7  Economy / Computer hardware / [WTS] Asus Radeon 5970 - 80 bitocins. on: March 15, 2012, 08:24:40 PM
Ive got this video card for sale.

It runs well and has no problems whatsoever. It mines at ~700 Mhash/s stock and stable at over ~800 Mhash/s without overvolting.

I am currently mining with six 5970's. I just got this back as a replacement for an RMA'd card. I havent been able to get more than 3 cards per machine to run stable so I have no use for this card right now.

It is still under manufacturers warranty and includes the packaging, driver disc, adapter, and crossfire cable.

I will ship this priority mail immediately upon sale so you should get it in 2-3 days.

Thanks.

9  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / High Density Milk Crate Rig - 6 GHash on: February 27, 2012, 02:33:58 AM
I assembled my first mining rig. What a mess.

Something had to be done.

I have a milk crate!

4 850 Watt Seasonic PSU's

High-tech advanced electrical isolation material (cardboard)

A couple of Biostar TA-870 mobos.

This case provides ample hard drive bays.

Oooh, arent those pretty.

Hehe.

Headless interface via Teamviewer.

I still need to get 3 more 5970's to finish the project.

Internet is through a single wireless adapter shared through ICS. Temps are about 80 but will be lower once it gets placed outside. Boots straight into mining via batch scripts. Worker failure notification via email and fire siren.

Windows 8, Catalyst 12.1, AMD Afterburner, Teamviewer, and GUIMINER. Thats it.

poclbm -v -w128 -f0

10  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Problemed miner running 4 5970's on: February 26, 2012, 02:56:42 AM
I have 2 rigs running 3 5970's each. They run great.

I have tried (many, many times) to get the fourth running and cant quite get there. Windows installs and recognizes all 8 GPUs, even the miners (guiminer poclbm, phoenix miner, and cgminer) recognize all 8 adapters. The problem is that the miners either hang (phoenix and cgminer) or only start mining on 3 cores (poclbm).

Anyone who has succesfully run 8 GPUs I would love to know what os, drivers, and miners you used in your rig.

Thanks.

15  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Trouble booting Linuxcoin with 4 Video Cards. on: February 09, 2012, 02:55:34 AM
I havent been able to run Linuxcoin with 4 5970's. Its mines great with 3 cards installed but put the fourth card in and it stops displaying after the splash screen. Ive also tried BAMT with the same issue.

I installed Ubuntu 11.04 and it runs well with four cards but I have been unable to successfully install the Catalyst drivers for this OS.

If anyone has any idea what might be causing the boot problems with Linuxcoin and BAMT or has ideas for a workaround please let me know.

Thanks.
16  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / [SOLVED] 8th GPU crashes "AMD External events viewer" on: February 09, 2012, 02:51:45 AM
I have been trying to get my miner set up but am having a problem with the last GPU.

I first tried using Windows 7 64-bit but couldnt get it to boot with more that 4 GPU's (2 5970's). It would freeze at the splash screen. So I installed Windows 8 developer preview and it recognizes and installs drivers for all 8 GPU's (4 5970's). No problems booting up at all.

Miners runs fine with three of the cards installed (6 GPU's). When I try and boot with the fourth card installed it crashes the "AMD external events viewer" every time. If I try and mine after this (external events viewer crash) the computer freezes up after a few seconds.

Has anyone experienced this error or have some ideas for a possible workaround?

My equipment is a Biostar TA-870 mobo with 4 reference 5970's. Windows 8 developer preview with corresponding windows 8 ati catalyst.

19  Economy / Goods / [WTB] Radeon 5870's on: January 23, 2012, 02:25:16 AM
Hey do any of you guys know of any good deals on 5870's? I'm looking for a price point ~ $140 USD. I saw that Bens outlet and onedealaday had them for this price but they are *sold out*.

I know there are a lot of used cards available on the message boards but I really need to keep everything as uniform as possible. So yeah, if you have 40 8570's for sale please let me know and we can work something out.

Thanks,
