1  Economy / Digital goods / [EBOOK] The Land of Tomorrow (self-published) on: December 21, 2014, 02:38:50 AM
Hello Bitcointalk members,

I am publishing, as an e-book, a self-published novel that someone I know wrote, and has asked for me to distribute for Bitcoin. While this person doesn't have a great deal of writing experience, I've enjoyed recently reading through it. The plot involves a character alluding to Putin, and second to Warren Buffett, while a third is a person that in modern terms might be considered a self-educated "dork" or "geek". It's got some good parts, some bad parts, and involves technical aspects that are practically preposterous, but it still ends up being an OK read.

1 USB at current exchange rates gives you the book as a PDF, EPUB, and MOBI. There's a sample available at https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B_6FxMYglQCxRVRCVTlKRkgwZUk/view?usp=sharing.
If you'd like to get a copy/send me comments/complain/etc, please PM me.

Thanks!
2  Economy / Services / Blender rendered designs and Java programming on: December 03, 2014, 10:01:05 PM
Hi, I'm offering here some of my Blender skills. At the same time, since Blender's scope is so huge, I'm also regarding this as a learning opportunity for myself.

Here is some of my previous work:

  • This video is a roller coaster I cobbled together in 2 hours as an extra bit for a class project using path tools. It has some issues that I could fix if I put a bit more time into this design. The material setup is also incomplete, but sufficient for the purposes of that project. Render time about 10 hours.
  • This is a single frame of a 3d animation that I made for a friend. The lettering spins around the "tail" of the S. Everything is raytraced, as you can see in the background. Render time about 10 minutes per frame.
  • This image is a 3d modeled kitkat-like candy for the OnePlus community (invite-only phone manufacturer). I can stamp most shapes into the chocolate, and onto the wrapper. I didn't spend enough time on the filling so where there is a broken kitkat, the wafer inside doesn't look very realistic. More time would have helped greatly. If you look carefully, the wrapper is crumpled somewhat-realistically in the back. 1080p, render time 1 hour, I think.
  • This is a backdrop for a Youtube channel to replace an older hand-drawn-and-scanned version (that I don't have, unfortunately). Uses photorealistic raytracer with glass materials. 4240x2348, render time over a day (on an older, less-efficient version and a slower computer than the rest, and due to glass).

If you want to use any of my examples, they are licensed under Creative Commons 4.0 Share-Alike. Feel free to use them as you see fit. If you appreciate them enough and decide to use them, feel free to send a tip over to 1EYhYbBKRSM85EaoUbgQmnCwQerQWL99so, but note that you are not at all required to do so. I can provide the source Blend files for these for a small fee. PM me.

If you want me to create something completely new, PM me with a few details and I will work with you to determine if it is feasible, and the price for it. I'm open to using escrow, or I can send first for trusted users. I can do both both animations and still images. One skill that I admit I am lacking is organic modeling (of people, and the like).

In addition, I am offering Java programming. I have studied Java for a few years, and have a Stack Overflow account with over 17K reputation from Java-related answers. I can do small to medium jobs (due to my current timing constraints). I'm experienced with Java SE for standalone (console, GUI, or daemon), including threading, networking, data storage, and security, and somewhat knowledgeable with Java EE.
3  Other / Beginners & Help / Becoming active in Bitcoin again on: November 30, 2014, 04:42:06 PM
Hello!

I've decided to re-join the Bitcointalk forums after selling my account and becoming inactive a few months ago. You might know me as user "rarkenin". If anyone has any real need for me to prove that I had control of the primary bitcoin address I listed before on my old account, I can do that, though I'm planning on starting with a clean slate and +0/-0 trust at this point.
