1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / wallet blockchain apparently stuck on: October 16, 2012, 08:20:36 PM
A couple days ago I noticed my wallet was not up to date and a couple of my transactions were not showing.  It seemed to be stuck at block 202762.  I have a warning at the bottom of the wallet that says, "Warning: Displayed transactions may not be correct!  You may need to upgrade, or other nodes r" and it stops there.  I can't see what else it is saying.  I went to Bitcoin.org and got the latest client which is version 7.0 beta.  I downloaded it and saw it was a little different.  It was still stuck at block 202762.  I let it run for over a day and it didn't change.  It said it was 99.6% complete but never went past 202762 though it did say out of 203,000 something.  After running it over a day I went ahead and deleted my Bitcoin folder from the programs (86) file.  I then redownloaded the new client and tried starting over.  Same result.  It starts out stuck at block 202762.  The wallet shows it is "out of sync".  The little arrow in the corner is turning as it was the first time and says, "Catching up.  Downloaded 202762 of 203,593 blocks of transaction history (99.59% done).  Last recieved block was generated 5 days ago."  I am showing 17 active connections and the same Warning is displaying.  So any ideas on what could be going wrong?  I do use the Armory wallet but it depends on the Bitcoin-QT client working and being up to date.  Strangely, my Armory wallet shows, "Connected (202,789 blocks)" at the bottom of the page which is a little different than the 202,762 that Bitcoin-QT seems to be stuck at.  Anyway I am not sure what is wrong or how to fix it can anyone help?
2  Economy / Lending / Looking for a large loan. on: September 04, 2012, 04:11:43 PM
Hi, I am trying to create a job for myself.  I am looking for a loan to purchase hardware to increase my Bitcoin production to where I can make a living off of it.   I am looking for a large loan but I will not pay 10% a week.  I will guarantee a 50% return in one year for loans for a minimum of 100 Bitcoins.  I am trying to borrow 3,500 Bitcoins so I can purchase a Butterfly Labs Mini Rig ‘SC”.  One of those would get me to where I could make a living for my wife and I.  First off, I want to point out that my name pirate1 refers to the fact that I wear an eyepatch.  I have no relation to the pirate who apparently has been doing a ripoff.  In fact that makes me wish I had chosen another name.  It also has nothing to do with pirating software or music or anything like that.  It only has to do with the fact I wear an eyepatch.  With the eyepatch pirate and patch have been nicknames for a while.  I have an Indiegogo campaign up that explains my whole situation and what I am trying to do.  That can be found at http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/210944?a=563041.  I also have a couple of other web sites that explain who I am and what I am trying to do.  I  have set up a site called CyberMiningCompany.com to be my mining business.  Take a look at it.  I am currently mining with two XFX 6870 video cards and two Butterfly Labs Bitforce Singles.  I am getting around 2100-2200 mh/s and making about a Bitcoin a day.  That’s not enough to make a living but it’s enough that I know how the process works.  I have been checking out Bitcoins for about a year and joined this site back in January of this year.  I also have a site called HuntWebDesign.net.  If you go there you can find my resume posted on the ‘about the designer’ page.
I do not want loans with monthly or weekly payments as I really don’t have much of an income at this point and it will take a little bit to get the Mini Rig or whatever hardware I end up getting, up and running.  Until that happens I don’t want to obligate myself for payments that would be a problem.  If things work out like I think they will I will repay the loan ahead of schedule.  Also if I do as well as I am hoping to do I will be adding a bonus on top of the 50% but I do not want to guarantee more than 50% as for anything but Bitcoins that is already a ridiculously high interest rate.  I just want to create a job for myself where I can get my wife and I back on our feet.  It has been a rough few years since construction fell through the floor here in Florida and I went back to school to get my computer degree.  It’s time to get back on my feet but I need some help.  If you take a chance with me I promise to pay back the loan and the 50% within a year or less.  Or, you might like the perks on my My Indiegogo Campaign.  The top perks are custom built computers in about a year.  Anyway, check it out.
I can be contacted through rhunt@cyberminingcompany.com or hrobert511@aol.com.  I will try to keep up with any comments on this post also.  If you have any questions let me know.

3  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Modem problems on: July 14, 2012, 10:55:25 PM
Hi, I am having modem problems.  I just got my two new BFL singles and got them up and running.  I have configured both cgminer and Ufasoft for them and both run fine though it seems like Ufasoft is faster.  The problem is, with either one, I have to reset my modem about every fifteen minutes.  My computer and my wife's computer are our home network.  If neither of us do anything else the miner will run for half an hour to an hour before needing a reset.  If I don't start the miner everything runs fine.  When I hook the miner up I loose my conection abut every fifteen minutes.  As soon as I pull out the power cord and re-attach it or hit the reset button on the modem the miner will start working in a minute or two.  I have a new Cisco DPC 3008 and a Linksys WRT54G router.  When the connection drops every fifteen minutes or so all I have to do is reset or repower the modem and the miner starts working again.  I have had Comcast out to check my lines and they say they are OK.  They are coming back next Tuesday to update my wiring and I am hoping that will help but I don't really think that is the problem since they say I have a good connection now.  My download speed is about 24mbs and my upload speed is about 3.6 mbs, or were when I checked them yesterday.  I am running an e8500 with two XFX 6870s and two BItForce Singles.  I am getting around 2000mh/s with my setup with spikes up to 3000mh/s but generally staying around 2000-2100 mh/s.  We need our Internet so it is frustrating not being able to use it and the miner at the same time.  I can't seem to find much else about this subject so I am tending to think it is something in my setup that is the problem.  Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions on how to handle this?
4  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Wallet just got emptied on: May 11, 2012, 02:38:31 AM
I opened up my wallet to update it and catch up.  When I went to check to see if it was done all my bitcoins had been sent out.  It was only 10 but it was all I had.  I've got pretty good anti-spyware, anti-virus, and firewalls on my computer.  I can see the address but I don't figure that is any help at all.  Should I delete everything and redownload and start from scratch or what? Nobody ever gets on my computer but me so it didn't happen from here but somehow through the Internet.  Just how secure are the wallets and how often is this happening?  I was under the impression that they were pretty secure against this kind of thing.  Anyway, it seems like it will be hard to trust the one I have again.  That is why I am thinking of deleting everything and starting over with new downloads.  What does anyone think about that?  Any suggestions?
5  Other / Beginners & Help / Trouble downloading blocks on: January 25, 2012, 07:59:20 PM
Hi, I'm pirate1 and I have been mining for about 3 months.  I just ran into a problem.  I recently moved just over 4 bitcoins to my wallet from my pool.  My wallet froze up and wouldn't download the new blocks.  I ended up deleting the blkindex.dat and blk001.dat files and starting over.  It went up to 160,808 and stopped.  I then upgraded my wallet to the newest version.  It shows all 9 of my old transactions but is still froze at 160,808 blocks. It shows it is catching up but nothing changes.  The little pinwheel on the bottom is turning.  I tried downloading the latest block file and placing it in the folder where I had deleted the two files but it would not work with it there and I had to delete it.  I did save a copy of my wallet.dat file but have not had to use it for anything.  The message at the bottom of the wallet says I may need to upgrade or other nodes may need to upgrade.  I did just upgrade my wallet to the latest version.  What else do I need to do?  Can anyone help with this?
