1  Economy / Gambling discussion / PH banned online cockfighting - Worst gambling-related cases recorded! on: May 04, 2022, 08:57:03 PM
PH President Rodrigo Duterte has approved the recommendation of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) to stop e-sabong or online cockfighting operations.

Online E-Sabong (cockfighting) is a legit and regulated gambling industry here in the Philippines. So much hype that many people got hooked on it even those who are not really into that gambling since betting here is so easy and different from the actual betting in the live arena.

The government is supporting online cockfighting here because it's a big help to support the economy during and after the peak of the pandemic. According to statistics, the government is receiving around PHP 60,000,000 (around $1,149,700 USD) per month in a form of taxation and revenue.

But since the hype of online cockfighting here, there are lots of recorded negative effects of gambling up to this date. Some people sold their houses, cars, gadgets, and even a "kid". There are also cases of missing several people on which today, there's still no good progress and that was all related to these gambling.

This was all brought up to the President and even though he was supporting the online cockfighting industry here, he ask his constituents to conduct a survey on the effect of this on all people. The result is WORST that's why ASAP, the President ban right away the online cockfighting and disregard the revenue the government is getting.

Let's discuss: (applies to all gambling-type)

- Do you think that your respective government will do the same even though that gambling is a big contributor to the government's revenue? It's a big sacrifice but no choice since lots of people got wrecked here and there are still unsolved cases of missing people.

- Is it really valid that we should blame the online cockfighting here that's why most people wrecked their lives?

For me, it shouldn't be stopped but should be more regulated strictly. I know there's a thing that can balance this but I don't know the specific term of it. Because of these irresponsible gamblers, the government's revenue got affected which should be a big help now that our country is just slowly rising after years of dealing with the pandemic.
2  Economy / Gambling discussion / Chinese Poker (Pusoy) - On what crypto-gambling site can I play this? on: June 10, 2021, 11:55:31 PM
Does anyone know a crypto-gambling site that offers a game called Chinese Poker?

This is not your typical and usual Poker game. More information here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chinese_poker

Want to test my skills in a gambling site, with an actual money on risk, as I only played with no-risk on some poker game apps.

- The site should be paying even it's not popular.
- Players are verified to be real and we are sure weren't against a robot.
3  Economy / Gambling discussion / New Normal Game Setup - a success or a failure? on: October 14, 2020, 10:57:34 PM
Some of the sports leagues that got canceled due to the pandemic already finished with their respective resumes with some still on-going and lots of future events will take place under the new normal setup.

We have seen how these leagues put big efforts to somehow bring the sports back while people don't need to go outside to watch. They also think of a way on how to help players feel that the intense and excitement is still there performing in front of the fans.

Even with low ratings and small revenue (as expected), I consider this new normal setup as a success. It's not that easy to set up an own bubble amid the dangerous pandemic.

Kudos to their effort.
4  Economy / Gambling discussion / Do you think players can play properly against a recovered Covid-19 opponent? on: July 01, 2020, 11:15:35 PM
First of all, this is not about discrimination. This is about players feeling. The sports covered here are those with physical contact.

We all know that in some sports leagues, some players are being infected with the pandemic virus.

Now that some sports leagues are bound to resume and others are already resumed, do you think it will play a big role in their performance if somehow a team is against a team with recovered Covid-19 players on it? The mindset is still there that even these former Covid-19 players are now cleared and 100%, the worry is still there.

For me, yes. It can play as a factor in my future betting.
5  Economy / Gambling discussion / Home Court advantage = Not an advantage now because of no-live audience? on: June 02, 2020, 08:40:27 PM

Home-court advantage is one of the factors that some sports bettors are looking for picking a team alongside stats, match history, injuries, and current standings.

Not that the team with that advantage will win 100% but the psychological contribution of a live audience really boosts the morale of any players, at any sports, making it an effective recipe to win.

Looking at the home-away stats in the previous season at these leagues at different sports, we can see how being in a home advantage benefited a team.

Baseball (2018 Major League Baseball)
Home team won 1,277 games (52.6%)
Away team won 1,149 games (47.4%)

Basketball (2018-19 NBA Season)
Home team won 1,230 games (71%)
Away team won 501 games (29%)

Soccer (201819 Premier League)
Home team won 181 matches (47%)
Away team won 128 matches (34%)

With some sports likely to resume in next month or few, or being resumed recently, after being suspended or halted due to Covid-19 pandemic spread, one safety measure that will be imposed is a no-live-audience, literally playing without audience presence and we can see some sports already feel the experience of playing on that environment.

What do you think, does this home-court advantage, still an advantage now? Do you think Moneyline odds will now be different from now on especially if both teams are equal in strength?
6  Economy / Gambling discussion / What sports do you think that can resume amid Covid-19 scare. on: May 20, 2020, 06:22:04 PM
It's not easy for other sports to just resume their activity because of lots of factors especially in a sport where it involves lots of players and staff.

What sports do you think that can be resumed amid the current situation without a hassle but still following the health protocol and standards?

Here is my list.

- Billiards
- Swimming
- Golf
- Boxing
- Poker

These sports can also be played without an audience.
7  Economy / Gambling discussion / Vaccine against Covid-19 should be made before sports events will take place? on: May 08, 2020, 01:04:27 AM
Most sports events are halted, suspended, postponed, and canceled because of the pandemic virus for about to 1-2 months now. Within that short period, the damage is serious so I can't imagine if it will take a year or over.

Seen several posts here about the vaccine that should be made first before resuming. It makes sense and the best thing to do but providing the timeframe of creating a vaccine against Covid-19 that might take a year(s), is the world can afford to wait for that vaccine?

So what do you think?

a) wait for the vaccine even it will take years, end of the discussion

b) resume slowly with several considerations such as no audience, limited number of staffs or any important things to do before considering resuming, unless the area or place was heavily affected

Since it's almost impossible to expect a vaccine until the end of the year or maybe the 3rd quarter of the next year, I will go with B but with lots of considerations (But I'm hoping I'm wrong. We all want the vaccine and experts around the world are truly working hard for it).
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / -Question- Waves Decentralized Exchanges on: August 14, 2017, 07:53:02 PM
Hi crypto community,

Do you guys know how to setup favorites trading pairs on Waves Exchanges? The list on the right side of the page (BTC/USD, Waves/BTC, etc). I know this is kind of a noob question but I already browse the platform but found nothing. This is to save me for hassle checking since when internet is slow you need to wait for the assets name in the drop list to be able to click it. Or it's not possible?

Thank you.

10  Economy / Exchanges / C-CEX.COM annoying login email prompt on: January 28, 2017, 03:08:09 AM
Recently received again another Authorization failed prompt in my email.

How come this is happening in C-CEX.COM? If there is an unusual login attempt how those persons involved got access to some of the email address listed in this site. Im surprised why this is happening since the registered email address must only be accessible to the admins and staffs itself of the site.

Any of you guys experiencing this?

15  Other / New forum software / The new "Show new replies to your posts" on: December 02, 2015, 03:42:27 PM
If possible, will the new forum implement the new link for showing new replies?

What I mean is whenever a user click his subscribed thread it will redirect to the last seen post rather than showing some pages. It will be a big help to minimize time for backreading. Hope got my point.

Just a suggestion.
