22  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Coming Soon! impossible to steal wallets on: October 27, 2011, 02:25:00 AM
Im creating an application with a great programming professor who's an expert when it comes to encryption and file access protocols.

Soon it will be impossible for anyone to steal your wallet, with full backup options with the ability to backup the encrypted versions to my secured dedicated server with tape backups.

With the latest bitcoin application, although you have to type a pass phrase to send funds, this really isnt that secure at all. If someone was to use a trojan to steal your wallet, its dead simple to use a keylogger to record the password. My software will make it impossible for the wallet to be accessed by anything other than the real bitcoin software.

How much interest would anyone have with this and how much would you pay for something like this to protect your funds?

Quick update:

It will also come with notifications and blocking of any applications trying to access your wallet or interfere with the wallet protector or any of the bitcoin files.

24  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Mass panic buy when reaches $1? on: October 19, 2011, 12:59:54 AM
Will everyone panic buy the coins when the prices get lower?

I am thinking of buying 10,000 coins when i see the price drop to $1. If everyone urged everyone else to do the same, the price will rise, and sharply! everyone will be a winner!

is $1 too high / too low?

Thanks

29  Economy / Scam Accusations / Scammer - Jessica with minecraft accounts on: September 22, 2011, 11:51:48 AM
The accounts are stolen, phished from other members. Contacted a member of an account she stole, definatly no friend of hers! The accounts will get blocked, and he will not refund (yes thats a guy)

30  Economy / Scam Accusations / [SCAMMER] Jessica - Do not deal with on: September 21, 2011, 09:02:58 PM
"Jessica", who is most probally a guy, is selling stolen minecraft accounts. Do not buy since the accounts get taken back in a day or so, and that they are stolen, not her friends.

He had posted a thread about asking for hosting that would allow phishing for online game accounts.

Just a warning, he will ignore any refund requests after.

35  Economy / Lending / large investment for an electronic handheld wallet? on: September 14, 2011, 03:08:49 PM
At the moment this is just an idea.

I have enough electronics experience to create a sort of hand held wallet computer, would look somewhat like a calculator or one of those card readers you use to get into online banking here in the UK.

The idea is that you would be able to display your balance when syncd with a computer, or very easy to intergrate a wi-fi module to use this wirelessly around access points.

A display would show your account balance, transactions, and even use it to make transactions at points where the device would connect to a server, connect with encryption and transfer funds.

I expect that in the future could be used to make payments for goods at shops.

Any thoughts's?

I'll make a prototype next week.

Perhaps it would be a good idea to get the site on a proper webhost?
