1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / My computer have just been hacked for BITCOIN ransom! on: May 15, 2016, 03:07:34 PM
Have heard that kind of hacking software before, which encrypted all files on my computer, and when my brother have been using the computer (or course carelessly), it is hacked and they demand a 1.2BTC ransom... These are just one more bad news of BTC, and even make my family members have even worse image on bitcoin... And we decided not to pay the coins to the hacker as all important files have been backed up.

Whay do you think?
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Open source exchange scripts, can they be used with simple hosting? on: November 15, 2015, 10:23:48 AM
-Sorry if it don't suit in this board. The exchange I'm asking is going to be an alt2alt exchange.

I have seen some open-source exchange scripts, and I decided to run one if the hosting prices is affordable (few dollars per month). However I only found something called 'shared hosting' and I'm not sure if I can run a coin-client there (and hence an exchange).

VPS is too expensive for me, so don't give me suggestions about using it.
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / How can I rent rigs to solo mine altcoins on my full node? on: October 24, 2015, 03:22:49 AM
The problem is: I have a full node of an altcoin, and I want to solo mine with CPU at first (and it's very slow that I can't generate a single block). Also I don't want to pay fees to pools as I can generate tens of blocks when joining it. Then I decided to rent some miners on rental sites to solo mine for me. However my full node is only on a computer. How can I do?
4  Other / Beginners & Help / What thing exactly being hashed? on: October 20, 2015, 09:07:54 AM
I have seen this page: https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Block_hashing_algorithm and seen bitcoin is hashing a 80 byte block header. However, when I gather information for block 379726, then I got a hex string of 00000003000000000000000004174cb956530251b08d70ae38fb0c028c73a2c7a859a676d9b8780 c956fa5af44815a35c2067b3b4d9639a8796faa770182dd76ed70366d5625fd4218120f14c3ef30 f4 with hash of 9fd1d6cbabefb73bfc51568c3d5eac394f6b1c3b04377e51684a88aa3951ef6b. This mustn't be what bitcoin is hashing (bitcoin hashes have many leading zeros). Then what exactly bitcoin is hashing?

Sorry if being in wrong section.
5  Economy / Digital goods / [WTS] PERMANENT BANNED account on: August 22, 2015, 12:57:51 PM
As Bannedseller, I'm selling a banned account from my another friend.
The account was created in March, and was banned in April. It don't have potential activity, but it have an untrusted positive feedback on depth 2, or a light green trust when viewing at depth 4.
He know the account won't worth anything, however he told me just to try it, and he'll tip me half amount of what I got. He is just looking for few cents.

Simple information:
Activity: 40+
Posts: 70+
Registered: March 2015
Trust: Neutral/Light green on depth 4
Other info: Permanent banned 4 months ago
Price: BTC0.0001 (negotiable)

Will lock the thread if there's no asks in 7 days.
6  Economy / Lending / Need 0.01 loan on: August 19, 2015, 04:56:14 AM
Hi everyone, I need a 0.01 loan.
Here are the details:
Length: 7 days
Amount: 0.01
Interest: 0.002
Reason: Private
Address: 1PaDW4ZbJnDV9Ua2G8RzuVikehnk8YdwxT
Collateral: My account (which have 70 potential activity) 100 'Ambercoin'

I know that my account is just enough (or just not enough) to cover the amount, however since the minimum purchase of the site (which I lend the money for) is 0.01 BTC, I don't need amounts less than that. If you think my account is not enough as the collateral, I can also provide ~15 extra 'Ambercoin' as collateral (which worth approximately 0.0001 per coin). However since I can't reach my computer now (I'm on my phone), I can only send it a day later, so that's why I don't offer this as collateral at the beginning.

When you take my account as collateral, you can only change the personal message, and other contact info.

Self-moderated to delete posts such as 'I can't lend you 0.01BTC as your collateral is not enough, I can lend you part'.

7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / [WTS] Full Altcoin profile - closed on: August 16, 2015, 07:52:37 AM
Q: What is the Full Altcoin profile I'm selling?
A: This includes the most active (Yes the 1st!) member account on the coin's forum, 3.3% of total supply of that coin in wallet.dat, some private keys (paper wallets) containing about 0.15% of supply, and a open offer for selling ~80% of my coins for 1 BTC. Also, at least 10-20% of supply is lost due to closed exchanges, so my share should be higher. The account is also holding a giveaway of ~0.3% of total coin supply, which is not included above, and I will still deliver the private key of the giveaway address.
Q: Which coin it is?
A: I won't disclose it to the public, however I will invite few trusted/high ranked members to verify it.
Q: What is the original value of the coin?
A: It is trading at market cap of 5-10 BTC, however the market is VERY narrow to collect my coins, and is VERY narrow to buy (only ~1% of supply is on market now).
Q: Why do I want to buy this?
A: The coin was well known here a year ago, it's website have even reached an Alexa rank of top 60k. Also it is great to have so much of a coin's total supply!
Q: Is the coin dead?
A: No. Recently it is even added to a new exchange, yobit. The coin is now trading on 2 3 exchanges.

Price: BTC0.05

Escrow is a must if you are not trusted. I'm paying max 1% fee, though free escrow service is preferred.
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Is my BTC on core chain same as that of XT chain? on: August 16, 2015, 04:10:36 AM
So, I just heard of the altcoin called 'Bitcoin XT' and it is forked from bitcoin. I want to ask that, if I make a tx from the core chain or xt chain, will the tx be added to the another chain? Does my balance in core chain the same as in xt chain?
9  Other / Meta / We should ban ManyProofs or not? on: August 08, 2015, 11:56:44 AM
I know the forum rules. Only spammers are banned however scammers don't (but negative trust is left). Also, ManyProofs is a proven scammer. This don't led to a ban originally. However, his alt accounts are making fake lending requests, and also encourage signature spammers to spam on them. This is so called account farming, or in one word, spam. So we should ban him.

A poll is included in the thread to let everyone to express your opinion.

Edit: Just changed the subject of this thread to make the post more neutral.
10  Other / Beginners & Help / So how is a RANDOM domain with traffic worth? on: July 26, 2015, 12:34:58 PM
*Sorry for that if it is in the wrong section.

I wanted to sell my domain for bitcoin. However I've seen here that some domains have an 'estimated' value of few hundred USD is selling for fee dollars. My domain have an estimated value of $100-300 on different domain value estimating websites, and having an Alexa rank of ~9M. My domain don't have a special meaning, it is just make of 5 random non-vowel letters. How much does it really worth? Will someone here buy it?

Thanks for any constructive advices. Self-moderated to delete non-constructive, signature spammer's posts, which will be quoted here for reference.
11  Economy / Digital goods / [WTB] Any BCT accounts that no one wants on: July 14, 2015, 10:40:06 AM
I'm buying bitcointalk accounts, however I want to buy some unusual accounts. The accounts like banned accounts, newbie accounts, negative trust accounts, brand new accounts etc. are what I'm buying.
Post your offer and price wanted here. A 0.0002 tx fee will be deducted from the amount you ask for. I won't go first for Full Member and below or account that is negative trusted. You must use escrow if your rank is low.
Total budget: BTC0.06
Budget left: BTC0.0518

Edit: I'm contacting requests with the following queue:

Primary considerations:
1. Negative accounts
2. Banned accounts
3. Brand new accounts

Secondary considerations:
1. Rank
2. Price
3. Seller's rank

Due to my 360 seconds limitation (for now), you may expect a log waiting time for my reply.

Edit 2: I'm adding the new standard form here:
Code:
Type: (Banned/Negative)
Rank: (Newbie-Legendary)
Offer price:

Edit 3: Formula of contacting priority:
Code:
p = t * r / o * sqrt(sqrt(b))
Where p = priority, t = type of account multiplier, r = rank multiplier, o = your offer (in mBTC), b = budget left (in mBTC).
For type of account multiplier, the multiplier of banned account is 1 and the multiplier of negative account is 1.5.
For rank multiplier, the multiplier of brand new/newbie with 14- activity is 0.01, the multiplier of newbie is 0.1, the multiplier of Jr. Member is 1, the multiplier of Member is 2, the multiplier of Full Member is 3, the multiplier of Sr. Member is 5, the multiplier of Hero/Legendary is 15.

New rule: I won't contact offer of priority less than 1. Please make offer here with priority more than (or equal to) 1.

Edit 4: Due to many spams and scams on lending section recently, I decided not to buy ManyProofs's accounts (including alts) even if he offer 1 satoshi price. Other negative accounts still accepted.
12  Other / Beginners & Help / My tx is stuck in the stress test, what can I do? on: July 08, 2015, 12:33:58 PM
Sorry if it is in the wrong section.

I've made a tx to send about 0.06 BTC to multiple destinations and got a ~0.03 BTC change for myself. However since I've forgotten about the stress test, I've paid only 0.00002 as fees and it don't confirm for 5.5 hours. I've heard somewhere else in this forum that paying extra tx fees from one of the outputs can make the tx confirm faster. Is that true?

14  Other / Meta / Unwanted heading in my sent PM? on: June 29, 2015, 12:34:26 AM
Hi everyone, I'm a newbie though I'm not new here. Today when I send a PM, it automatically added this header to me:
!!! WARNING: This user is a newbie. If you are expecting a message from a more veteran member, then this is an imposter !!!
Which code is:
Code:
[size=12pt][color=red]!!! WARNING: This user is a [i]newbie[/i]. If you are expecting a message from a more veteran member, then this is an [i]imposter[/i] !!![/color][/size]
Why is this added?
