1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Block size debate and SPV mining on: March 01, 2016, 02:52:48 AM
I cant help but notice the disarray with the network lately. People are complaining of long confirmation times and high tx fees left and right. All i see is blocksize debate everywhere. Core this, classic that! But why isnt there that much concern about SPV mining?

My two sats..

Ok, cool. So we raise the block size limits. How does that help when a few of the biggest pools are mining blocks with little to literally no transaction fees? Empty blocks! It makes me cringe everytime i see a thread where someone says " I just got my new s7 and pointed it at (this top block finding pool)". * not specifying, not here to pool bash*

I know of a few small pools that mine fat juicy blocks that could use some of your hash and dont SPV mine. In my opinion, the less empty blocks the better.

( I am no expert on these subjects. If there is no correlation between the two and my perception is off, please enlighten me on my faulty thinking)

But i just had to ask  Wink

Edit: I deleted the introductory paragraph because well, it was poorly written and seemed more like i was making spv mining sound like it was the cause of the more recent events, which is not the case.  I just dont think it is helping.
2  Bitcoin / Mining support / Experienced miners, please help. -BOUNTY- on: September 11, 2015, 12:47:08 AM
Hello.

I am having an issue. I have a hashfast habanero board that has been hashing away for a while now. The other day, i wanted to mine something else (yes sha256 algo).
Set up my bat and started hashing. Went outside to have a smoke and when i came back in cgminer was spitting out some odd errors so i cut it off.
Now when i try to fire it back up i get:

ERR: Asked to memcpy 0 bytes from usbutils.c _usb_read():
HFA: OP_USB_INIT failed! Operation status 20 (Regulator programming error)
Turns into a zombie and just keeps resetting itslef. Cgminer recognizes the HFA device but keeps looping the error

I know that the RPE is lack of power but i have already been mining for a bit now and im using a 1000w psu.

Things i have done:
Cycled power
Uninstalled/reinstalled drivers/cgminer itself.
Switched usb ports on cpu and hfa board

Everything fires up fine, fans, lights. The cpu recognizes the device but it wont hash! I literally only switched which coin/pool i was mining.. THATS IT!

I will tip whoever can help me get this thing back up and running .01BTC (sorry dont have much)
or i will mine ethereum for you for 24hrs at 43mh (also not much, sorry)

I am not too experienced wih these asics. This is my first machine and i really enjoy it. Any help is appreciated.

4  Economy / Digital goods / [WTS] Max: Curse of the brotherhood redeemable code | free 2 day XBL trial on: May 07, 2015, 01:28:46 AM
Hello!

I have a redeemable code for the game Max: Curse of the brotherhood (XBOX 360) that I would like to sell for some Bitcoin. I am looking to sell for $5 (.02 BTC). As the title states, i will also toss the buyer a free 2 day trial for XBOX live.

The game runs for fifteen bucks on the marketplace so five seems reasonable. PM or reply below if you are interested.
