1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Skycoin: good entry point or buying into a scam? on: July 04, 2018, 12:34:17 PM
After the very strange incidents that happened on the Skycoin community, with the founder allegedly simulating being held hostage mixed with missing funds, the market crashed like no other.

https://www.coingecko.com/en/price_charts/skycoin/usd

Click on he all time chart, and you will see how it's pretty much near all time lows.

As it bottomed? opportunity to get in very cheap before the next big x100 pump? Or buying into a scam that will keep going down slowly? Discuss.
2  Economy / Speculation / There's no point in re-testing $1300 on: June 29, 2018, 12:52:38 PM
I see some analysts hinting to $1300, this is bullshit and nonsense, there's no point to it. If you are a whale capable of moving markets, pump the price as soon as we hit $4900 and start the next cycle for an all time high, this autistic obsession of needing to re-test former resistances by technical analyst nutjobs (hint: Tone Vays) is total nonsense and unnecessary. Just make it bounce from $4900 and we'll go from there, it's enough of a good re-test to start the rise to $100k

3  Economy / Speculation / $10,000,000 by 2028 on: June 26, 2018, 12:26:04 PM
That's right, im making the prediction. In 10 years Bitcoin will have a marketcap of several trillions. Most fiat sitting in dumb places like bonds, derivatives, idiotic stocks, easy to counterfeit metals such as silver and gold... will be sitting on the capital B blockchain.

We'll go parabolic in ways never fathomed before. After we gross the first million barrier it will open Pandora's box. Minds will be blown, everything will become possible. Anyone not holding wealth in Bitcoin will have their goods at constant systemic risk.

Go all in and hold.
4  Economy / Speculation / Massive shorts liquidations, $millions in losses as Bitcoin moons on: April 12, 2018, 02:20:36 PM
Wow, just look at this:

You can follow the Bitfinex bot here:

https://twitter.com/bitmexrekt

The fact that people are stupid enough to short Bitcoin at any rate never ceases to amuses me. Why would anyone be insane enough to short Bitcoin? you are sitting on cutting edge technology 10 years ahead of the curve, all you have to do is literally accumulate on each dip, sit back and get rich as fuck long term.

Please guys, stop doing drugs, and stop shorting Bitcoin, for your health's sake.
5  Economy / Economics / George Soros "getting ready" to trade cryptocurrencies on: April 07, 2018, 04:37:16 PM
George Soros is reportedly getting ready to start trading in crypto. Now, I wonder what the hell does that mean. Soros is a multi billion dollar player... it's not like the markets are liquid enough for him unless he wants to stay with Bitcoin only, the rest of the coins are a joke as we all know, so I assume his biggest position would be Bitcoin.

Will he be trading futures or the actual asset? does this bring us closer to an ETF since the SEC would sure like to see huge players trading an ETF and not Bitcoin itself? (so they can manipulate it better..)

What impact do these George Soros news have on Bitcoin?

https://www.cnbc.com/2018/04/06/soros-fund-reportedly-preparing-to-trade-cryptocurrencies.html

The news say it will be through his investment fund, but we don't know what they will be doing exactly.
6  Economy / Economics / "Bitcoin's true value the cost to mine one" on: April 06, 2018, 06:21:14 PM
Why do some people think this is accurate?

The cost to mine 1 BTC varies a ton depending where you are at, so this would mean if you are from China the cost will be cheaper than in Canada for instance, but this is not all. There are many other variables.

So you would need to create a global average I guess, but even then, how is this accurate?

Bitcoin is a viable substitute for gold, but just better. How could 1 unit of Bitcoin be only worth it's cost to mine one (which by the way I think it's around the current price) when it's marketcap is so tiny?

It's insane to assume that you have to wait until 2140 to reach "the moon". Bitcoin's features are the same irrespective of how many halvings away we are from that. The cost of mining one doesn't reflect it's true value. The hashrate is strong enough to be as safe as it gets to use a store of value. If anything, it shows me that it's insanely undervalued.
7  Economy / Speculation / Bitcoin will never reach $1,000,000 again on: March 25, 2018, 04:14:32 PM
In the style of ohter posters, I want to reserve myself this thread, which im sure will be eventually epic. I believe we'll see the $1,000,000 mark around 2030ish, and after that we'll go back to 6 figures, in which people will start creating threads like this one. Then after a while, we will go for all time high, and this thread will be very relevant, until then..

RESERVED.
8  Economy / Speculation / Trade wars to bring Bitcoin to 100k on: March 24, 2018, 04:19:44 PM
Trade wars have an impact on the global economy. It doesn't matter where you live, when the heavyweights of finance (US, Europe and Asia) are involved, you will see an impact on your local economy as well since everything is interconnected nowadays.

Bitcoin is no different, the Bitcoin price is subjected to what happens at the geopolitical table, and since it's a neutral global asset, it should go up. So while we have Trump screwing around with his trade wars, we can benefit by holding Bitcoin and watching the fireworks on the sidelines as countries print more money. We should be going to 100k in the following years as a result. Forget about coffee with Bitcoin, this is where Bitcoin will shine.
9  Economy / Speculation / Who is adding funds to the MtGox address? on: March 22, 2018, 06:37:06 PM
https://blockchain.info/address/16rCmCmbuWDhPjWTrpQGaU3EPdZF7MTdUk

This is the infamous "MtGox address" that people have been monitoring to guess how much the trustee was selling. As you can see, the last "sale" or at least the last withdraw from that address was a 3000 BTC transaction a couple of days ago:

https://blockchain.info/tx/10e9472239c7ce6ca70de831a570c03254f61c9e3f463e2a0c6b28d0f63b8aae

But as you can also see, there are a bunch of smaller transactions. This month, I've counted 28 transactions which added small amounts each. Why? who is adding coins in there? shouldn't this address become eventually emptied after the idiots managing this disaster sell to give the money back to creditors? (which is stupid since creditors should be getting their bitcoins back, not sold and in fiat)

Anyway, why these transactions?
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Poswallet to Stakenet migration on: March 20, 2018, 03:44:38 PM
I successfully completed the migration of half of my POSW holdings. I sent them from cryptopia to Livecoin the other day, and now I checked and they have been converted to XSN.

The question is: How do I convert the other half? The POSW markets are frozen on Livecoin so I can deposit my coins on there... their twitter says tomorrow is another round ("The next coin swap will be March 21st on Livecoin.")

https://twitter.com/XSNofficial/status/974979083221258240

This means that they will open POSW tomorrow so I can send it from cryptopia to Livecoin again? or I should have sent them already?

When will I able to convert my remaining POSW to XSN? please help, I think it ends on May 1st.
11  Economy / Economics / They are manipulating the Bitcoin price throught ponzi-paper money scheme on: March 19, 2018, 01:44:17 AM
Noticed how gold, silver and other assets like uranium started crashing right when the CME futures started?

Now compared to Bitcoin:

Remember this guy?

The powers that be are manipulating Bitcoin suppressing it's price since they can print as much fiat as needed to keep it down. The Futures is the Wall St goons section where they get them trying to control the market participants expectations. Their goal is to frustrate potential buyers through this and get holders to dump, triggering avalanches through media FUD as well:

The hope: Bitcoin is different to any other asset they've had to deal with in the past. This is a war of epic proportions at play as we speak. Buy the dip, long term they can't win. Let them keep printing money, see what happens.
12  Other / Meta / "Incorrect recaptcha" on: March 17, 2018, 11:57:00 PM
Im sure we Tor users are well aware of the "Try again" message after completing the recaptcha and generally trying a bunch of IPs's until you get one that isn't banned, but im getting a new one that I don't remember ever getting before...

After successfully completing the recaptcha clicking all the damn cars, roads and buses and what have you, I finally get the green checkmark, then I press login, and I get this error:

"An error has occurred!
"Incorrect recaptcha."

That's all. And this is a forum error btw, not an error within the recaptcha's box.

Any ideas in how to get around this and why it is happening? my take is that you are unlucky enough to get your Tor node's IP changed right after completing the captcha, and the forum gives you that error..
13  Economy / Speculation / User sjefdeklerk is spamming FUD news on: March 16, 2018, 04:37:23 PM
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;threads;u=1474678;sa=showPosts

This is ridiculous, similar to kwuckduck insanity but with even less effort, at least kwukduck is hilarious.

This is exactly how a bitter panic seller looks like. These guys obviously sold the bottom, and are now trying to get the price as low as possible to get back in. Luckily, they have no weight in the market... I don't know why they even bother spamming these FUD news.

Just ignore the FUDsters, we are going to all time high this year, buy the dip.
14  Economy / Speculation / Literally everyone FUDding Bitcoin just wants to get cheaper on: March 11, 2018, 07:36:47 PM
I can sense the salt in the air. Notice how everytime Bitcoin pumps, you get an army of people saying "we are going lower". These guys have been watching the price since August (remember in August we were at 3000 and already voices of "it's going to crash" were being heard). A lot of people sold in August, and watched the rally to $20k on the sidelines. These people are now extremely SALTY at the fact that they missed the boat, and don't get fooled, no one thinks Bitcoin is dead and no one thinks the shitcoin being usually promoted by these guys is the future, they just want the price to go down to buy cheaper.

Everyone telling you that Bitcoin is going to stagnate now forever or that this or that shitcoin will take over the #1 spot is a scammer that wants your bitcoins for a cheaper price.
15  Economy / Speculation / I believe the dumps are over on: March 09, 2018, 04:54:10 PM
The MTGox trustee should know by now that he is the most hated man on Bitcoin. If no one has told him already, he must have seen some news.

If he doesn't stop, he is going to end up dead. I don't think Bitcoin $billionaires are enjoying this shitshow. So I think from now on he is going to go OTC as he should have done, unless Nobuaki Kobayashi wants to keep gambling with his life for god knows what reason.

I predict that the next week we will see some kind of official statements of sales going OTC. The market must take around 48 hours to digest these news and a bottom will be called. Buy the dip as usual.
16  Economy / Speculation / Time to buy on: March 07, 2018, 04:54:11 PM
It's that time of the year again: Retarded noobs panic selling because they saw some irrelevant news, be it some shitcoin exchanger hacked, be it some idiot holding a lot of bitcoins and selling, or be it anything else: it's time to buy the dip.

You can thank god or whatever that we are seeing sub $10k again. Once the obligatory retardation that happens every so often it's over, we'll be back up. Remember, limited supply, permanent demand for a decentralized uncensorable digital gold = price can only go up long term against scams such as any fiat ever.
17  Other / Meta / Donation button (LN) on: March 03, 2018, 08:00:12 PM
What do you think about the idea of adding a button to give a member an amount of bitcoin as a way to thank someone for a helpful post? this will also incentive higher quality posts along with the merit system to rank higher.

Maybe it's not viable now, but thanks to payment channels, I envision a future in which one can click a post and donate an small amount through LN. You would post your channel in your profile and the forum would automatically route the donation through it. Donations and amounts will be shown just like the merit amounts. This will be another way to stimulate the bitcoin economy and help LN adoption.

Do you love it? do you hate it? and why.
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Anyone holding XSN (Stakenet) formerly known as POSW (Poswallet)? on: March 02, 2018, 03:24:27 PM
I think this coin is going to moon hard. Just bought some more on the dip. Looks like a lot of people decided to sell when the transition from POSW to XSN started... maybe they didn't like the fact that is being done only on Livecoin exchange? I think that this is a bit weak myself too but im still holding, Stakenet is looking really nice for the medium to long term. I think in a couple of months people will dream to buy in at 4000 sats.
19  Economy / Economics / Hal Finney already knew BTC had the potential to be $10,000,000 a coin in 2009 on: March 01, 2018, 04:14:46 PM
I was reading the cryptography mailing list looking for early bitcoin posts and Hal Finney did some basic calculations and already realized that bitcoin had the potential to be worth $10,000,000 per coin back in 2009. Imagine being this woke that early in the game:

Very impressive insight. And not only that, but he actually never panic sold. Now his family will be very well off for all generations. Meanwhile a lot of people weren't able to see past USD price movement and didn't look at the project for what it is, this made most people sold during the $30, $300 and $1200 bubble. The people that know what bitcoin is haven't sold a single sat since the beginning.
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Is the rate of hardforks decreasing? on: February 28, 2018, 06:25:57 PM
Someone has statistics on the rate of hardforks? I think that it's going down. I remember many, tons of hardforks during last christmas. Nowadays 3 month later, I've barely seen any hardforks, other than Bitcoin Private.

If there hardforks happening, they are too irrelevant to get any press... I think the hardfork hype is starting to die out unless you can prove otherwise.

Once the hardfork hype dies out what's next? I think eventually there will be an exodus of hardforks and alts and everyone will sell for BTC.
