Has anyone checked when these miners were put on website for sale?

I am checking once a day. Yesterday there was nothing on bitmain then today all of a sudden they sold out already. seriously?! It also appeared that they opened bulk order for these two batches.
22  Economy / Exchanges / recent slow eft withdrawal at QuadrigaCX on: August 14, 2016, 07:18:41 PM
Has anyone recently made a withdrawal from QuadrigaCX? How is the speed?

I have made a withdrawal on July 31, (Aug 1 being a holiday), but it's been two weeks since and I am still waiting.
23  Bitcoin / Mining support / S9 with chips appear as XXXXX on: August 07, 2016, 07:13:09 AM
Folks,

I have owned S1's, S3's, S5's, S7's, and now an S9. S9 is the first miner that I have so frequently seen chips turn xxxxx in some weird situations.

In my experience, it seemed to relate to either an unexpected connectivity disruption, or pool issues. However, all the previous miners could handle these situations without letting the chips fail to function. I am still unable to summarize the scenario that could make S9 chips become xxxx. Every time this happens, I have to reboot it to recover the chips.

What's even worse, is I have noticed it could start with a few chips become xxxx randomly on one or more boards, then it soon (within a minute or two) would spread to the entire row (board), then after a while, a second board could die, then another while, your last board.

The most annoying thing is S9 does not indicate such state to me. Like an S5, it beeped the hell out of me if network drops. this S9 would just quietly suicide without even lowering the fan speed.

Have you experience such situations and if so, what are your observations and thoughts?

Thanks for sharing.
24  Bitcoin / Hardware / S9 losing hashrates and rising error rate on: August 06, 2016, 05:51:18 PM
I got my S9 half a month ago.

At the beginning everything's fine just until today.

First I noticed the hash rate on MRR would drop to 0. If I could login to S9 web config, I saw all chips were XXXXX, then I could recover it by soft reboot. But there were also times the web config was down, then I could only recover it by power cycling.

This kind of issues happened every a few days previously, but it had happened 5 times now in the last 12 hours. I have also noticed a much higher error rate of 0.003% in comparison with 0.0003% at the beginning.

The last occurrence of this issue was in 20 minutes from power cycling. I am so worried it is dying!

any suggestions? I can upload a screenshot taken right before I reboot it later.
25  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Avalon 16nm miner to be for sale in this September on: July 22, 2016, 02:51:09 AM
Folks,

Today I read the news that Shandong Luyitong Intelligent Electric PLC (the company that intends to acquire Canaan) had disclosed their correspondence to Shenzhen Stock Exchange's queries on this transaction. This lengthy document can be found from SZ stock exchange (http://www.szse.cn/UpFiles/fxklwxhj/NMK30042314281255HF.pdf).

On page 39/119, a paragraph outlined their plans for the remaining of 2016, including a status update of their 16nm miner progress.

Apparently they have completed the prototype and specification. The new generation of AvalonMiner will use chips from TSMC. They expect first batch of the chips to arrive in mid-to-late August, then the first batch of AvalonMiner sale would commence in September. Expected sales volume will be 80k to 100k.

Thoughts?
26  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / S9 11.85TH/s for sale today in China on: July 21, 2016, 03:23:23 AM
Another 999 S9's will soon join the network. I am so disappointed that they will be sold for cheaper, with a bonus APW-1600 psu, and a 300 yuan coupon for future purchase. Anyone know if international buyers may receive similar benefit in the near future?
27  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Seeking for a gpu miner component list on: July 14, 2016, 06:35:17 AM
Hi,

I am not sure if this has already been requested for so just giving it a shot.

I want to take a break from mining btc. I only mined casually in the past with 1 R9 280x. This time I would like to build a dedicated miner computer with 3~5 cards. Can someone suggest me a detail list of computer parts for reference? I live in Canada btw so have access to most of the parts via Newegg.ca for example.

Thanks.
28  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Requirements for a small custom farm on: June 24, 2016, 05:42:43 AM
Hi folks,

I would like to know how many square feet should I be looking at if I decide to host 50x AntMiner S7? To narrow my search for a proper location, should I start with warehouse rentals? Please share your experience and insights as I am trying to work on a small business plan.

Thanks.
29  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Mining with specified graphic card on: June 17, 2015, 02:21:52 AM
Hi folks,

I have a question regarding mining with a specified GPU. Currently my build is for entertainment and casual mining. I would like to use the embedded Intel graphic card (hooked up with a monitor) for watching video and the Asus R9 280X for mining.

I was getting errors with sgminer 5.1.1 while using the above setup:
------------------------------------------
ADL found less devices than opencl!
There is possibly more than one display attached to a GPU
Use the gpu map feature to reliably map OpenCL to ADL
WARNING: Number of OpenCL and ADL decices did not match!
Hardware monitoring may NOT match up with devices!
-------------------------------------------

I can only mine with 280x while my monitor is connected to it. Below is the configuration I use:
"device":"0",
"gpu-platform" : "1",
"xintensity" : "14",
"keccak-unroll" : "0",
"hamsi-expand-big" : "4",
"algorithm" : "ckolivas",
"lookup-gap" : "2",
"worksize" : "256",
"thread-concurrency" : "8192",
"gpu-engine" : "900-1070",
"gpu-memclock" : "1400-1600",
"gpu-fan" : "20-75",
"gpu-powertune" : "20",
"temp-cutoff" : "90",
"temp-overheat" : "75",
"temp-target" : "70",
"gpu-threads" : "2",
"auto-fan" : true,
"auto-gpu" : true,
"failover-only" : true,
"failover-switch-delay" : "300",
"queue" : "1",
"api-listen" : "true"

Notice that without gpu-platform:1 it would not run.

Thanks for your input.
30  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Question on PCI-E raiser cable and GPU miner on: June 13, 2015, 04:35:22 AM
Hi folks,

I am about to start building a gpu miner myself. Before I place orders, I have some questions on the raiser cables. Nowadays they all seem to come with either SATA or Molex power ports. But what exactly needs such power? Does this mean that once my GPU is connected with the raiser cable (on the x16 terminal), it would no longer require PCI-E 6/8 pins to power up?

I could not find relevant answers maybe this question is just too naive.

Thanks for your help.
31  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Newbie question on R9 280X miner on: May 26, 2015, 04:46:55 AM
Hi folks,

I am recently playing with an Asus R9 280X to test altcoin mining performance using the kernel from http://cryptomining-blog.com/4819-new-sgminer-with-optimized-quark-and-qubit-kernels/

However, I am only getting 2.4Mhs for quarkcoin instead of 11Mhs. I also tested scrypt, my speed was 600khs. I would like to know what catalyst I should be using and amd developer suite, etc.

I currently installed 14.12 Catalyst Omega and below is my config:

"nfactor" : "10",
"xintensity" : "18",
"lookup-gap" : "2",
"worksize" : "256",
"thread-concurrency" : "8192",
"gpu-engine" : "1070",
"gpu-memclock" : "1600",
"gpu-fan" : "30-65",
"gpu-powertune" : "0",
"temp-cutoff" : "90",
"temp-overheat" : "75",
"temp-target" : "65",
"gpu-threads" : "2",
"auto-fan" : true,
"auto-gpu" : true,
"queue" : "1",
"api-listen" : "true"

Thanks for your help.
