4  Economy / Service Discussion / A Million Bitcoin Apps on: March 15, 2015, 11:06:33 AM

From the Bitcoin 101 series found here

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4nOfHpOFhN8

Got me thinking..

Is there a site listing projects or apps in the making (other than wallets, and bitcoin use as money etc)  I am fascinated by alternate uses of blockchain tech other than Bitcoin as money/exchange. I checked out another cool site which I think in that video which is proof of existence

http://www.proofofexistence.com/

Colored coins is awesome too.

Anyone got anymore sites along those lines they can share. Stuff built on top of the blockchain not necessarily just for Bitcoin.

Also what are the best uses for altcoins again other than just a bitcoin rip off, what are your favourites and why?

5  Other / Politics & Society / A Blockchain Voting System on: March 14, 2015, 08:46:23 PM

I don't vote because I have lost all faith in politicians. I don't vote because all it seems to be is voting for a cheek of the same arse, or a lesser of an evil. I'm sure some of you may feel the same.

Bitcoin as money is an amazing concept and a voting system based on blockchain technology that couldn't be fiddled would be ground shaking change.

(Change you can believe in? remember that? )((Bull shit))

I would vote if I knew 100% that my vote counted. Not voting for some candidate already vetted by the establisment.

I think this is probably being worked on by someone right now, the world needs it... politics is full of liars and charlatans.

Wouldn't it be great if voting field of play was made level by cryptography?

6  Other / Off-topic / 7 Billion people on Earth & the exponential function on: March 12, 2015, 08:12:16 PM

There are 7 Billion souls on Earth...at our current rate of population growth (1.4% /year) we could reach 14 Billion by the year 2065.

It took all these thousands of years for us to get to 7 Billion and in just 50 years it could double to 14 Billion, (Although many think external factors will stop this as the earth would not easily sustain so many)

Personally I think it would be a terrible idea to have that many people on the planet, and really at the moment people don't seem to care. Nonetheless people do need to start talking about it. We are led by politicians and leaders who tout the paradigm of infinite growth in a finite resource world. I watched this video and it outlined a function of mathematics I had known of obviously, but never really quite understood it to it's full potential.

If anyone is interested in educational material there is a video I found on youtube by Dr. Albert A. Bartlett from the University of Colorado

It's about Arithmetic, population and energy. ( I hope many of you have already seen it, but if you havn't it is highly educational )

7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Some help with a new project on: March 10, 2015, 04:00:33 PM
Hello Bitcointalk,

I was hoping there may be some benevloent individual within this learned community who may point me in the right direction...

I'll have to come back here very soon as I'm not allowed to delete my own posts... Angry

Edit:  Yes sorry let me explain. I need to create a premined alt coin ( woah I hear you say we do not need anymore of those ) Yes I agree but hear me out. I love the bitcoin technology for its infallible way to set trust. I need a coin I can give away to people and for them to use it as a vote token.

So I need a lot of coins I can give away and then I want people to able to vote with them by sending to an address corresponding to an event. I'm sure you get the idea. Anway I am a noob and I would just like to know how I can go about this. Is it easy enough to create a new pre mined coin?

I did do some research although I feel I would come unstuck on some of the tutorials.

I have a server I would like to host it on...was just wondering if anyone out there has used any such site or can offer any direction?

Ok well thanks in advance.
