1  Economy / Scam Accusations / [BITTREX IRC] SCAM ALERT - FAKE BITTREX RICHIE on: August 05, 2015, 12:56:27 PM
I logged onto Bittrex IRC because I needed some help. I got pmed from a guy named "bIttrex rIchie" and he told me that he would take care of the issue. Then he asked me if I wanted to make money. I asked him how? He asked me to send him my Startcoin and he would give me 20% profit because he was using BOT that was built by his programmer. I sent him all the Start I had (around 1.50 btc worth).

Before sending him Start I made sure that there was no other "bittrex-richie" in IRC except main one and I couldn't find any.

Offcourse he was an impersonator and took all my Startcoin.

I've sent email to bittrex support but I"m not sure if anything can be done at this point. I guess I'll have to count it as my loss and never invest in altcoins again.

If scam coins weren't enough for crypto now we have people who impersonate exchange owners so they can steal BTC.

Please NEVER SEND YOUR COINS to anyone!!!!!

I had no clue that someone could impersonate someone like that just to milk btc. It's really douchebaggish thing to do to others.

All this time I thought it was real bittrex-richie because his name sounded exactly the same except "i" was capital which was easy thing to miss.
