1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Fan speed on: June 02, 2017, 09:43:59 PM
Need help. Fans running at 18 to 20 percent and cant get them to manually speed up. I have tried trixx and msi. I also used -fanmin 80 in claymore and nothing will work. I had the latest drivers installed and thought that might be the issue so i uninstalled and reinstalled 15.12. Im on windows 10 and this rig has 2-290 and 2-380x cards in it. Any suggestions  Huh  Huh  Huh
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Which algo pulls less power on: February 17, 2017, 01:54:52 PM
Just wondering based on my 380x running at 850/1550 which algo would consume less power. ZEC, ETH, or XMR? I dont have anything to test with. So I am asking someone to do this for me. Thanks
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Mining rigs and taxs on: January 24, 2017, 05:49:07 PM
This might not be the correct place to ask but has anyone successfully deducted there rigs and expenses for mining? I have done a bit of googling but not definitive answer. Just looking for answers on how to go about it and should I even bother.  Huh
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Alt mining power consumption on: January 19, 2017, 04:04:26 PM
What is the power consumption of alt coin mining. Just as a general rule. I understand this question is hard to answer because of tuning and bios modding. I would test myself but all my rigs are running on 240v and i only have a 120v watt meter.

ETH:

R9 390   180W
R9 380X 140W
RX470    125W
GTX970  140W

ZEC:?
LBRY:?
XMR:?

If any one can give a ball park figure that would be awesome. I run r9 380x cards and i understand that they will all be different be there must be some order as to consumption.

Thanks.

Or i can just sell them through eBay. Either way let me know if you are interested. Selling part or all.

Send me your offers. Im gonna list on ebay for 175 each on the 380x and 190 for the 290's. I will work with someone if you want them all.

7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Bandwidth on: July 13, 2016, 01:47:58 PM
Just wondering what kind of band width is needed for mining. I seem to have issues occasionally with duplicate shares and it seems like my latency has gotten high after adding multiple rigs. It was around 50-75ms but is 175ms plus now. I have VDSL at 20mbs/3mbs just wondering cause im adding more rigs soon.

Edit: Just looked at my rigs and some of them shares are returning 900ms up to 18000ms. With rejects coming in also. This is the first issue I have had that I am aware of. Guess it could be pol side but just wondering. Also getting fail to check work on nano sia.
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / BTC PRO Motherboard issues on: July 03, 2016, 11:26:37 PM
Is anyone having any issues with BTC PRO boards. I have 9 rigs that i am setting up. I have 5 of them up and running but on two of the boards im having issues with pcie slots. One has a single slot that is not working and another has two slots that dont work. I have switched cards and risers around with no luck. Does any one have a solution or the same issue?
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / SOLO ETH mining or no on: June 28, 2016, 03:13:49 PM
So my small farm is almost set up. I will have about 1.2gh when all up and running. Would it be worth while for me to solo or stay with a pool?
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / GPU Cooling on: June 27, 2016, 01:37:10 PM
Can someone help me figure the air flow needed to cool 11kw worth of GPUs. I have built a closet and am trying to figure what amount of air is needed to keep these cards at good temps mid 60s would be ok at this point. I will be using outside air to cool these cards. Right now temps are mid 90.

I know it may not the best setup but i dont have many options currently and losing money everyday these cards are not mining. I am using one of the 5 shelf wire racks with hanging cards 12 per rack along 2 mother boards and 2 power supplies. Pics will come soon.

I just need a good idea on how much air i need to pull through the closet to keep them running at decent temps. I was going to use a 1500 cfm 14" exhaust fan but im not sure that is enough. So before wasting money on materials i dont need please help me.

Thanks to anyone that can help.  Huh
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Buying New GPUS on: June 17, 2016, 05:56:40 PM
Im buying some new cards to add to my mining setup. I have been looking at the 380x cards and thats what im currently setup with. I found some Sapphire 290 4gb cards for about the same price as the 380x and was wondering if it would be wise to stick with the newer tech or go for the 290 based on about 10mh/s difference from what i have read. Any suggestions. I would like to wiat for the 480 but it may not be available right away and prices will likely be higher than 199.

EDIT: Couldnt pass up the 290 for 200 each. Ordered 5 of them. I plan on adding 8 new rigs with 6 cards each over the next week or so. I may try and hold off on half for the new rx 480 or 470 but i need to be mining now so waiting just seems foolish.
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Ethereum Pool Comparisons and Experience on: June 15, 2016, 02:45:31 PM
I would like to make this about pool experiences. If anyone has anything to post good or bad please do so. I know there was something similar started some where about one persons experience but lets get more people to voice there opinions about there favorite and least favorite pools. Make sure to post scam pools aswell.

I will be doing some testing myself to try and help.

13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / New Build on: June 10, 2016, 08:58:51 PM
Ok. So after a month of mining on my three rigs I am adding more. I have considered waiting till the 480 comes out but thats 3 weeks of lost money. Well actually two by the time i get all equipment ordered and setup. I recently purchased 12 Sapphire 380x and 4 MSI 380. With a bit of tweaking and overclock I can get the MSI cards to run about the same speed as the Sapphire. I dont really want to over clock but would love to get them undervolted for less power consumption.

I am going to purchase 6 more rigs each with 6 cards. I am wanting opinions before I order. Does anyone have suggestions? On my last rigs i purchased the Lepa 1600w Power supply. They are kinda expensive. I dont currently have a meter to check the amps being pulled but would like to know if it would be cheaper and to buy multiple power supplies to power 6 cards. Some advise on that would be very nice. I have had no issues with the Lepa at this point but I do know some people have.

I will be ordering by the middle of next week so if anyone wants to shed their thought im open to listen. Dont really need any negative things either unless its gonna help with my build. I do know Ethereum will not last forever but maybe i can get these paid for and be ready for the next coin to roll out.

Also thoughts on keeping these rigs cool. Im not sure the best way but i talked to a HVAC friend of mine and told hime how and where my current setup is. We come to the conclusion of using the outside air from under the house with a filter. Will pull the cool air in with a large 12 or 14" exhaust fan and then push into the attic. I am going to work on the plans this weekend for this. It will be som sort of enclosed simi sealed cabinet (maybe finished drywall) for great air flo. So this will do three things at once. It will draw air under my house which will keep it dry and mold free. It will also cool the cards as its sucked past them and if there is any cool air left (which im sure is still way cooler than my attic in the middle of the day) will be pushed into the attic to keep a nice air flow for better cooling of my home. If anyone can see a problem with this please let me know because this is my current plan. It may take too fans and two cabinets to cool 9 rigs but seems like it would work.

Looking for any suggestions.

15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Adding more than 6 GPUS to a rig on: May 10, 2016, 04:03:31 PM
After two weeks i finally have my two rigs up and running. Should receive my first payout some time today from ethpool. I have two H81 pro boards and 6 sapphire r9 280x with Lepa 1600w power on each. I was thinking of adding two more cards to each rig. Can I purchase this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIAAK94494220 and still be ok with just 1600w supply or should i not do it. I dont have a power meter to test the current wattage. AMD states 225w but idk what they are currently pulling. Its all stock and no overclocking. I would like to also see if someone has a modded bios for this card. I remember reading somewhere that they had the wattage down to around 145w and still pulling over 20mh. That would be awesome if anyone has this.  Grin

Running Windows 10 pro one with 4gb and one 8gb memory.
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Help with mining rig on: April 26, 2016, 04:10:20 PM
Huh Hello all, I have been reading and searching  for more than two weeks. Its really hard to figure out whats the best direction to go. I thought at first to go and mine bitcoin with S7's but after really figuring power and setup cost im not sure i would ever ROI. I have about 6k to spend on a mining setup and would really like a 6 month or less ROI (if its still possible). I have read and read till my head hurts. I was thinking of getting 3 of the ibelink ASICs but they are now out of stock and who knows when they will be back. After much research and doing some figuring with cost Im thninking maybe I should just get 2 or 3 GPU rigs up and running. There are so many GPUs to choose from. IDK what is the difference between the gigabyte, msi, and sapphire. They all make the same R series cards. I was thinking maybe going with the Nano even though it is a bit more expensive it should be able to mine for sometime. Would love listen to anyone that is willing to help. My power is about .10 after taxes for residential rates. I would like to get started sooner than later.  Huh
