21  Other / Off-topic / Extention to augment Amazon links with my Affiliate Tag on: March 30, 2012, 09:50:27 PM
I have an Amazon Affiliate link that's sitting around, doing not much of anything, so would it be kosher by Amazon's TOS to have a chrome extension, greasemonkey script or what have you that auto-magically diverts all Amazon outbound links through my affiliate address, and how would I pull that off in Javascript?

http://www.amazon.com/dp/product/[Product ID]/?tag=[Affiliate Tag]

I'm thinking it should be easy to do a look replace, but can someone do some hand holding and point me in the right direction? My java-fu is weak.
22  Economy / Goods / [WTS] US Stamps - Interest Check on: March 30, 2012, 06:22:15 PM
Stamps are about $.45 a piece to mail a first class letter, who would be interested in stamps starting at .1BTC a pop, that you could be sent to you in a PDF and you could mail immediately afterward? Anyone intrested or running this service?
23  Other / Off-topic / How to *help* a small business on: March 26, 2012, 07:19:56 PM
Hey guys, a new second hand game and electronic shop opened up where I live, and while they have the trickle in of customers, the occasional phone repairs are their bread and butter, as they currently buy back nearly as many items as they sell. So, outside of the "dur, you should take Bitcoin!" concept, how else does one promote a small business?
24  Economy / Trading Discussion / Google Checkout/Amazon Payments to accept BTC for CC? on: March 21, 2012, 07:47:02 PM
Originally made this post for Square before I realized they didn't have anyway to allow users to make payments online. Roll Eyes

So, if we want another Paypal service that allows merchants to take Credit Card payments, why not try Google or Amazon's engine?
25  Bitcoin / Project Development / Wikibot that rewards edits on: March 20, 2012, 02:46:54 PM
So I'm looking at something like this (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=70036.0) to aggregate content into something similar to a Curriculum that would allow the user to get the equivilent of a college course, complete with guidelines and schedules instead of just giving you the firehose of data. One of the ways of gathering the data is a Wiki, so I was thinking about if it was possible to develop a Wiki Crawler that gave out microbits or litecoins every time a significant and helpful edit was made to a page. YMMV on helpful, but it should probably have some sort of guidelines to prevent edit spam for run and profit.
26  Economy / Services / Open Syllabus [Bounty/Fund] on: March 20, 2012, 07:40:19 AM
So between iTunes U, Open University, the Khan Academy, and the entirety of the Internet, we have a lot of data to work with to smart ourselves with, but no real way to organize it into anything practical. I want to start a wiki or something in order to get all of these Podcasts and such into one place, not just to aggregate them together, but to get it sorted out to the point that you could get the equivalent of a Independent Study Credit, take a CLEP test, or otherwise skip out on a college course you would already know about. In short, the data's out there, and I think we should try and shape it into a decent curriculum, and I'm willing to start an instawallet and toss a couple Bitcoins/Litecoins if it wasn't a good enough idea as is.

Edit: If we decide to go with a wikia, I got a sister concept that should be looked at as well. (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=70067.0)

Nevermind. Chalk this up on the archive pile.
28  Economy / Speculation / Since Bitscalper seems to be in a bit of a rut... on: March 14, 2012, 05:00:59 AM
Could we feasibly start up an cross-exchange trading group on our own? No bots, just people taking shifts. Investors pour BTC in, we give whatever we got back out with a 5% cut or so?
29  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Fun with Cuda on: March 12, 2012, 06:34:48 PM
Using an Alienware m11x (OG, GT335m), and it seems that Open CL is not working despite a clean driver install from NVidia, downloading the Cuda kit, and then reverting to Dell's official switchable driver. It's also messing with Folding@Home, so I'm pretty sure it's not any specific miner. Help?
30  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Crazy Concept with Bitcoins and Receipts on: March 09, 2012, 09:59:16 PM
Coins a pain in the butt to deal with, being dirty, easily misplaced, make your wallet go all funny, and pretty heavy in aggregate.  So what if you could make a cash purchase at the drug store, and instead of getting $.82 in change, you get a QR code on your receipt that your phone can scan and put that 82 cents towards your next purchase at Amazon, iTunes, Moneypak, Paypal, Mt. Gox, etc? Not quite a Bitcoin product since it would be on a long list of affiliates, but I thought it would be a decent idea to kick around, and I figured I go here first cause I'd rather have you guys snatch it out from under me than Coinstar.  Tongue

Simu-post from here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=60744

15 Radio Shack Card
$20 Best Buy Card
$25 iTunes Card
One of each.

Looking for Gox Certificate or BTC Proper, equivalent value OBO. Just want to offload some Christmas stuffs that I wasn't quite interested in.
I can send you the physical card or PM you the magic numbers, although as fair warning, I did scratch the scratch part to double check the balances.
On the Best Buy card, it's only good for non-marketplace items, so you might want to keep that in mind.

Regarding reliability, I haven't done much trading on #bitcoin-otc, but I do have an established ebay page and bitmarket.eu account, for what it's worth.

34  Economy / Goods / Random Vinyl Records for 1 BTC a pop on: November 05, 2011, 01:02:44 AM
Hey, testing the waters on marking stuff with Bitcoin. Wanted to set up my own website, but this is easier.  Got a bunch of my grandparents 33 LPs from the '40's to the 80's that aren't all major market fetchers, but still kinda cool. If I sent you a random one for 1 BTC a piece + another to ship them, would any of you guys be interested?
35  Other / Beginners & Help / Wanna start a Bitcoin Business properly, help. on: August 14, 2011, 04:15:28 AM
So, I want to start a website where I Buy/Sell/Trade physical goods for Bitcoin, mostly because the guys on Pawn Stars make it look awesome, and because I have a lot of books, vinyls, old games, and electronic bits and do-dads to get rid of, and if it makes me a better entrepreneur, then that's kinda cool. Maybe even buy/sell Amazon credit, but I haven't decided if there is enough of a demand to leave that sort of trail.

Anyway, the point. I want to know how I am supposed to run this thing without tripping something or other on the legal side. I'm in the States, and know about the whole lawn mowing analogy, but the wiki wasn't very helpful on what to do if I wanted to start a personal trade, and what paperwork to jump through to not be running what amounts to a black market. Anyone want to throw me a bone on tax law?

BTW, I'm thinking a tumblr for hosting with a private domain. Not in expert in web presence, but that seems sufficient, right?
36  Other / Beginners & Help / Alienware M11x - 11MH/s - Is this right? on: August 10, 2011, 09:01:00 PM
Hey guys, I new to this end of the internet, but I wanted to ask if I'm using a stock Alienware M11x, with a NVidia GT 335M, 4 Gigs of RAM and a Core 2 Duo, should I be topping out at 11 Megs a second? I got some pretty good hustle on Folding@Home, and I've heard of people getting into the 40 Meg ballpark with this model. Is there some secret sauce I'm missing?
