81  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Communities opinion on 0.000001 loose on: March 20, 2013, 02:11:02 PM
What is the communities opinion on casinos like satoshidice sending out 0.000001 coins as a method of telling the player he lost? Could casinos spare not doing this if they have a decent enough API?
82  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Using proper fees on: March 15, 2013, 03:23:48 AM
How do you calculate the optimal fee code wise? Also what is the purpose seeing that the majority of clients will not modify the worker to not include it in the block on purpose if it has zero fees?
83  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Crypto-charlatans on: March 12, 2013, 03:50:05 PM
Am I being delusional or with the introduction of Bitcoin the creativity of the charlatans have emerged with cryptography, all I see are cryptographically complex systems which aim to cloud the judgement of the user and give the illusion of safety (because it's so complex!) yet in the end you are still unbelievable vulnerable and can still be swindled out of your coins.

E.g. SatoshiDice can still make selective bets with private information which is available only to them and win their own coins thereby stealing from their investors and promoting themselves through "Rare Wins"
84  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Wallet per user on: February 08, 2013, 04:07:42 PM
How can you create a wallet for every separate user and encrypt every wallet with a different hash?

EDIT: Just realized you can write an app to shutdown the daemon and replace the wallet.dat file but it seems it would slow overall performance drastically...

86  Bitcoin / Legal / Are bitcoins an e-currency? on: January 18, 2013, 03:11:42 PM
Would you even define it as an e-currency instead of virtual property? Since you are holding virtual valuables which you sell the same way Call of Duty is being sold on Steam?

91  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Get the address sent from on: November 03, 2012, 02:56:41 PM
I have an address in bitcoind and I would like to receive the first address that bitcoins were sent from in Bitcoin.net.

For example if I have an address 37muSN5ZrukVTvyVh3mT5Zc5ew9L9CBare with a balance of 9.5 coins, I would like to receive the address those coins were sent from. This is a problem since I will have multiple addresses each with a couple of coins and I want to get the addresses the coins were sent from for each address.

94  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Delete the wallet balances on: August 05, 2012, 09:50:14 PM
I have used Bitcoin-QT to send all my bitcoins to a different address thinking I would send it back and everything will be normal but when I sent them back bitcoind shows twice the original balance. Is there a way to just delete all the balances in all my wallets without changing the private/public keys so they are still usable?
95  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Currently have 825 coins on: July 29, 2012, 09:16:14 PM
I have a remote server running Bitcoind along with my server programs where a fraudulent user tried to hack me and one of the accounts is stuck with 825 "fake" bitcoins.

I tried move, I tried SendFrom, I tried SendToAddress all of which fail to send ANY coins at all. I am trying to "filter" the bad ones from the good ones so I expected to send all of them and see the real balance appear but it just throws an exception and nothing happens.

98  Economy / Gambling / Bitcoin Casino Sites? on: May 01, 2012, 06:31:59 PM
Has anyone heard of any good ones? There doesn't seem to be a lot of them. I enjoy gambling but I don't want to share my credit card info etc with complete strangers who are possibly untrustworthy.

EDIT: I have found http://www.casinobit.net/ does anyone know if they are legit?
