1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Bitcoin Wallet Fee's on: February 19, 2012, 05:46:22 AM
I went to do a small 3 BTC transaction for the exact amount i had in the wallet, when i tried it said it wanted a 0.0005 BTC fee or something along those lines, what?

So i moved a few more 0.2 BTC over tot he wallet just to send that 3.0BTC and any other transaction, after it confirmed i sent the 3.0 / 3.20 balance and it didn't take any of the 0.20, what?

Whats up with that.

EDIT: This is probably in the wrong section.

I followed a guide to set up the CGminer because i'm trying to get away from GUIMiner now.

I created the .bat and the shortcut to make CGMiner start up, but the guide had zero information in it about setting up a .config file, i used the example.conf that was inside the folder but it's all way over my head, could anybody create a code i can copy/past or atleast get me started so i have a better hands-on understanding?

My system is listed above i have 3 GPU's 2 of them are crossfired, the other is not/can't be. I controll my overclocks and fan speeds manually and perfer it as i have a profile already set up.

They are Radeon HD 6870's, i am having a problem with GUIMiner currently detecting the 3rd GPU or any GPU not crossfire enabled, so i -may- have to switch back to SDK2.1 which from my understanding will run better on OpenCL a config file for phatk2 and OpenCL would me highly appreciated!

The error i'm recieving is most likely because i don't know how to make a config file for my set up.

At this moment, trying to set up the config. file myself i get this error.

3  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / AMD APP SDK 2.6 on: February 12, 2012, 11:05:36 PM
Iv'e been trying to get AMD APP SDK 2.4 or 2.6 installed and it just is being a complete pain.

Iv'e tried uninstalling drivers/driver sweeper CCC11.8/11.9/11.11/11.12/12.1 with ZERO success in every kind fo order trying to get AMD APP SDK installed, If i have ATI stream SDK 2.1 installed before hand it will uninstall it and GUIMiner will say there is no OpenCL device installed and it will not detect the GPU's. uninstalling the CCC/driver sweeper/reinstalling drivers (any) with SDK 2.1 is the only thing i can do to get it to work at all, however it's slow in comparison to when i was able to successfully install it ONCE a few weeks ago, now it's just being a pain in the ass and i'm about ready to throw something.

I am not reinstalling windows again, i have installed enough drivers that i can say it has no effect on the success.

What's going on here? I can install 2.3 all day long and get 300MHash, 2.4+ gives 10-15 more MH/s per GPU and i can't seemt o get it installed.

4  Economy / Lending / [Funded]~35BTC Loan on: February 11, 2012, 03:11:39 AM
What would be the interest rate you'd charge on a 35 BTC loan for, say 30-45 days?

My wife and i have been interested in TERA http://tera.enmasse.com/preorder?utm_source=tera=launcher=gumball=pre_order

For awhile, we're still not sure if we want to pre-order yet but if we did it would be the "Limited Collectors" Edition on the far right, 2x $80 each plus they will probably charge shipping since it's a physical item, i assumed $10 shipping for each of them which brought me to about $180. Not sure when the pre-orders will become available but would like to jump on that band-wagon when it is since it saves your Closed Beta progress which began today (and i'm loving the game!).

Well that's the cause of it, a little more info on my Hash/income. With all the rigs running i do nearly 2 BTC a day, 1.95/24hr has been the avg. at ~2700 MH/s, since i also use the BTC to pay for my light bill iv'e weighted 1 BTC/Day as the repayment which comes to roughly 35 days+ interest, that leaves me with ~0.7(on the low side)or 24.5 BTC ($135) in 35 days to make the lightbill. I could probably wait a few days and need less while i think about offered interest rates, but for now i figured i'd go ahead and ask.

-Also, how can i set up -otc, i'm not finding a "register" button or anything.

My heatware if that means anything:

5  Bitcoin / Mining support / Perpetual Connecting on: February 10, 2012, 05:28:32 PM

GUIMiner 2011-8-24
Using Phoenix flags: -k phatk2 VECTORS BFI_INT AGGRESSION=11 worksize=128 FASTLOOP=false
~300 MH/s per GPU
CPU affinity:
Core 1 - GPU 1
Core 3 - GPU 2
Core 5 - GPU 3

So the problem i'm having is the GPU load will just drop and the miner will perpetually read "Connecting..." this is happening 4-5 times a day on any of the 3 GPU's or sometimes more than one, at first i thought it was an Overclock issue, so i set them all back to  stock but it persisted, so i pushed to voltage a bit higher (1.180v) @ 950mhz which is more voltage than it really needs, i tested and overclocked them all individually for several hours. So i'm ruling out instability.

I don't have any tools to check the PSU but i have my doubts it's that, i had 2xGTX 580's peaked out for several days on it, and 2x5970's awhile back, this little bit is nothing it can't handle.

Iv'e tried reinstalling the drivers, wiping the OS, pretty much everything time consuming. I'm at a loss, not sure where to go from here, i have a test bench with a 850W Corsair PSU with 3 of the same cards, same Miner/flags (with no crossfire bridge) and it isn't giving me this problem at all.

The only thing i didn't try was taking the crossfire bridge off, because i occasionally use it for gaming, but i don't game to much anymore. What does it sound like to you?
6  Economy / Lending / Building Credibility on: February 10, 2012, 02:46:51 AM
TL;DR provided by payb.tc

i see lots of scams
heatware is good. http://heatware.com/eval.php?id=76821
postcount don't mean nuttin'
short-term / high interest sucks
privacy = good
i'd like to get a loan some day
discuss

Looking around here i think the "Borrowing/Loan's" of BTC is a pretty neat idea, but after reading several threads i started to notice a trend of people not showing up again or disappearing, only for another to show up and do the same, this hurts the honest people, like me for example, most of you might think immediately somebody like me would be out to take your BTC's. What would make you come to that conclusion? Let's go through the loops.

I figure a good solid idea for BTC trading would be something along the lines of what Heatware does, this is just one idea, here is an example of my heatware: http://heatware.com/eval.php?id=76821

Just from that little bit of information you might not can tell if i were an honest person or not, but it's a start.

So how else can we build credibility? i think 2000 posts and 20 posts shouldn't make any difference, post count can't particularly mean anything when you can just open a new account, besides that, i read more than i talk, occasionally i have something to say but chances are it's already been answered. A better explanation of that would be: i have been a member of the Overclockers forums for about 2 years and i only have 400 posts, Tera Online forums as well, before they took down the forums i had about 245 posts and i joined on 2009, on average i viewed the website forums atleast twice a week, so i don't think post count would be entirely fair for an individual like me.

I don't think short term/high interest get's much business, rather it scares people away, more-so the type of person who would actually pay you back. Right now i'm mining almost 2BTC a day, almost, not quite, i'd love to invest in another mining rig while keeping it "Future proof" for adding more GPU's, buying from the egg i would estimate that would put me roughly in the $700 range getting another couple of 6870's another test bench, power supply/motherboard, pretty much everything i need to push out ~620MH/s, that's roughly alittle less than 130 BTC at the current exchange, let's break that down a bit, i make ~2BTC/Day, let's not include the new rig because that would just be a bonus or make up for internet outage/power outage/failed GPU anything that could happen. That would put me just over 2 months paying it back, there is really no way i would ask for that amount of BTC when in a few months time that amount could lower and the loaner would really loose, not just that but i actually am in such hard times that i am using BTC to pay all of my electricity, so in my position i would have to find a way to arrange the payments so i make enough to cover energy usage.

This is why banks draw out loans over so much time, it takes average people, a year or so to pay back a loan, that's an average i pulled out of my butt because it's taken me maybe 2-3 years to pay off something while still being able to pay my priorities. This is where interest makes money, it has to be small enough that you don't really "feel" anything coming back (profit) for quite awhile, because the lendee needs to feel the same way. So in perspective if i borrowed 130 BTC, i mine aprox. 60 BTC in 30 days, i use 40 of them for my expenses, i would have to agree upon a ~20 BTC payment every 1st of the month to realistically pay it back and if there is extra i would apply it just to speed things up, i don't much like being in the position of owing back. This is more for the lenders to think about than anything, getting smaller payments might "Keep the honest man, honest" so to speak, Disclaimer: no relation to me.

That's a large loan in my opinion so lets back it down to 10 BTC, that is a little easier to swallow as a loss, but you still don't want to lose anything, this is where i think collateral should apply, it's universal actually, it could apply more-so to the larger loan, many banks won't give people with bad or no credit a credit card, it's difficult to get started and i think it's as well should be with proof all over these forums, when it comes to fraud somebody looses, and it's typically the bank/lender.

I don't know about you guys but i like my privacy, handing out my SSN for a credit check or my name and address feels just as shady as me not wanting to give it out. So there must be other methods, companies around the world have thought on this same prospect to help sort out the dishonest what can we learn from their practices?

Another thing, when BTCs went from $20 to ~$1 i had to shutdown, i wasn't around for atleast 4 months, iv'e seen that looked at as a deciding factor for giving loans to people.

I mainly wrote this because at some point or another i wouldn't mind saying "Hey so-and-so, you got a couple hundred BTC i can use?" and not be scanned like a criminal. I will probably never hit 200+ posts anytime soon, my credibility by most means may never stand out, because i am one of the possibly few people who doesn't have much to say to often, i don't really have anything to sell or trade, and i wouldn't make a loan if i knew i couldn't pay it back, a person like me would never be able to establish credibility by the time everyone's guard is up so high, it can't be reached, atleast not by me.

I'm interested in hearing your thoughts, please feel free to post your thoughts, i'm interested in what you think.

7  Bitcoin / Mining support / Mhash variance on: February 09, 2012, 05:34:28 PM
I'm wondering if the variance i'm see'ing is normal, for some reason i feel paranoid enough to ask if this is normal, I know some amount of variance is normal.

The rigs i have working are
2x6950's @ ~385 MH/s each
3x6870's @ ~300 MH/s each
3x 6870's @ ~290 MH/s each

Total: ~2840 MH/s

When i "F5" on the page the variance is anywhere from 1400MH/s to 2600MH/s, maybe once have i seen it in the 2800's. I expected the variance to be no larger than ~300MH/s up or down from 2700MH/s. The 6870's are on Phoenix with Phatk2, same flags, the 6950's are on poclbm, they're all getting shares and showing work submitted, they are all 98~99% usage steady, clocks are all stable no downclocking going on, CPU usage is normal and the Mhash display on GUIminer is steady within 1 MH/s.

It may be coincidence but i can hit 2600+ once i sign out of these forums, while here it looks like it's having a hard time going over 2000 MHash, i almost feel like my work is being shifted, what do you think does that variance sound normal?

9  Bitcoin / Mining / I'm not understanding "Worksize" on: February 04, 2012, 11:42:06 PM
I have some 6870's running on GUI+phoenix and iv'e been playing with the flags, i came out with

-k phatk VECTORS BFI_INT AGGRESSION=14 worksize=128 FASTLOOP=false

On Stream 2.3, 1000mhz core, iv'e been changing things around just to see if it made any real difference and 300 - 307 M/Hashs is pretty much where it planted, now everything else seems to have had an effect one way or another (very small increments) except "Worksize" iv'e changed it to 64, 128, 256 and 512(lol) and didn't see it make any difference in the M/Hashs after starting it back up.

First off, if somebody would be so kind, explain to me what the worksize is exactly, and when mining does it make any difference, for example, if it does 10 shares@Worksize 64 vs 5 shares @ 128 vs 2.5 @ 256 etc, or is that not right?
10  Other / Beginners & Help / Something does not seem right (mining) on: August 25, 2011, 01:24:52 PM
I try to keep my loyalty to one mining pool, and so far i have, i'm showing between 1,050 & 1120 Mhash/s - or according to GUIminer 1085 MHash/s total, during my last two 24 hour pools my income has seemed extremely bad.

I have 1x5970, and 2x 6870, with a single 6870 being RMA'ed, so my 5970 & 6870 are giving the 1085, i expect another 280-300 Mhash/s when i get my other 6870 back (totaling aprox. 1300 Mhash/s)

Running around forums i noticed alot of people having 2 or 3 5870's or 5850's which is around or less than my Hash rate and claiming to make 1.0 - 1.5/24 hours, my last two 24 hour payouts were:

24 hour payout #1 = 0.138
26 hour payout #2 = 0.222
and it looks like my next 24 hours is going to be about 0.206

At this rate, i am not even payign for my light bill,i can't run my PC's for free, otherwise i'd go do F@H, if i could get some advice on what's wrong that would be great, Thanks in advanced.
