1  Bitcoin / Mining / Complete Guide To Mine Bitcoin on Xubuntu 12.04 on: May 20, 2012, 09:43:01 PM
Firstly, Iíd like to thank Kanoi, who wrote an excellent howto guide on ďHow to setup a cgminer using xubuntu 11.04 live on a USBĒ. However, I donít need to mine on a USB (itís slow compare to a HDD). Also, his guide didnít update with the latest version of Xubuntu (12.04), which in my opinion is the easiest version of Xubuntu ever to mine bitcoin with.

Althought to mine on Xubuntu 12.04 is relatively easy, there are still some pitfalls I want to you to avoid, so I wrote this guide.

For the latest version, please visit the following address:

4  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / [Help] A bitcoin balance checker by day on: October 16, 2011, 03:00:43 PM
Dear all,

I'd like to write a tool in python that can collect the balance of an BTC addr by day. So that I can display the progress in a line graph.

I would like to ask help for:

1. How do I collect day-by-day balance from blockexplore? For example, I need a function that can return the following information to me:

(Original information from http://blockexplorer.com/address/1HEmzeuVEKxBQkEenysV1yM8oAddQ4o2TX)

Date, Time, balance
2010-10-9, 09:10, 34.9
2010-10-10, 09:15, 36.9

2. How do I convert them into a rrd file?

I've searched on the net and I found a tool called pyrrd, have you tried to use it to convert data into a rrd file?
5  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / bitcoin price from 5 -> 11 in 1 week on: August 14, 2011, 04:13:53 PM
Remember a week ago we're panic about the falling price of bitcoin? It hits 5 dollar then. Now it is back to 11 dollar now.

If you buy at 5 then sell it at 11, your asset would be efficiently doubled!
6  Other / Beginners & Help / Which pool should I mine for about 1.1G/s? on: August 05, 2011, 05:21:36 PM
Hi all,

I've setup a rig with 1.1GHash/s and are now mining at deepbit (PPS mode), which returns with 0.53 BTC /24 hr.

I wanna ask your opinions for:

1. Which mode returns higher BTC? (Should I switch to Proportional mode? Or continue using PPS mode?)

2. Are there other pools that can return me more than 0.53 BTC / 24hr? (I mine at deepbit simply because most miners are mining in it.)
7  Other / Beginners & Help / PSU Watts for 6990*3 ? on: July 31, 2011, 10:48:42 PM
Hi all,

I just got 3 ATI 6990. Since their Watts usages are very high, how much watts should the PSU have?

I've just thinking about a 1200 Watts PSU, but according to the wiki, should I buy a 1500-Watts one?

8  Other / Beginners & Help / Very slow transfer, please help! on: July 31, 2011, 06:55:11 PM
Hi all,

I've been setup two wallets to test if the bitcoin transfer works. The following are the transfer details occured in 7/29:

http://blockexplorer.com/tx/f5e211ae964e7d518ec1e3f5febb3c42357461eda4b6ac8e8363f0000237e3b6#o0
From: 1P6KMP6PwaZYVhXHEh9FTqDrWUjUuboSsX
To: 1GbsaPxTRqtLVsbhe6bZSDCzhyKZnfoTDQFK
Total BTC in: 0.011
Transfer fee: 0.0005
Total BTC out: 0.0105

Three days had gone, my wallet still didn't show the bitcon transferred in (0.0105 BTC).

Is there anything I've missed? Or transfers in bitcon network is really that slow?!
