1  Economy / Economics / Fedcoin, when the central bank copies Bitcoin / Question on: June 08, 2016, 04:19:45 AM
Hi,

I invest in Bitcoin but this article concerns me a little:

http://observer.com/2016/06/fedcoin/

Putting the tinfoil hat on for a second, let's say that Satoshi worked for a government.  And let's say that government, before issuing it's own digital currency or Fedcoin wanted to see how Bitcoin played out in the marketplace.  If governments started issuing their own digital currency, wouldnt that truly be the death of bitcoin? Thoughts?
2  Economy / Trading Discussion / Margin calculator or math for reinvesting gains. on: June 07, 2016, 01:29:02 AM
Hi,

I am trying to figure out the math for reinvesting gains on margin.  So if say I sold gains on a long position every time btc or ltc went up 5 or 10% how would I compute that?  For example everytime I made 50 ltc in usd I would roll that into my margin account and keep it maxed out.  I have been scribbling on a piece of paper for the last hour, but based on my math, the rolling over formula isn't any better than buying on margin and holding.  Thanks.

4  Economy / Service Discussion / coinbase review / Do not use coinbase! on: April 27, 2015, 11:53:23 PM

I was hesitant to place a buy order with these folks after reading story after story about how they would cancel a buy order.  I placed a buy order with these guys yesterday for 10 million bits, 10 btc,  and today I received an email stating that my buy order was canceled.  I am pretty upset because I had to jump through bank account and identity verification hoops only to have them say sorry, better luck next time.  I also found it rather convienent that they canceled the order after the price went up.  Had it went down I am sure they would have been more than happy to push the order through.  It's my own fault though, I knew they had a history of pulling this crap but I tried anyway.
