* SwitchDex offers users a one time flat fee amount to remove this platform fee forever. From July 1st through July 31st this one time fee is $50. This fee will increase $10 monthly, and will top out at $100 in December 2019.

If you guys haven't tried switchdex, please do, it works really well and has a simple UI, the only issue is the lack of liquidity but that can be solved with your help!
2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / There isn't always a clear reason why BTC went up or down on: May 29, 2019, 12:13:19 PM
I see a lot of topics talking about why bitcoin did this or that. Sometimes there are clear indicators as of why but many times it simply happens. Coincidence, trading bots and simple TA can affect the price and create a snowball effect easily.

Imagine 3 whales with 1000 btc each decide to sell bitcoin and by chance they do so at the same time. Of course the price will tank and people will wonder why, bots will follow and so on.
3  Economy / Speculation / I personally think bitcoin is bullish right now. on: September 10, 2018, 10:12:11 AM
I know people have been saying that since forever. This whole year people have been yelling ''bullish'' every day however, memes aside I truly think bitcoin is bullish. Obviously we are in a downtrend but I just find it funny when people lose their minds because bitcoin went from 7400 to 6700 in a day when in december we had $3000+ moves to the upside. No one was complaining back then huh? Technically speaking when you look at the weekly/daily chart you can see we are basically in a descending wedge which is, technically speaking, a bullish indicator. We have been forming weekly lower highs all year, however if the support area around 6000$ holds again this time, we will be in a really good position to actually break the lower highs, we would only need a 1000$~ move to break it for the first time in basically a year.

Not to mention the clear interest, governments/entities/businesses are taking in bitcoin. ETF's, Nasdq, etc etc, even if they aren't approved.
4  Economy / Trading Discussion / Is there any reason to day trade anything other than bitcoin? on: August 01, 2018, 11:19:36 PM
Serious discussion please.

Obviously some alts can have significantly bigger gains than bitcoin when it comes to long term and bull runs, the last bull run from 6k to 10k for example, sure bitcoin was strong, almost a 2x but some of the top alt coins did more than a 2x even 3x. However that's only long term.

Short term I don't see any reason to trade anything other than bitcoin, especially knowing how little volume some of the other coins have, even top 10 alt coins, for example stellar only has 33m volume. So my question is, what's the point of trading stellar, for example, instead of bitcoin? You know that even if you are a whale and trade a lot, you wont be moving the market as much, if you have 1m and you trade stellar, that's already huge and we all know the 33m volume is probably not even real, a lot of it from bots trading.

It's also much easier to follow bitcoin because, well, the whole market follows bitcoin. Bitcoin dictates where the market goes.
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Payfair on: May 02, 2018, 08:42:46 PM
They recently (few days ago) launched their exchange https://payfair.io/ and the price has been rallying up a little bit: https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/payfair/ but I still think their currency is extremely undervalued. Considering that they already have a working product (their exchange) I would say it can easily do a x5 or x10. The only reason the price is still cheap it's because it's not on any big exchange. IDEX is good but not enough. What do you think?
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Is there really any point in buying alts right now, I personally don't think so. on: April 09, 2018, 11:43:51 PM
Unless you are looking for a very long term investment, virtually all alts are just following bitcoin price, in fact most alts are getting weaker and weaker including big ones like eth or ltc, compared to bitcoin. I have been trading bitcoin only lately because there is really no point in trading anything else right now. Until we see the market recover and stabilize a bit which could happen soon or could take years, I really don't see much point in buying alts for the short term.
7  Economy / Economics / Only a mature and regulated crypto market will attract big investors. on: April 09, 2018, 11:40:58 PM
https://cointelegraph.com/news/2018-mature-crypto-market-will-draw-more-investment-see-less-volatility-analyst-says

Obviously as an investor you understand there are risks but out of all the exchanges out there, i can think of 2-3 that I would personally trust with my money and in my case we are only talking about thousands, imagine a big player with millions using etherdelta or some other retarded exchange, no way that will ever happen. Even big exchanges like bittrex, not long ago, they fucked up and made everyone wait months and months to get your account enabled or verified. Why would any big player invest in crypto when the risk is so huge, there is literally zero safety, any exchange can run away with your money and you can barely do anything.
8  Other / Meta / Scams vs Spam on: April 04, 2018, 10:23:24 PM
It seems to me that most of the posts here are bout merits and spam/shitposting. There are a few posts about scams but most are about merits and spam and I'm not saying it's ok to have spam but isn't more important to stop scams? Has anyone seen all the articles about how many scams happen in the cryptocurrency world? Like this: https://news.bitcoin.com/9-million-day-lost-cryptocurrency-scams/

This forum is certainly part of the problem, most ICO's are advertised here quite freely, a ton of scams do happen here daily as well yet everyone seems so concerned with spam. I have seen people with -16 trust creating signature campaign threads and people joining them, sure it's their fault for joining but why are they even allowed to open such threads?

I can think of a few easy ways right now like why are we even allowing newbies to post in the lending section? At least they shouldn't be able to start threads, most of them are scams and while there are definitely members stopping them like vod and others I still find it weird that everyone cares so much about spam and not enough about scams.
9  Economy / Gambling discussion / Is there any pvp betting game? on: April 03, 2018, 10:24:06 AM
I remember someone was making a pvp game where you could play against someone else and the winner gets the money. I haven't seen any of those around here for a while, I would love to play a skilled game where you can bet and the house takes a small percentage on each play. Anything like that with bitcoins? Or any other cryptocurrency for that matter.
10  Bitcoin / Legal / Signature Campaigns taxes on: March 18, 2018, 12:40:52 AM
Now first of all I live in spain and I'm wondering if someone has ever paid taxes with money acquired from signature campaigns here. I made a decent amount of money a year ago because campaigns were giving 0.03-0.04 per week. I wouldn't really know how to pay taxes if I need to, would this count like a job and how exactly would someone prove they got their bitcoins from signature campaign , seems quite difficult.

Edit

A few options are presented:

1. Don't say anything, it's virtually impossible for any tax agency to find out what you have. However eventually they might be able to and you could face serious problems.

2. Mark it as freelance work and a tax rate will be applied to it, up to 50% (reported by an user) It seems that they wont ask for much information or proof as long as you are declaring it intentionally.

3. Simply spend bitcoins or any other cryptocurrency that you earned without ever converting it to fiat because cryptocurrencies are usually not taxable in most European countries.

11  Economy / Exchanges / Any exchange/website to withdraw fiat? on: March 01, 2018, 09:21:45 PM
I don't care if you need ID verification or not the problem is that right now most of them work extremely slow or just do not work. I tried Bitwala but they stopped their services, CEX.io works extremely slow and bitstamp seems to require a lot of information before allowing you to withdraw fiat so what other alternatives are there? I tried localbitcoins and it was ok but I'd rather not use it again.
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Apparently you can get rich even with scam coins. on: January 09, 2018, 03:02:14 PM
Apparently you can. Unless I'm mistaken I thought confido (https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/confido/) was a scam coin. Recently the rest of Confido team was refunding their collected ETH for Confido tokens through KuCoin exchange. However some people started buying confido at a higher price than what the team was buying, eventually from 0.07$ went up to 1$ and still costs 0.34$ right now. A coin that has literally no uses, no devs, nothing and yet if you had or bought coins when it was 1-2 cents, not long ago, you could have made a x30 - 50 almost with a scam coin. Are people really this uninformed when it comes to buying coins? Is there something that I'm missing here?
13  Economy / Economics / People are extremely biased towards bitcoin. on: December 21, 2017, 03:12:47 PM
Most people here and reddit will defend bitcoin no matter what instead of looking at the problems. Every time someone comments something about the speed or transaction fees they will just yell ''FUD'' or ''Another attack on bitcoin'' but it's not always that. I have been a strong supporter of bitcoin myself but we have to face it, it's not in a good position right now, sure the price is great but what else? Insane fees that are not getting solved any time soon? I know the demand is high but the ones that are buying are just buying to sell eventually not to support bitcoin, not to use it. The demand will eventually fade away and what do we have left? An outdated bitcoin that won't be able to compete with better coins.
14  Economy / Speculation / Is there any good guide on how to trade bitcoins? on: May 11, 2017, 10:22:28 AM
I have been searching on google but haven't really found a really well explained guide about trading bitcoins or cryptocurrency in detail. I would be very interested if there was one, maybe someone knows a good one that is not just bullshit
15  Economy / Services / Who is offering some pixel art designs? on: September 19, 2015, 01:24:14 PM

16  Other / Off-topic / What's the best way to keep your pc secured? on: July 27, 2015, 01:45:39 PM
I am going to buy a new pc soon enough and i was wondering what should i do to be safe and secure, any programs, tricks or things that i shouldn't do?
17  Economy / Gambling discussion / Why do people still play dice? on: July 27, 2015, 10:45:31 AM
I used to play dice because i thought i could make profit, stable profit from it, obviously i was wrong, you can't win in the long term, that was my only purpose of playing dice, other than that i do not find it fun or entertaining unless im winning money, i would not play dice if money was not involved, so my question is, why people still play? Im sure 90% of people know what your odds are and that strategies don't work, what is their purpose? Do you guys really have fun playing dice? Watching a number appear on the screen?
18  Other / Meta / Make a warning every time you make a thread on lending section on: May 20, 2015, 07:34:09 AM
Ive seen way too many people posting on the lending section asking for a loan, obviously, without collateral and yes i know some of them are just scammers and know what they are doing but there are also newbies that dont know what collateral is and they just fill the section with useless threads. My idea is to give a warning when you click create new thread on the lending section that shows you a few links to the rules and whats a collateral, what do you guys think?
19  Economy / Gambling / Game based on this forum? on: May 05, 2015, 03:00:07 PM
Is there any game based on this forum or would people be interested in such thing? Like predicting how many topics "x" section would get or how many posts. Or would this create a problem and would be abused by people?
20  Other / Meta / people "buying" trust without you noticing? on: April 27, 2015, 07:49:23 PM
I like to check the lending section on this forum because is quite funny and sometimes i notice a guy who has some trust and is looking for loan without collateral, most of the time he gets it because he has good trust but then you check his trust and its all from previous loans. What has this guy been doing with all these loans? Like i saw a guy with literally more than 15 feedbacks from loans. Does he really need those loans or is he "buying trust" because it just seems weird. Other thing is that most people that do that look for really small loans
