Hi All So I've been on this forum for a couple of years now and I've been dabbling in bitcoin, litecoin and a few others. I've seen a lot about people's coins being stolen and exchanges being hacked etc whilst I've been here, but I never thought it would happen to me. Anyway I'll go ahead and tell you all what happened in the hope that someone could shed a little bit of light on the whole situation. So I've been on holiday this past week and I received an email yesterday from who I think was BTC-e asking if I'd like to confirm or deny a withdrawal of 108.5335 LTC from my account. I immediately hit deny and logged in to check if they were still there. And as you can guess they were gone, along with 600 or so FTC which the "hacker" (not really sure what to call this), converted to BTC, then to LTC and withdrew them as well. I have to say, this isn't a very nice feeling at all. I worked pretty hard trading and mining to make all those Litecoin, which just vanished in the blink of an eye. I mentioned in the above paragraph an email which I think was from BTC-e. Stupidly, I never checked and just clicked deny straight away and logged right in. In my panic I didn't check to see if this was a phishing site. I know, silly me  . However I looked through my internet history and it was definitely the BTC-e site so I don't think I've been "hacked" that way. I went back to my emails to check the email I'd been sent and it appears to have mysteriously disappeared. I'm not sure how that's possible but I checked on the server and it's nowhere to be found. Not in inbox, spam, deleted or anywhere else. I know it's very unlikely that I'll manage to get my coins back, but I'm just wondering if anyone has any ideas on what to do. And before you all tell me I shouldn't store my coins on a trading site...  yes I do know this, however I've been trading with my coins to try and increase the amount I've been holding. Reason I was keeping them on there for the time being was because I didn't want to keep withdrawing and depositing as there are fees. Just need to clarify something. I'm getting this error when I run my cgminer: ADL found less devices than opencl
There is possibly more than one display attached to a gpu
I'm pretty sure this error is causing cgminer to not show any temp/overclocking monitoring (which kind of sucks :/ ) So am I right i thinking that to get rid of this error all I need to do is make a dummy plug and stick it in the back of one of my gpu's? Or do I need three dummy plugs, one for each of my gpus? By the way, I access my miner through remote desktop. Oh, and yesterday for some reason whilst I was accessing it through team viewer on my phone, the temp monitoring came back for about an hour. And now its gone again Cheers guys -redmist |

So I've got 2 5850's in my first rig, and I'm getting around 580mhash. I'm fairly happy with this but I think I can push a bit more out of it. Originally I only had one card running and that was getting 370mh, so I reckon I could get it up to around 700mh with two. These are the settings I have in my batch file: start /D "C:/Users/MINER/Downloads/cgmine" cgminer.exe -o http://coinotron.com:8322 -u xxxxx -p xxxxx--intensity 10 --worksize 128 --shaders 1440 --thread-concurrency 5670 --gpu-engine 775 --gpu-memclock 775 I've messed around with pretty much every setting. These are the best values I can find, and I must have tried at least 100 different variations now  If someone could suggest how to improve my hash speed that would be great. For some reason when I open up cgminer, I get greeted with the error message: ADL found less devices than opencl! There is possibly more than one display attached to a GPU. I'm pretty confused with this because I haven't done anything that would cause this. The only thing that I've done today is add my second GPU into my rig. I've got 2 5850's running at the moment. Anyone know why this is happening, and what I can do to stop it? Secondly, these are the arguments that I have in my batch file to start cgminer: cgminer --scrypt -o http://coinotron.com:3334 -d 0 -u xxxxx -p xxxxxx--shaders 1440 --intensity 19 --worksize 256 -g 1 --thread-concurrency 8000 --gpu-engine 900 --gpu-memclock 1000 When I just had my first card, I was getting steady temps of 62C. I added my second card and used the same batch file and I was getting temps of 90C. That doesn't seem right to me. Can anyone tell me why the temperature shot up so much, as they're both the same type of card. And how I can keep the temperatures around 72C. Finally, for some reason (this only started happening today), the temperature monitors on cgminer have disappeared, so now I'm left with a blank space there instead. Which isn't very helpful as I have to use Afterburner to monitor the temps, and with intensity at 19, my computer is pretty unusable Would be great if anyone could help me with these problems, as I just want to get my rig sorted and then let it mine without having to worry too much about it. Hi guys, At the moment, I have a rig with just 1 Sapphire 5850, and I need a bit of advice from someone who's more experienced than me. Basically, in the next week or 2, I'm gonna grab 2 more 5850's, but I need some help in figuring out what PSU I should get. I know roughly how much voltage I need, but what I'm trying to figure out is how many PCI Express power connectors I'll need. The PSU I currently have only has enough power connectors for the card I have at the moment, let alone the next two. A sapphire 5850 requires 2x75 watt 6 pins (all I have on my PSU) So two more of the same card, should require an extra 4x75 watt 6 pins? Is that correct? As I'm a little confused about this whole crossfire thing. Do I need crossfire to get the other cards mining? If thats the case, the Sapphire 5850 page says I need 4 x75 watt PCI Express connectors for crossfire for each card. Basically, can someone clarify if I need crossfire or not to run all 3, and either way, recommend a decent PSU that has enough power connectors to run all three cards. Thanks  |

Hi guys, So yesterday I finished building my first mining rig, and its been mining Litecoin since. I've managed to get everything working, but I still have loads of questions, and if any of you guys could answer that would be greatly appreciated. So here goes: 1) I've only got one GPU at the moment, and its a Sapphire Toxic 5850 2GB. I'm getting about 377khash with these parameters: cgminer --scrypt -o http://litecoinpool.org:9332 -u xxxxx -p xxxxx --shaders 1440 --intensity 19 --worksize 256 -g 1 --thread-concurrency 8000 --gpu-engine 900 --gpu-memclock 1000The temperature of the card is only at 65 degrees Celsius, so basically I'm wondering if any of you guys can recommend better parameters that will give me a higher hash rate. 2) In the next week or so, I'm going to add another 2 5850's. However, with the card I have at the moment, there is already an extremely limited amount of space in my case. I can't see the other 2 cards fitting in there at all. What do you guys suggest I should do? Sack the case and just mount it on a rack? 3) The graphics card that I have in my rig at the moment requires power (i think most of them do now anyway), which is fine as I have a 750 Watt PSU. However, the card requires 2x75 watt 6-pin PCI Express power connectors to run. Luckily my case came with 2 of them, so the card works fine. However when I get my next two cards, how do I supply power to them, as the PSU doesn't have any more power connectors coming off it that I could use. Do I have to buy some more? If so, how do I get them to connect to everything? 4) I've heard a lot about crossfire, and I'm not really sure what I'm doing when it comes to that. I'm guessing it has something to do with running more than one gpu at once. Could someone give me a brief description of what I need to do to get 3 gpu's running at once, and all of them at around the same hash rate? 5) Whilst mining with cgminer with my single card, the hash rate it shows seems to jump between 100-500 khash every 5 seconds. Surely that's not right is it? The average khash it shows is 377, which seems about right compared to the wiki. Just wondering if anyone can tell me if it should be jumping so much and if not, how to fix it. 6) Not that this matters much, but cgminer shows this: Best share: 70.9K I'm not really sure what this is, but I'd like to know just out of curiosity. Hey guys,
I've got a lot of questions about Litecoin, as I've just bought parts for a rig I'm building.
About a week ago with the hash rate I will be getting, I would have been raking in around $800 a month.
Now, I'll only be making around $200 a month.
That's kind of worrying for me, as I've just spent $600 on my new rig. And the amount of LTC I'll be making a month has dropped rapidly.
Why is the LTC difficulty so high at the moment?
Can it go back down?
If so, will it go back down??

Basically, I want to buy x6 5850's. They have to be either Gigabyte Or Sapphire. I'd like them to be fairly new, not much mining use preferably. It doesn't matter how many of the cards you have, as long as its 1 or more If you want to sell, PM me, and we can work something out through there. It also doesn't matter if you have a combination of the two brands I live in the UK, however postage prices don't bother me too much. Ok guys. I've got a slight dilemma.
Basically, I'm extremely confused about which brand of graphics card I should get.
I'm looking to buy x6 5850's for LTC mining, and I have a guy who's doing me a great deal for them. However, the brand is PowerColor, and I've heard that they're often very faulty and that the cooler is terrible.
I've been recommended by various people to buy the Gigabyte version, because the cooling is pretty damn good. However, I can only see one Gigabyte 5850 on ebay, and the price is nowhere near the PowerCooler. Its too high for me.
So I've been contemplating a Sapphire version, but before I buy anything, I have a lot of questions I want to ask.
What I want to know is:
1. Which has the best cooling out of Gigabyte, Sapphire and XFX?
2. Which brand is second in cooling to Gigabyte? (as i'm more likely to go for this one as Gigabyte is too expensive)
3. I'm going to have to rigs. So can anyone recommend a motherboard that will take 3 of these cards? That is also fairly cheap as I'm buying two of them.
4. If I were to go for the PowerColor cards, how powerful would a fan have to be to keep them cool? (Bare in mind I'll be overclocking them, however they will be in my freezing cold garage)
Any help is greatly appreciated as I've been trying to figure out what to buy for almost a week now!

Hi guys, I'm currently trying to build a Bitcoin mining rig and I want to use 4 Radeon 5970's. So far I'm struggling to find any motherboards that have 1 PCI 2.1 port, let alone 4. Basically, do any of you know how to get these 4 gpu's mining at the same time for the cheapest price? e.g. Not 4 motherboards  Any help is appreciated! -redmist |
