41  Bitcoin / Press / 2013-07-02 BBC - The Bitcoin believers on: July 02, 2013, 11:13:29 PM
On the 39th floor above Canary Wharf, overlooking London's finance centre, I found a cash machine with a difference. This ATM chews up your £10 notes rather than spewing them out, and in return you get a computer code. This is the world's first Bitcoin cash machine and if the people showing it to me are to be believed, it shows us the future of money.

42  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / 85.17.239.32 causing troubles. on: June 27, 2013, 09:47:51 PM
Playing merry hell with my client. Well, the debug log anyway.
No way of blocking IPs is there? So blocked it on my router.
43  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / F-yeah! (bitcoind port) on: May 20, 2013, 09:19:06 PM
After countless failed attempts some months ago, I just had another go at trying to build bitcoind for the mipsel architecture... specifically my router.
I recently bought an ASUS RT-N66U which boasts a mighty 256Mb RAM and 600MHz processor, so thought I'd give it another go.
So, after about 3 solid days of finding the right compiler, right GCC/binutils/uclibc combination, tweaking them; finding the right libraries, their right versions and tweaking those, I finally, finally FINALLY managed to build and run it on my router!

Currently using up 99% CPU usage and 75Mb RAM downloading all the blocks.
It's an un-optimised un-striped debug build that's running under GDB right now, so there's some room for efficiency.

50  Economy / Speculation / Mistakes you made... on: April 10, 2013, 07:30:56 PM
For me:
1. Not selling a bunch at $260 when I was seriously considering it.
2. Not logging in to account in time to cancel the buy @220 when I saw the price plummet to 222.

Damnit!

54  Economy / Trading Discussion / Current best way to trade BTC<->GBP? on: March 20, 2013, 06:16:38 PM
Just been using intersango, which I don't want to use anymore
- Can't deposit GBP
- Very limited order book
- Withdrawal fee 13GBP
- Trading fee 0.65%

MtGox
- Wire tansfer fee 2000JPY ~13.8GBP
- SEPA fee 5.5PLN ~1.1GBP + exchange rate/fees???
- Trading fee 0.65%
- Arium exchange 15GBP wire transfer

Saw a recommendation for Bitstamp:
- No direct GBP: USD->EUR->GBP
- Exhange rates/fees Huh
- SEPA fee 0.90EUR
- Or Wire transfer for $15
- Trading fee 0.5%

I have US and UK banks and they charge $30 transfer (both HSBC actually... wonderful that 'The worlds local bank' charge me to transfer my own money within the same bank)

Others?
