Due to circumstances beyond our control, the BitFloor USD bank account will be closed. As a result, BitFloor will be unable to continue operations until this matter is resolved.

In order to facilitate an orderly return of your funds, I ask that you cancel all of your open orders, stop any and all deposits into BitFloor and withdraw the BTC you have which are not on hold. If you are setup for ACH withdraw, please withdraw your USD as well.

We are still working to resolve the bank account situation but feel it appropriate to take these actions at this time. Should anything change in our position, we will notify you as soon as we have more information.

This email is being sent to groups of account holders to avoid a widespread panic and affect market conditions.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to respond back via email for further followup.

I appreciate your understanding in this challenging period for BitFloor.

6  Economy / Speculation / Gaming MtGox Bots on: February 25, 2013, 05:45:02 AM
I've noticed that when I put in an ask of ~50BTC on mtgox slightly below the current ask, immediately a similarly sized order is placed in front of it at 0.0001 or so less. If I hop over that, it happens again. I can walk the order down this way until at some point it gives up.

Hypothesis: There is a bot trying to maximize sell orders by constantly putting itself in front of the line, but not too far ahead. This way it can squeeze out more usd per btc sold.

Idea: If you are looking to buy and have some spare btc, you can try "walking" down the ask.

Has anyone else noticed this or tried messing with it?

8  Economy / Goods / WTS: Nexus 7 16GB, NEW/Refurb on: December 13, 2012, 04:56:49 AM
I dropped my Nexus 7 a few weeks ago. Sent it in for repair and in the mean time got another tablet. I was just sent a new one as a replacement directly from Asus. It's basically brand new. I am also including the original box.

PM me offers, they're going on ebay for ~200, I'd rather sell it via btc.

You can check my OTC rep in my sig.

12  Economy / Currency exchange / Review of Bitfloor on: June 16, 2012, 04:29:21 PM
I had a chance to use bitfloor the last couple of days and I wanted to write up a little review about it.

I walked into a Chase bank and deposited some USD to the account bitfloor specifies on its website. The teller asked me for a name on the account, I was a little unsure, but said "bitfloor", she just said "yup" and took my cash. I got the receipt, snapped a picture of it and sent it in. I was expecting to wait a while for a response, but to my surprise, I got one is about 5 minutes. I checked my bitfloor account, and the funds were there ready to trade.

The interface took a few minutes to get used to, but after a trade or two, everything makes perfect sense.

Fees are very reasonable.

I didn't have a chance to test cash withdrawals yet. API looks cool, but haven't messed with it either.

One thing I really like is how responsive the site is compared to other exchanges I've used.

Overall a very nice experience. Recommended.
