1  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Darkwallet recovery on: July 06, 2015, 09:28:32 PM
Bitcoiners,

I placed some amount of bitcoin in a darkwallet version 0.8 wallet.  I have the seed, both the hexadecimal value and the words.

The obelisk server is currently down, I'm on a new computer and would like to take the coins out of there.  I unfortunately don't know if the coins are on the chain because I cannot connect to obelisk.

Is there a place I can plug in the hex?  I know the word list is irregular, the word "vision" is present so I cannot open in a standard wallet like Wallet32 or the like.

Any help is appreciated.

4  Bitcoin / Electrum / Android Client. vs Windows on: October 07, 2013, 06:58:25 PM
I recently installed electrum on both my phone and laptop with the same seed.  The windows machine displays only 5 addresses while the android displays the same 5 addresses + 3 ones I do not recognize.  Are these keys somewhere hidden on the windows client and if so can I view them somehow / add them to the visible pool?

thanks!
5  Other / Off-topic / RSA (ssh & gpg) key question on: June 01, 2013, 10:48:44 AM
The private keys I have stored on my drive have passwords on them.  Although they are my "private" keys do they need to be kept private if they are encrypted via the ssh-keygen and gpg --gen-key functions?

Pretty self explanatory.  I haven't bought bitcoins through MTgox for a year and now there is so verification system for Dwolla accounts?  It has yet to finish and I have USD sitting for who knows how long up there.  I'm rated on the OTC.

11  Economy / Marketplace / [TRADING] PPUSD for Dwolla on: June 20, 2011, 11:37:03 PM
Fellow bitcoiners,

It takes days for Dwolla to receive funds from the bank, so if your Dwolla account has funds in it at the moment I am willing to send Paypal for an equal amount you send + $.25 to cover the transaction.  Tradehill only accepts Dwolla and I'm trying to start trading ASAP.

I'm well rated on the OTC and you can reach me at bobberb@gmail.com.  My GPG key is below if you wish to encrypt.

13  Other / Off-topic / Mullvad help on: April 13, 2011, 10:16:26 PM
Anyone here using Mullvad for VPN?

I got the trial running and my web browser automagically forwards through Sweden, and I like that part already.  How do I forward other applications (putty) through?  I can't seem to tell if I'm proxied or not unless I head to whatismyip.com, but obviously a non-web browser isn't capable of that.
14  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Help: The two wallet system on: February 21, 2011, 05:27:38 PM
Hi guys, just got into Bitcoin thanks to GRC's Security-Now podcast.  Quick question that I haven't seen answered on the wiki.

It suggests creating a 2 wallets, one that has all the "savings" and one for the other normal transactions.

1) If coins are sent from A to B, I need to close BTC, open it up with a B's wallet.dat, wait until payment is received, and then switch it back out correct?

2) What, in general, happens to coins that are sent to an account that is not online?  (From what I understand the blocks will catch you up right?)

3) How often should the "savings" wallet be updated with new blocks?  Sealing it away in an encrypted container can't possibly make it a proper wallet...right?

4) All these blocks we're all getting, is this taking much bandwidth?

5) As I recall, losing your wallet.dat with any funds inside means those BTCs are gone forever - is this equivalent to burning a dollar bill or melting a penny?
