1  Other / Off-topic / Decentralized hierarchy Neuron layered Consciousness & Blockchain Conciousness on: August 10, 2015, 01:08:56 PM
I have saw philosophy threads and discussion regarding the properties of consciousness. And merely scanning your brain perfectly
and creating a copy in a computer, or a clone and you won't be looking through its eyes nor it be you. So defining consciousness becomes
a tricky concept. Perhaps slowly changing neuron by neuron with artificial neurons would retain the original identity since its so gradual.
Since in a way atoms are replaced, and over your lifetime all the atoms in your body replaces anyways.

So exactly what does this has to do with blockchain?

Well I have thought of interesting thoughts to this. Take the Bitcoin network for example. If we replace each miner slowly
through out the world, with new ones, the original network will obviously stay the same, and still retain its original identity.

However if you send 10,000 people to mars, and have them start their own bitcoin network, fundamentally we'd have BTC1 on Earth
and BTC2 on mars. However they'd be different, or clones of each other. BTC1 wouldn't be BTC2, and BTC2 wouldn't be BTC1, etc.

So I think consciousness is like a decentralized hierarchy layered neuron computational based model, that mints blocks for the "YOU" network. This means, adding upgrades to the brain, is like adding new bitcoin miners, like Antminer s5's instead of antminer s3's to the network, etc.
Removing the original areas of the brain and replacing it with new components slowly over time is like discarding Antminer s1's and old gen
miners for newer ones, leaving the network unchanged and retaining your original identity/person hood/consciousness

Cloning is a hard fork of the original network, and thus creates the diversion between 1 & 2.

Now when you go to sleep, or go under anesthesia during surgery shutting off the entire brain/consciousness. I think its like unplugging
all the bitcoin miners through out the world, and minting comes to a complete stall. However when all the miners reboot on, the network
keeps chucking along and thus retaining the original you & identity.

I think this answers a lot of philosophy questions around consciousness, cloning, mind transfers, etc. Think of it as like the Bitcoin network.

I like to hear your opinions and thoughts to this.
