1  Other / Meta / Will moderators merge these two topics? on: November 25, 2015, 09:57:55 AM
Today when I surf the Beginners board, I see two threads with nearly the same name (just differ by a question mark) shown together:
1. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=179418.0
2. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1163283.0
And the only difference is the thread was from 2013 and 2015.
What is the criteria for mods to merge two topics like that, or just let them be?
2  Other / Meta / So many spam accounts created in October on: November 03, 2015, 11:08:47 PM
Today I have extra time to see the modlog, and see the latest member ID is at 631k! I've remembered that the number was about 560k a month ago. Then I've searched the forum stats. I found that 68832 accounts was created last month, which is the all time high as of now, while the pageviews/new topics are about the same as before. Then I've searched for some 'good' numbers, like:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=600000
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=590000
And I've searched for adjacent numbers:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=590001
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=590002
And found that they are created within seconds and with almost the same name! Mods please handle them!
3  Other / Meta / Satoshi Discussions on: October 12, 2015, 10:50:40 AM
Lately I've seen plenty of threads about Satoshi, some are in 'Bitcoin Discussion' board,  some are in 'Beginners and Help' board, and some are in 'Off-topic' board. Those threads bin Beginners board asking who satoshi is are fine, however some of the threads in 'Bitcoin discussion' board went off-topic.
Also as the threads are spread in different boards (I've even seen a thread about satoshi in altcoin boards), people may found it difficult when doing research on satoshi.
So I'll make 3 proposals here. Please vote or express what you think about this.
1. Add a 'Satoshi Discussion' board as a child board of Bitcoin Discussion/Off-topic/Beginners and Help
2. Move all of them to off-topic/Bitcoin Discussion
3. Keep them as what they are now
4  Economy / Reputation / Should I delete my positive trust given to scammers? on: October 08, 2015, 12:48:56 PM
So as the title. I have left some positive trust ratings to proven scammers, before they started to scamming people. I then left neutral trust ratings once I found them starting to scam people.

Should I delete both the positive and neutral rating and change it to a neutral/negative one, or just let them be? Please give some advice.
5  Other / Meta / Reputation board? on: September 18, 2015, 10:27:44 AM
I have seen that though the Reputation board out here for a long time, though there are very few posts there, probably just one to two, or even no posts within 1 day. What is the use of that board for now? We already have the trust system, which have almost exactly the same use as that board.
So, should we just archive that board, or just keep it as it is? Please vote.

Hi everyone, I'm quite bored of my current avatar, and I want to change it to a new one. So, I'm buying some extra choices for me to change that.
The new avatar should include:
1. My current design (the bat)
2. A bitcoin (e.g. )
3. My username (optional)
4. Anything else you think it's great to include (no ads please!)
I'm offering the following amounts to the winner, 1st runner-up and 2nd runner-up, and to at most 10 satisfying designs:
1st: 0.012 0.013BTC +tip
2nd: 0.005 0.006BTC +tip
3rd: 0.003BTC +tip
4th-13th (if the designs are OK): 0.001BTC +tip
Others: Tips (maybe none)
I know the amount isn't big, however the job isn't quite hard. Post your designs, along with your address here. I'll close the competition by the end of September (if I got enough designs), or by the time when I got 3 designs later than September.

Rules can be changed by me anytime, with a change log here. (I won't decrease the prize amount, though).

P.S. Is the service board right for this? I'll move it if this is not right.

Tips pool: BTC0.001358
You can donate to either this donation pool, or send coins to your favourite design directly if you like. The donation address is 12gZLSpe4BHaDeSQ4SMqb3a2xprJ2FxUUa (the address will used to identify the donated funds only, and I could spend the output as other uses. However, the coins in the tips pool, which includes my signature income, will stored in either my addresses, or in other sites, and I'll payout the amount in the tips pool separately from my other addresses).

Tips history: 0.009 to 9 of 11 participants as of 2015-09-06: https://blockchain.info/tx/1adab8b53828c2379e0e3fd2d019f4a640cb323c5c6c1e8eeb0bc22313f1e7d9

7  Other / Meta / Suggestion: 'This user's email have been changed recently' on: August 28, 2015, 02:25:24 AM
So, we have 'This user's password have changed recently', and it can help us spot out some sold accounts/hacked accounts. However, for security reasons, normal users may want change their password frequently, but when they're making a deal, then no one would trust him even if the person had trust here.

However, other than sold/hacked accounts, we won't change our email in the normal case. Thus, when a email change is made, we should trade with extreme caution with that user. This is same as the password change warning, but it is more accurate.

What do you think? I personally support this (or I won't suggest this). Please vote.

Edit: I can't add a vote here (solved, just can't see it at the beginning), so please express your opinion here.

10  Economy / Digital goods / [WTB] $10 Google Play gift card - $10.50 bitcoins offered on: August 05, 2015, 12:27:38 PM
As stated in the title, I'm buying a Google Play gift card which worth $10. I'm willing to pay 5% more than the amount, which make the total amount I'm willing to be pay be $10.50. Since I'm out of bitcoins right now, I'm not buying any cards more than $10 (except you can sell for lower Smiley). Escorw is accepted, but I'll not pay fees of more than 1%. You may also go first if you trust me enough.

Update (7/8): Closing this as of now. Will reopen when I have more BTC.
11  Other / Meta / Deleted posts within deleted topics on: August 03, 2015, 12:15:40 AM
*Ok, this question is (quite) for signature campaign's payments, which based on post counts.

I have made some posts in some topics, however, when I check my post count next morning, it falls. When I check my posts, I found that some of them are deleted, but I don't receive a PM on this (normally when a post got deleted, we'll get a PM concerning that). Can the forum notify those who got a post deleted because of this?

Thread for previous round: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1116881.0

Full refund if post count < 25

2. You may resell the space to signature campaigns, other persons etc. I won't accept signatures and other things that broken my rules.
3. If there is nothing to sell in a round (due to bids to 4 consecutive rounds), I'll not make a thread for that round and just skip it.
13  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / The biggest single tx in the world? on: July 11, 2015, 12:43:02 AM
Today I've seen this tx: https://blockchain.info/tx/9fdbcf0ef9d8d00f66e47917f67cc5d78aec1ac786e2abb8d2facb4e4790aad6
It have almost 1,000,000B in size, have 7350 inputs of 1000 satoshi, paying 0.0735 as fees and have zero output. However this tx occupied the whole block 364773.
So strange?

15  Economy / Service Discussion / CAUTION: blockchain.info wallet don't let me login to my wallet on: July 07, 2015, 01:59:57 PM
Here is my story:

I've signed up a blockchain.info wallet months ago and I've been using it for no problem. At one point I've added my email to improve my security, however since that point I need to confirm my email before EVERY login. Yesterday I'm still doing this with no issues. However, when I tried to login to my blockchain wallet today, I don't receive the confirmation email even for submitting the login form few times. However without its email, I can't login to the wallet and hence I've lost control of 2 empty addresses which I haven't backuped.

Fortunately I've got a backup of non-empty addresses from them a week ago. Then I could still have control of my addresses, and having no loss in bitcoin. I don't recommend everyone using blockchain.info wallet.

Also a noob question here: I have private keys (in both compressed and uncompressed formats) and wanted to import them to another wallet which allows me to sign message. Can anyone give me a suggestion on this?
16  Economy / Lending / Need loan 0.015 BTC NO COLLATERAL on: June 22, 2015, 01:08:46 PM
I am lending 0.015 BTC and offering NO COLLATERAL.
Details:
Amount: BTC0.015
Length: 7 days or sooner
Repayment amount: BTC0.02
Thanks!
17  Economy / Service Discussion / Standard format for selling accounts on: June 17, 2015, 01:58:53 PM
I've seen many people trading accounts here, however there are so many formats around here, and some of them are missing essential information, like providing signed message, or the trust ratings of the account. Then I'm suggesting this format here to prevent confusion and prevent spammers to gain post counts by making such 'remainder' posts.
Code:
Rank:
Posts:
Activity:
Date registered:
Sign message from 3-month-old post:
Trust rating:
Banned before:
Additional information:
Starting bid:
Minimum increment:
Buy it now:
Example:
Code:
Rank: Sr. Member
Posts: 500+
Activity: 270+
Date registered: September 2014
Sign message from 3-month-old post: No
Trust rating: Neutral
Banned before: No
Additional information: N/A
Starting bid: [btc]0.20
Minimum increment: [btc]0.01
Buy it now: [btc]0.30
(this is the example of my account)

What to put:
Rank: The account's rank, i.e. Newbie, Jr. Member etc.
Posts: The amount of posts the account have made. It is recommended to round down the number of posts to protect your security.
Activity: The activity count of the account, also recommended to round it down for security reasons.
Date registered: Only show which month it is. Revealing the date will probably reveal what the account is.
Sign message from 3-month-old post: To prove that the account is not hacked. (myself can't provide a signed message from 3 months ago because of using wallets don't provide a signing function, but the account's seller should)
Trust rating: If the account is negative trusted, then the value of the account will drop. Put Positive/Neutral/Negative here.
Banned before: Yes/No (if the account was banned, then it maybe in some blacklist here, and hence higher risk of being banned again)
Additional information: Put what you want to put.
Started bid: The price in bitcoins or fiat.
Minimum increment: The minimum price increase between bids.
Buy it now: The offering price that you will sell it now.

If you are going to sell it without auction, then modify it to:
Code:
Rank:
Posts:
Activity:
Date registered:
Sign message from 3-month-old post:
Trust rating:
Banned before:
Additional information:
Price:
Negotiable:

What to put:
Price: Simply the price.
Negotiable: Whether you can go for lower offers. Put Yes/No.

Hope the forum mods can accept this and this can keep the forum out of some spammy posts.
18  Economy / Digital goods / [WTS] Bitcoin Android Wallet Backup File on: June 13, 2015, 02:35:44 AM
I am selling an android wallet backup file with a private key having a balance of 205812 213849 227380 satoshis. Also the bitcoin address still have active referrals at moonbit.co.in and coincheckin.com site dead, and still generating small amounts of bitcoins.
I am selling it because I can't spend the bitcoins in it and I can't extract the private key in it (see https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1079189.0 for reference)
You can verify the balance of the address in the backup here: https://blockchain.info/address/1BtN1wMTpQ9BR5cjr67h2WEvLhbJF9eQ14 (and also the referrals in that two sites)

Price: BTC0.00185
Delivery method: Email or you mention it
Escrow accepted, but any fees should be paid by buyer.
Update 22/8:
Selling this on satoshibox, link= http://satoshibox.com/55d0a7e412fb6dc5498b4573
Price increased to 0.00185 because the address have more balance (227380 satoshi) now.
If you see a payment to this address: 1PaDW4ZbJnDV9Ua2G8RzuVikehnk8YdwxT, then don't buy it because it means that it is already sold.
I can sign message of that address, and sign the signature with my main address 17sy7mX9t8CsnYM39bs4pQ3aVtgeanyu63 (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=996318.msg11388957#msg11388957).
19  Economy / Lending / ---el kaka22's testnet bitcoin lending--- on: June 11, 2015, 05:50:01 AM
*I don't know whether it is the right section to post this, please correct me if I am wrong.

--- el kaka22's testnet bitcoin lending service ---

I've got some testnet bitcoins recently and I decided to share them for free!

If you'd like to apply, please follow this format:

Amount: (max 150.01 per application)
Testnet address: (the address you want the coins be sent to)
Length: (no limit, but please return them)
Collateral offered: (it is to prevent spamming and scamming, the coins are for those in need. If you don't return the coins I will sell the collateral)

You can return the coins at most 0.01 below the original amount so it is no worry about the transaction fees (for special cases I may consider them case by case).
20  Other / Meta / Is these 'bitcointalk' sites real? Or all of them are scam sites? on: June 10, 2015, 02:18:22 PM
When I search some threads under this forum in Google, I always find some results in the  following domains:
http:// bitcointalk. xyz
http:// bitcoin-forums. net
(spaces added to prevent accidental clicking in those sites)
Are they official sites which host exactly the same contents as bitcointalk.org, or they are scam sites?
