an answer for that question.

The final question is how do I pick my trades and know when to exit?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Technical_Analysis

I'm looking for at least 1:10 leverage on my bitcoins. (negotiable)

The trading platform should be able to automatically close my positions should I lose too much.
17  Economy / Marketplace / [FREEService]Helping people analyze any stock! on: April 19, 2011, 09:57:09 PM
