1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Waves integration into ledger. on: May 30, 2018, 06:09:06 PM
Ive noticed that waves are getting integrated into the ledger now so coins can be safely stored, This was one of the reasons i sold a while back was because of concerns about staking and security. Does anyone happen to know if it would be possible to stake when your coins are in ledger or would you have to have them in a waves wallet or something? Might be a nice time to buy back in.
2  Other / Meta / Is there another spate of account hacking attempts going on? on: April 07, 2018, 04:29:47 PM
Ive had a password reset email sent from this proxy ip address in Brazil 187.36.230.230 which obviously wasnt me. Are others getting the same thing or am i just lucky?
3  Economy / Service Discussion / Yobit campaign over? on: December 21, 2017, 04:29:48 PM
I noticed no one else dons the yobit signature anymore and that the wallet has been dry for a few months id say. Does anyone know if the campaign is now over?
4  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / I propose core forks to bigger blocks now. on: December 17, 2017, 04:09:10 PM
As everyone is probably aware, fees have risen to unacceptable levels for old and new users of bitcoin. For months ive read about how the lightning network is going to solve this problem but in my opinion the lightning network is going to be too little too late. We've already upgraded to segwit and in its current state is no use.

Its well documented that the 1mb block size was a temporary limit so why not increase this even by a small amount to ease up the congestion? I fear bitcoin is going to stall and strangle itself if nothing is done.
5  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / scanning a paper wallet and fees? on: December 16, 2017, 10:00:07 AM
Does scanning a paper wallet import your private key into whichever wallet you use to scan it or does it initiate a transaction costing fees to send it from paper to wallet? Ive got one i need to scan but im a bit worried its going to cost me more in fees than its worth if it needs to make a transaction.
6  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / How to view addresses after sending bitcoin? (bitcoin core) on: December 03, 2017, 10:37:58 AM
I know how to view all my wallets that have received bitcoin but can anyone tell me how i view where the outputs came from after ive sent a payment? The only thing i can see when i view the details is the address it was sent to.

Thanks in advance.

Edit, It may be change addresses im looking for but im not sure. What im trying to do is export out all my cash and gold but using "listreceivedbyaddress" i am only getting a portion of my hodlings and not the whole lot.

8  Other / Off-topic / Custom network russian numbers?? on: November 02, 2017, 07:25:24 PM
Has anyone else had any phone calls from russian numbers with a custom netwrok? I received one today and when i answered there was a static noise and when i tried to return the call it came up as ive dialled a wrong number. Im wondering if this is just some kind of spam call or it could be anythnig to do with an attemted phone/bitcoin hack?
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / System freezes when miner is shutdown on: September 29, 2017, 04:17:57 PM
Does anyone know of a fix for this? For some reason whenever i close down my miner my whole system crashes, nothing shows as not responding (windows 7) but the system drags and nothing short of a manual reset will sort it.

Ive tried lowerimg the intensity of my miner to see if that would fix it but no joy.

Any ideas?
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Most promising low hashrate coin to mine? on: September 18, 2017, 03:30:06 PM
Since mining has taken a dip im willing to point my cards at something that earns me less than what i need to break even. Does anyone have any tips on potential coins to mine that may pick up in a year or two? I know finding one that goes up a massive percentage is pretty slim but i dont mind taking the chance and mining something different for the next few months.
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Anyone mining with a gtx 970 and able to keep cool? on: August 20, 2017, 10:20:54 AM
Ive got a msi 970 in my rig that i have throttled back to power limit of 50 and fans on 100%. Even still im sitting at 91-92c, Ive already cleaned out the heatsink and removed and reapplied paste. I didnt think thermal paste was an issue in the first place due to the heatsink getting too hot to touch so its obviously doing its job, its just not getting the heat removed from the heatsink. Airflow in the case is pretty good since my 1080 and 1060 sit at around 55-60c.

Maybe the 970s just run this hot when stressed? the problem is though because it gets so hot i cant really work it as hard as id like to. Has anyone had a similar issue with this card?
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / any recommendation over gtx 1080 ti? on: June 24, 2017, 06:22:18 PM
I was initially going to just add a 1080 but it seems more cost effective to add a 1080 ti to my system. This is purely going to be used for mining since i dont game much these days but thats not to say i wont again soon. Can anyone recommend a better card or even a few cards that would make for a good mining rig. Ive currently got a 970 mining so it will just be used to add to that.

And on a side note im seeing a big variation in prices of 1080 ti from around £630 to about £800ish. I will probably over clock whatever i get anyway so is there any difference in these cards for mining use?

Thanks
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Do you need to specify each card when using multiple gpus? on: June 24, 2017, 10:22:16 AM
Hi,

Ive always only mined with my one 970 but im considoring picking up a 1080 to stick in as well. Does anyone know if i need to edit my bat file to state ive got a second card or will it just automatically mine with both?

thanks
14  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Are there any better file recvovery programs for android about? on: June 02, 2017, 08:39:59 PM
I thought it would b worth trying to restore the half a bitcoin or however much it was i lost when i factory reset my old phone some time back. It wasnt too bad of a loss a while back but it would be nice to recover now. Does anyone know of something that would be capable of doing this? Most recovery programs ive tried only recover photos or texts etc, I had an actual backup of a wallet on the phone except it was stored on the phones internal memory which obviously didnt survive the factory reset.

Any ideas?
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Are there any new coins/under appreciated worth mining? on: March 04, 2017, 09:41:47 AM
Im wanting to get back into mining but since i only use a single gpu im wondering if anyone has any recommendations on a new coin or unappreciated coin worth mining where i can get a decent amount of coins that could be worth something in the future. This is a gamble i know but at the current hashrates its pretty much pointless mining xmr or eth so im happy to gamble on something else.  Failing that i will just set up vanitygen and crunch some new addresses Wink
16  Other / Off-topic / Can anyone recommend a good vpn? on: November 24, 2016, 04:46:15 PM
Im sure this is the one of the best places to ask this question since bitcoins roots are to do with encryption even if its not as anonymous as other coins. Basically i dont mind paying for my vpn but id like something as fast as possible and hopefully one i can use straight through my router so as all my devices are covered.

Can anyone tell me what they use or recommend?

thanks
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Any way to back off ethminer by 5% or so? on: October 18, 2016, 08:33:00 AM
HI,

Does anyone know if there is a command i can use to limit how much of my gpu ethminer will actually use? because i currently have it running at 99% it causes my web browser to freeze and makes youtube videos etc tricky to watch. Im sure there was a way to limit the usage but cant seem to find out how to do it.

18  Economy / Trading Discussion / \is it possible to but bitcoin at spot price? on: October 08, 2016, 06:40:26 AM
Are there any exchanges that allow you to actually but at spot price? Ive never used coinbase or anything like this, The only place ive ever bought is localbitcoins and its always well over spot price and then theres lbts fees on top of that as well. With the prices the way they are i dont really want to be spending more than i have to when buying.
19  Economy / Trading Discussion / LBC £34 over spot price on: August 19, 2016, 06:47:30 AM
Ive always used local bitcoins as my go to place to buy bitcoins but the prices are getting out of hand, Im not willing to pay £34 over spot price to buy using a bank transfer. Where do most uk based people buy their bitcoins these days for decent prices?
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Ethereum pool mining is a mess on: July 27, 2016, 05:35:29 PM
Hi, Ive posted a thread earlier telling problems of eth being sent to my wallet but not being shown but can be seen in blockexplorer as seen here (https://etherscan.io/address/0xA216031Ca6746Ab40B5bE103db21F3Bd117b5815) Basically that 0.5 i cant touch, its gone but i dont know where it just doesnt show up.

So anyway as a text ive sent from dwarfpool another 0.2 and its just vanished into thin air, heres the transaction (0xf65a55c20a8c973814fb65b91d28e317db1bd6e609d53270acaf82226e8650f6) which as seen here (https://etherscan.io/tx/0xf65a55c20a8c973814fb65b91d28e317db1bd6e609d53270acaf82226e8650f6) isnt even recognised on the blockchain.

Whats going on? is it just me having these problems or is eth total fucked?

This is mining from dwarfpool btw.
