4  Economy / Speculation / Trend From 440$ to 625$ on: May 31, 2014, 05:05:15 AM
Every since the price started to climb back from 440 i am seeing a trend

1) Huge market buys pour in across all the exchanges to raise the price by 40-50USD when the market volume dries up pretty much to base levels (5000BTC/day on stamp)
2) Buying stops and re-emerges in small bouts(upto price in step 1 ) as few others resort to profit booking.
3) Waits or continues with step 2 until volumes drop down to base levels

Start step 1

440----490
490----530
530----590
590----625

We have now just finished in step 1 yesterday and entered step 2.

For those who wish to move to next cycle hold and let volumes drop...

For those who wish to stay in this cycle sell and try to keep the volumes up and delay the next cycle

Remember, What ever you do BTC price will eventually finds it price based on demand/supply

Thanks
Pradeep

8  Economy / Service Discussion / Virwox suspends BTC withdrawals on: February 12, 2014, 08:57:38 AM
2014-02-12: IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT : BITCOIN WITHDRAWALS SUSPENDED!

Warning
Because of a denial-of-service attack against the Bitcoin protocol, we have to suspend Bitcoin withdrawals temporarily until a software fix is issued.

No funds have been lost and no funds are at risk.

This is a denial-of-service attack made possible by some misunderstandings in Bitcoin wallet implementations. These misunderstandings have simple solutions that are being implemented as we speak, and we're confident everything will be back to normal in a few days.

Bitcoin withdrawals which are on hold pending review will remain on hold until it is safe to process them. You may also cancel such pending withdrawals (from the transaction history) if you wish to do so.

We will communicate any further developments regarding this issue. Thank you for your understanding.
9  Bitcoin / Press / [2013-18-12] Dabur scion bites into Bitcoins on: December 18, 2013, 01:59:55 AM
http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/Business/India-Business/Dabur-scion-bites-into-Bitcoins/articleshow/27546979.cms

MUMBAI: Riding on the heightened interest around the digital cryptocurrency Bitcoin, Dabur scion Gaurav Burman has invested in itBit, a Singapore-based Bitcoin exchange, and plans to bring the platform to India over a period of time. Burman has bought in his personal capacity a minority stake in the exchange, which is building a global platform for trading in Bitcoins with US dollars, Singapore dollars and the euro with technology support from Nasdaq.

The startup has raised $3.25 million in its latest funding round, and $5.5 million in total, led by the likes of Canaan Partners and RRE Ventures with participation from Liberty City Ventures. Silicon Valley investors have been pumping in big money, despite regulatory issues, into many virtual currency startups. The price of Bitcoin, which is not yet backed by any central bank, soared above $1,000 for the first time in November this year.

"A credible Bitcoin exchange platform that allows conversions into other major currencies in a secure and transparent manner will encourage wider usage of the currency. The investment is also an opportunity to study the business potential in a more mature financial market like Singapore, and we will consider the possibility of bringing the platform to India in the future," Burman told TOI.
