Yesterday I made 3 transactions sending 9 BTC, then 10 BTC, and then 10 BTC to 3 of my friends.

I'm using the original bitcoin client 0.7.1 win32 with no fees configured.

Can someone explain why the second and third transaction have fees? why they are different and why the third one is almost 9% of the transaction value?
