We've beta released Bitshops.net. We recommend visiting the website and just trying it to figure out what it is.

Bitshops.net provides easy privacy in e-commerce. It does so using client-side encryption and Bitcoin.

Users can create a "Bitshop", which is a password-encrypted product catalog. That catalog can be loaded (by visiting "bitshops.net/*shopcode*), the password entered, and the catalog viewed. Once loaded users can add products to a cart, and create an order. That order is asymetrically encrypted.

Every order has a Bitcoin escrow associated with it. Only when both parties agree on whom should be paid will anyone be paid. In case a conflict has no hope of being resolved* it can be removed, and Bitshops.net will claim the associated funds. That (and possibly forcibly closed stores, but that's TBD) will be the only source of income. There are no fee's.

Bitshops.net is administrated by a Dutch limited liability company, Bitshops BV.
