1  Other / Meta / Is there a Uniform Code of Bitcointalk Justice where user's lose rank? on: October 13, 2018, 02:23:01 AM
In the military when a Marine violates the standards/code of conduct they're demoted.

For example a Sergeant (E-5) who willfully breaks the code can be demoted to Private First Class (E-2) if the infraction warrants that type of punishment. They're not Dishonorably Discharged but the striping of rank is a pretty significant deterrant.

I know a user can be banned for spamming or scamming but say that User is FULL MEMBER can they be busted down to a Newbie?

In effect devaluing their accounts to the lowest level and giving them a chance to redeem themselves if it is merited.

Just wondering.
2  Economy / Exchanges / Is Binance's policy now: Keep Airdrops for Ourselves? on: May 15, 2018, 06:10:05 AM
Is Binance's new policy on potential lucrative airdrops, KEEP IT FOR OURSELVES?

Binance users are asking for the MCT airdrop to be distributed as other coins have been in the past. There is no communication from Binance about why it isn't being distributed? Only canned responses from support ignoring the users requests for answers. If this was done with the Ontology airdrop users would have missed out on Millions in profit.

I want to know if this is going to be their future strategy for potential airdrops that could be worth billions.

More importantly Binance received MCT for the NEO exchange wallet? So, why isn't it being distributed? Is Binance claiming that those airdropped MCT coins are theirs? Binance advertises earning GAS for NEO in their exchange wallet as a feature to promote the Binance Exchange as user friendly. Is this feature now going to be offered to users so Binance can keep all future airdrops?

If KEEP AIRDROPS FOR OURSELVES is Binance's stance on future lucrative airdrops their users should be warned since the exchange's stance has changed significantly.

If this policy was in affect for the Ontology airdrop users would have lost millions in value.

****This is a perfect example of why you should NOT keep any coins on exchanges.**** I'll beat 98% of you to the most obvious reply  Kiss
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / CRYPTO LIES are halfway around the world before the truth even knows they exist! on: February 20, 2018, 05:17:22 AM
Everyone knows that FUD is prevalent in the Cryptocurrency community, in life in general, but does anyone ever have the courage to admit when they're wrong? What groups here have the best reputation for reasonable conversations? Are there any or is everyone just trying to scam? What's your opinion & why?
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / CRYPTOPIA'S stance on PACCOIN Swap on: February 14, 2018, 06:58:56 PM
I received an Official e-mail from Cryptopia today summing up what they're going to be doing for the upcoming PACCOIN SWAP on March 1st.

Here is the information:

Dear Cryptopia Users,

You are receiving this email because you currently have a non-zero PACcoin balance or you have generated a PACcoin deposit address for your wallet.

Over the past month Cryptopia and the $PAC team have been working together to facilitate the PACcoin to $PAC RCO (Redemption Coin Offering). The original PACcoin has been completely reworked. This includes an algorithm change from SHA256 to X11 and a total supply reduction from 100 billion to 3.5 billion in circulation. As a result of these changes a hard fork will occur on March 1st.

More information about these changes can be found here: http://download.paccoin.net/PAC_White_Paper_2018_Final.pdf

Here’s how the swap is going to work:

• We will be halting the PAC/BTC market sometime in the next few days. If you haven’t cancelled any open orders by the time this happens then we will cancel them for you

• The old wallet will be decommissioned and replaced with the new $PAC wallet. While this is in progress we will be disabling deposits and withdrawals. Please DO NOT send any PACcoin to your Cryptopia wallet effective immediately.

• Any confirmed balance of PACcoin you have on Cryptopia will be swapped 1000:1 or 1000 current PACcoins for 1 new $PAC on the new blockchain.

• The new $PAC will be listed on Cryptopia once we have completed the balance transfers.

Thank you for your continued support!

The Cryptopia team
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Is the Litecoin Cash (LCC) legitimate? on: February 11, 2018, 06:30:37 PM
I find it interesting that it has taken this long for someone to fork LTC. The 10 to 1 split is enticing but I wonder what people think about the upcoming fork? Charlie Lee has called it a "scam" but he doesn't own any Litecoin & dumped his bags on the entire community so he's not the best advocate. What's the opinion of the community that still holds LTC?
6  Economy / Trading Discussion / CRYPTOPIA returning their LITECOIN/LTC markets using atomicswaps. on: January 11, 2018, 01:18:31 AM
Cryptopia is returning their LITECOIN/LTC markets using atomicswaps.

Here is the latest post from Cryptopia's New/Information section:

I understand that while this may not be the update many people want to hear, it at least will hopefully provide everyone with a clear understanding of the path forward.

Cryptopia will be standing up new sister sites such as ltc.cryptopia.co.nz to handle base markets dedicated to LTC on their own trade engine and database to allow them to continue to trade, and allowing cryptopia.co.nz to resume registrations. You will still need to transfer funds between the different sites to trade on each of them but this will be able to be handled instantly by Cryptopia in the background with atomic swaps, so you'll still have the single Cryptopia account that you use on the different exchanges.

As such, we will be permanently closing the LTC basemarkets on cryptopia.co.nz Users will have a month to cancel their open orders after which point the markets will be closed and your orders will be cancelled for you. Further updates on the timeline for the new LTC exchange will be posted as they become available.

7  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Bitcoin Armageddon or Y2K? on: July 31, 2017, 02:32:43 PM
August 1st is nearly upon us and I'd like to take a quick poll.

Do you think August 1st will be a Bitcoin Armageddon or a y2k false panic?
