I have a few bitcoins and am going to buy a few more in a day or two. Will have some 10+ Bitcoins then. I wanted to know which is the best investment option where I can invest my bitcoins and earn some profits as their is no point of just holding them and let them stay dead in my wallet.

First and foremost, I don't know if this is a first, so if you can point me to something like this that came before let me know and I will change the subject.

My wife is an aspiring author who, now freshely out of college, would like to write a novel.  She has multiple projects in different stages of development but nothing serious yet.  For this project she would be choosing a completely undeveloped story idea and attempt to fund the progress of getting this idea into a full book completely through bitcoin by tapping into and furthering the bitcoin community.

The idea is that we would accept straight up donations at first to get rolling, we would use those initial funds to buy a webserver and maybe a .bit domain.  From there we would start getting things organized and really have a central place for this project.  From there we would "pre-release" chapters for a small fee to raise money.  One idea is to have a members area for people getting the chapters for them to vote on the direction the story takes at some points.

Later on in the process we would like to hire an editor, with bitcoins... and then fianlly convince a publisher to accept bitcoin (maybe lulu?)

What I am looking for here is firstly to gauge interest in this, secondly I am looking for ideas and or suggestions on how to implement this.

I have a few friends who make knives out of railroad spikes, these knives take hours to make and are crazy sharp when finished.  I am currently not in the capacity to sell these but  am wondering if anyone would be interested in a knife like this, depending on the market interest I may have him make a few to sell.  The cost would be between 10-15 btc with shipping to the US and a leather sheath at current prices (around there).  Not sure how international shipping would work, maybe it could fly as a "small artistic sculpture".

These knives are forged and then grounded down and polished to an extent depending on the desired look.

So, I make Chainmail.  I have sold my stuff at Anime conventions and to friends before and figured I would try to sell to you fine folks for some btc.

I have made all sorts of things including but not limited to: Bracelets, Belts, Bags, Hackey Sacks, wallet chains, Bikini tops, and one full shirt.

My current price is ~1btc per oz of mail... so a bracelet works out to be 3BTC and then a belt (depending on thickness, style etc) would be 10-15btc... the full suit?  well I would take offers on that but till i make a second one I wouldn't necessarily want to sell it.  If you really want it offers starting at ~150btc would be considered (it weighs in at above 20ibs)

I haven't really thought this through fully... so i would also have to charge for shipping... but i can work that out on an individual basis. (if anyone has suggestions for how I could handle shipping for things like this, I would appreciate the advice).
