I am currently mining in the deepbit pool where i can choose between two types of work payout methods; proportional and pay-per-share.

I am trying to understand what the difference is between them and this what the pros and cons are but i have not been able to gather any information regarding this on deepbits site so i thought maybe the community could enlighten me

i have been thinking about getting a HTPC doubling as a file server now that the first AMD fusion chips are out. More specifically this will be the zacate e350 that has a HD 6310 on die so i was thinking if well this chip will fare in mining.

Hi i just found out about bitcoin about an hour or so ago. My Bitcoin client is current downloading blocks so i am not able to use all its features yet.

but i am wondering with no log in system or anything how do i access my bitcoins when i am not at the computer i just installed the client on? what stops some one else to use my bitcoins and so on?
