21  Economy / Speculation / Looks like we are going to test $1,300+ on: March 03, 2017, 11:32:56 PM
Bitstamp tested $1298 some hours ago. Interestingly for some reason, it's higher than the Bitfinex peak at $1294 (bitfinex always has the higher price for some reason)

In any case, looks like we will test the barrier again, we'll see what happens.
22  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / What is the best way to go in and out of BTC without going throught fiat? on: February 27, 2017, 06:05:00 PM
For example, you want to sell a small amount of BTC, then wait for a dip, buy back more BTC, and this without having to give all of your personal details to an exchange in order to deal with fiat.

So im looking at 2 options:

1) BTC to USDT
2) BTC to high volume alt (ETH?)

That's all. What else is there?

It's just for small and quick movements, so I think I will not bother with even getting the USDT or alt out of the exchange, even tho I will be paranoid for the couple of days that im out of BTC tho, holding it converted in something else in Poloniex.... so i would like to have the ability to withdraw locally too

anyway I would like to know how to do this.
23  Economy / Speculation / 1139.9 resistance broken, 1142.2 hit (Bitstamp) on: February 22, 2017, 06:26:09 PM
Looks like the double top was broken, bullish trend confirmed and continues, any further dips are irrelevant, ATH is now unavoidable, after the ATH gets broken there will be no breaks, moon and jupiter and any possible known planets will not be an accurate indicator of the next big pump. Shorters will die in the attempt. Get ready to take off, party has not even begun yet.
24  Economy / Speculation / Spectacular bitcoin performance. on: February 16, 2017, 06:49:30 PM
Bitcoin keeps outperforming every other asset on earth. It's amazing to see how the price is going higher, leaving back the OkCoin price. Currently in Bitcoinwisdom:

Bitstamp 1037.31

BTC-e 1026.938

Bitfinex 1042

OKCoin 984.19/6747.1

Wow!!! 53 dollars of difference already. Bitcoin is no longer waiting for china. Im sorry chinese guys, you need to hurry up and get your money out of that country, start stacking up on bitcoin by buying on other exchanges. Bitcoin waits for no one. ATH incoming.
25  Economy / Speculation / kwukduck's schrödinger cat on: January 29, 2017, 04:02:58 PM
The many dead cat bounces of kwukduck!

The cat has died so many times, that this must be schrödinger's cat himself. When will the next dead cat bounce thread happen? make your bets.
26  Economy / Speculation / Don't fall for the chinese scammers trying to make you panic sell on: January 19, 2017, 01:28:47 PM
The chinese are using the PBOC as an excuse to crush the price and short and use all the panic sellers on their advantage.

How do we stop them and fuck them up? easy, don't panic sell when they release more PBOC messages. If they see that they can't manipulate the price with those PBOC messages,, they will try to stop shorting and they will start longing pushing the price up.
27  Economy / Speculation / $1000: New floor? on: January 05, 2017, 11:42:08 PM
Looks like people start getting really nervous when $1000 hits. It starts rallying, then it corrects, and after it goes below $1000, the people that still hold no coins or shorted/sold above $1000, start buying it back and it hits $1000 back... looks like a solid resistance is being formed around $1000. This would be good. Once bitcoin demonstrates that it can recover from such a massive crash and keeps getting $1000 the new psychological floor will be stablished at that value. It would be good if we can spend a couple of days going up and down around the $1000 spot.
28  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / I've read somewhere in 4 years the blockchain will be 700GB on: November 01, 2016, 03:58:16 PM
I remember reading this here the other day I think, and it was at a 1MB blocksize rate.... I would guess that in 4 years maybe the blockchain has been increased, at least doubled.

Anyway, let's imagine it doesnt, and we stay at 1MB.... what do you think the price for 700GB will be in 4 years? If things don't change much, it means running a node will take almost an entire HD (let's say the usual HD size is 1TB).

What happens once the size goes beyond 1TB, or beyond the biggest HD? what happens when you can't fit the blocksize in a regular HDs? Can you run 3/4 of the blockchain then the remaining 1/4 part in another HD?
29  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / How hasn't the OneCoin scam been stopped yet? on: August 26, 2016, 05:31:28 PM
This seems like your typical ponzi shit that is promising to be literally "the next Bitcoin". How are those idiots making so much money from ever bigger idiots and no one is doing nothing to stop it? All the people investing in Onecoin should be buying Bitcoin instead...
Anyway, I guess not everyone can be saved.
30  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / ETH Foundation was basically caught trading stolen coins in exchanges on: August 12, 2016, 04:12:39 PM
http://cointimes.tech/2016/08/12/etcdao-stolen-coins-frozen-by-exchanges-was-sent-by-ethereum-foundation-developers/

What's even more pathetic is they try to give any explanation towards what seems obvious: They were about to dump ETC for ETH, but Poloniex became aware those are stolen funds and froze their coins.

I don't get how ETH is still alive after so many fails and scammy behavior.
31  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / All the whales are in ETC now on: August 01, 2016, 05:28:44 PM
BTC whales are in ETC fighting against the ETH blockchain. We will win and we will make some money doing it. Come support ETC to take over ETH. Bailoutcoin chain must not survive. Once ETC is stablished as the only Ethereum BTC price will continue climbing.
32  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / The only and ONLY way that Ethereum can survive is throught ETC on: August 01, 2016, 04:35:27 PM
Nobody is going to trust making smart contracts in Ethereum anymore after the bailout precedent. The whole point of smart contracts is that the code is the law, but Vitalik broke this fundamental principle by allowing a hard fork like this to happen.

Now the chain that remains immutable (ETC chain) is the last hope for Ethereum, this is why a lot of people is supporting it. As the price goes higher more people from ETH will accept defeat and move on towards the common sense chain. I don't care what the price is doing right now, in the end ETC has to win. ETH will always have that "Bailout Coin" vibe attached to it forever unless they go ETC and let ETH die.as the disgrace it has become for the crypto community.
33  Economy / Speculation / Just 1000 blocks away from halving on: July 03, 2016, 01:04:56 PM

It's going to be great, I can't wait to see what happens in the webpage, I hope that im still awake and im not sleeping once the last block is mined and the halving is complete. Don't forget to check the webpage to see what happens.
34  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Did ETH exchanges get stopped? on: June 18, 2016, 11:55:25 PM
Vitalik Buterin made a thread on Reddit hours ago claiming that he wanted exchanges to stop all ETH trading from them. In Poloniex, I never saw this happening, when I checked the ETH was still getting traded.

So did trade stop at any time? withdraws stopped? anything?

The fact that Vitalik wanted this is scary enough tho.
35  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / What happens if Trezor's hardware gets updated? on: January 11, 2016, 05:56:13 PM
Let's say they release a better hardware version, and yours get updated... now you feel like you are using deprecated hardware. Should they send people that already bought the original a new version for free? or are you supposed to buy new versions every X year? I have my doubts of this being ethical, but business is business I guess.
36  Other / Meta / Random untrusted negative trust by some guy because I didn't agree with his view on: January 10, 2016, 11:10:43 PM
I just got rejected to enter a sig campaing because the guy that runs it said that I have negative trust, which is false, unless you take untrusted negative trust seriously, but it's even more annoying when the guy that sends you this valueless untrusted negative trust is a guy that actually has real negative trust and has been accused by a ton of people of being a troll that sends untrusted negative trust to everyone that doesn't agree with his views:

Trust:    0: -0 / +0

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;u=381190

As you can see I only have this by him, and he has this:

Trust:    -8: -3 / +0
Warning: Trade with extreme caution!

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=309759

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;u=309759

So I can't believe how unfair this is to me, that a random person ruins my account to enter certain sig campaigns only because the guy that runs it decides that every single negative trust counts even if they are untrusted and from trolls... something needs to be done.

What's even funnier is I don't even agree with what I said back then, I used to want a fork for bigger blocks and nowadays I changed my view. But it's still stupid that people can do this to your account only because you politely disagree in a discusion.. its just insane.
37  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Why do people still send BTC to the genesis block address? on: November 16, 2015, 01:13:58 AM
https://blockchain.info/address/1A1zP1eP5QGefi2DMPTfTL5SLmv7DivfNa

As you can see, there are 999 transactions into this address which is the first ever as far as I know, so this address has basically 66 BTC that are frozen forever. What's the deal?
38  Economy / Speculation / Wences Casares (XAPO CEO) - Million Dollar Bitcoin on: November 09, 2015, 02:01:25 PM
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zGlRs9NhI2Y

This guy gets it. With Bitcoin its all or nothing, a very asymmetrical investment. We either go to 0 (and this looks less and less likely daily as the technology develops and gets acknowledged worldwide) or we go to 1 MM+. Just do the math, a little bit of fiat and a little bit of gold (let's remember Gold has trillions invested) can make the price skyrocket.
Hold long term and win, or get kicked out in the ups and downs along the way. Your choice.
39  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Has anyone seen the Google Donation Popup thing? on: September 16, 2015, 09:50:58 PM
I was going to search something on Google and this thing at the top appeared (like the blue bar that asks you about accept cookies). A grey bar appeared. It's basically a donation thing for the Syria crisis. They have already donated 2 million dollars out of 10 million goal. I instantly thought about Bitcoin. Could we do a donation thing for this too? If the Bitcoin community surpassed 10 million dollars, the headlines would be great, and we do need positive headlines. We need the average Joe to know that Bitcoin can be used for good things too, this may be a great opportunity to shine.
40  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Does runnin a node in pruning mode count as a node? on: September 06, 2015, 06:25:23 PM
If im not mistaking in the next version of core we will be able to run a node in pruning mode, so that's 1GB of blockchain only.

My question is if it count as a node, and what are the differences of not running a full node, in terms of security etc, what are you compromising in exchange a faster download of the blockchain? because im tired of downloading stuff everytime I open the wallet but I dont know at what% it becomes less secure if you run prune mode.
