1  Economy / Gambling discussion / ⚽ [UEFA] 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers 🏆 on: June 10, 2025, 09:37:22 PM
I didn't find a topic about this important event so here we can discuss the European Qualifiers to 2026 World Cup in USA, Canada and Mexico.
The competition right now is in the group stage, precisely at the fourth matchday which includes nations from Group G to L.
Yesterday, Italy, Croatia and Norway won their games. Belgium won hardly 4 - 3 against Wales. In today's game, Netherlands knocked Malta by 8 goals to nothing. Also, Austria, Serbia and Romania didn't have much trouble winning their games and right now Finland ended its game with a victory against Poland by two goals to one.
When I see the standings, I am a bit surprised of the standings of many teams but since the number of matches payed aren't even, I can't say much but definitely Italy and Belgium should take the first spot in their groups because their opponents aren't in any way better than them.
2  Economy / Gambling discussion / ⚽ EFL Carabao Cup 2024/25 Season on: August 28, 2024, 02:35:54 PM
A new season started with its different competitions and we have here a thread for EFL Carabao Cup in which we will discuss games, odds and its outcomes.

There is 7 matches to be played today:

Wolves, Ipswich, Southampton, Brentford, Swansea, West Ham United and Newcastle United are expected to win in these games.
The winners will join the draw for the round three of Carabao Cup which will take place in the second half of September.
Keep the discussion on topic and exclusively about EFL Carabao Cup. There is dedicated places for the other competitions in this section Smiley
3  Economy / Gambling discussion / ⚽ International Football Prediction and Discussion Thread ⚽ on: September 08, 2023, 08:30:56 PM
In this thread you can share your predictions and your discussion about international competitions that don't already have dedicated topics like UEFA EURO or AFRICA FOOTBALL DISCUSSION.
This topic can include national football teams or even clubs playing in official international competitions or friendlies.

Right now we have 2026 FIFA World Cup qualification - CONMEBOL matches that started yesterday with Paraguay 0 - 0 Peru, Colombia 1 - 0 Venezuela and Argentina 1 - 0 Ecuador.
Two matches left for this round between Uruguay - Chile and Brazil - Bolivia.

Just to make things more clear in case of multiple competitions running at the same time, it is preferable to put [Competition name] in the beginning of the post. It is just optional.
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Poly Network hack: one of the biggest crypto heists! on: August 11, 2021, 03:32:42 PM
So basically $600m were stolen from Poly Network platform and it was described as one of the biggest crypto heists in history.
The hackers exploited a vulnerability in the platform which affected BinanceChain, ethereum and 0xPolygon.
It was reported also that the hacker(s) started to return a part of the stolen funds (+$4.8m)!
Source: https://www.cnbc.com/2021/08/11/cryptocurrency-theft-hackers-steal-600-million-in-poly-network-hack.html

Edit: luckily there is no bitcoin direct or indirect (price) damage and exchanges hacks is really annoying and shouldn't happen that frequently!
5  Economy / Service Discussion / 📝[Discussion topic] Overview of Bitcointalk Signature-Ad Campaigns📝 on: June 14, 2021, 03:45:01 PM
This is the unofficial discussion topic for "Overview of Bitcointalk Signature-Ad Campaigns"

Original topic by Mitchell (updates only): https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=615953.0

As you all know Mitchell topic is dedicated only for updating the table and local rules prohibit discussion.
Code:
Discussion about campaigns are strictly forbidden (unless it's really relevant, which in 99% of the cases, it isn't).
However, sometimes there is grey zone where discussion should occur to alert from possible scam running campaigns, protesting on low payments campaigns or some (hidden) rules imposed by other ones (KYC) and so on...

In order to keep this topic as clean and useful as possible, I call everyone to follow this form when starting a discussion (just an example, can be changed if anyone has better opinion):
Quote
Signature campaign name:
Overview topic link:
Signature campaign link:
Problem (title):
Problem (discussion):
Obviously responses to the started discussion doesn't require to repeat this form, only a quote (of signature campaign name) followed by the answer should be more than enough.
6  Bitcoin / Press / [2020-08-01] How the FBI tracked down the Twitter hackers on: August 01, 2020, 03:06:16 PM
A timeline of the Twitter hack composed from court documents published today.
After earlier today US law enforcement charged three individuals for the recent Twitter hack, with the help of court documents released by the DOJ, ZDNet was able to piece together a timeline of the hack, and how US investigators tracked down the three suspected hackers.

The article below uses data from three indictments published today by the DOJ against:

Mason Sheppard, aka "Chaewon," 19, of Bognor Regis, in the United Kingdom [indictment].
Nima Fazeli, aka "Rolex," 22, of Orlando, Florida [indictment].
Graham Ivan Clark, believed to be "Kirk," 17 of Tampa, Florida [indictment, courtesy of Motherboard]....

7  Bitcoin / Press / [2020-07-15] Elon Musk and Bill Gates 'hacked' in apparent Bitcoin scam on: July 15, 2020, 11:26:26 PM
Billionaires Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos and Bill Gates are among several high-profile individuals targeted by hackers on Twitter in an apparent Bitcoin scam...
https://www.bbc.com/news/technology-53425822

That's awful, the hack but also the title of this BBC article! "apparent Bitcoin scam"...
I don't get what's the point of sending your scammed money to a Bitcoin address when everyone in this world is monitoring your wallet!
I mean there is other private cryptocurrencies... I find this stupid and triggering many questions... What's the point!
8  Other / Meta / sMerit faucet, maybe? on: June 22, 2020, 02:06:37 PM
No that will be the answer probably and the first reflex of most members, but I will share my thoughts anyway.
It doesn't happens frequently but sometimes I want to give 1 merit to someone helping me or for a quite good helpful post but since "I" (many) am under the merit poverty line, I simply cannot.
My request is simple, can we (owners of less than 0x smerits) claim 1-2 (s)merit per week for example to give it as a reward to good posters?
I will not deny the efforts of merit sources but it isn't that ideal too. Such thing will be noticeable once they are off from that circle and if the rewarded smerits isn't exchanged between them in a legit way obviously (small size to avoid unnecessary discussions about this).
Having a topic or an additional button to alert sources about a good post aren't that good ideas since it will be flooded and spammed.
The limited "faucet" I suggested could be restricted to specific ranks (full members and above for example). If a member is/was busted abusing the merit system then he will be unable to access it...
Feel free to share your ideas. I am asking for a way to help others and not begging here. Thanks for understanding and reading this Smiley
9  Economy / Gambling discussion / Snipie's gambling investment test on: June 11, 2020, 07:33:57 PM
I want first to thanks Yatsan (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5239794.0) for sharing with us his personal experience with investment in 2 gambling sites and since I invested an amount too in Yolodice and was asked to create my own topic to share my experience too so here we go.

So in Yolodice the starting amount to invest in BTC is 0.01 and I invested several hours ago what I had there which was 0.0123 which represented 0.005562% of total share (see pic below).
First I got a little bit profit +0.00000732 after few hours and now it is red -0.00001406 (see pic). Just keep in mind that this amount is dynamic so it changes every couple of seconds, while writing this line it is now -0.00001544BTC with a Return on investment ROI = -0.1277 %.
I will try to keep everyone updated about my investment and I may invest also in LTC (or ETH if it will be available).

Just a couple of advices / informations:
- I was level 2 in Yolodice and after investing I turned level 4 with a possibility to put an avatar.
- You will not be able to claim faucet bonus since you already have coins in Yolodice (that you invested).
- Invest only the amount you believe won't be missed since like you can make a decent profit you can also lose a considerable amount.
- The much you invest, the much you ROI faster but it can also the much you lose in some cases, so do not invest more than you afford to lose.

THE END
The decision to stop the investment is taken after YOLOdice announced its closing. It is a hard moment for everyone, thank you all for your supports and I hope this experience will be useful and helpful for you.

* The amount shown here is my net profit (green) or loss (red) from my initial investment. For example in June 11, I lost 0.00001544 BTC (red) but in June 12, I recovered what I lost and gained additional +0.00000736 BTC (green).
** Price estimated since I didn't check the exact USD value at the time of investing. The mentioned prices with ** are very close to the real one. Starting from June 12, 2020 I will try to post the amount added in BTC and USD at the same time according to preev (since preev seems down in week 24, I will use this service by bitmover).
10  Other / Meta / Showing sub-sub board in first page on: May 23, 2020, 04:15:31 PM
Hey, if this was said before let me know to lock the topic.
This suggestion is simple. Can we show the sub-sub board like:
Electrum...Hardware wallets to appear in the first page (https://bitcointalk.org) so essentially new members can find it easily under "Development & Technical Discussion". It will appear basically like this "Child Boards: Wallet software (> Electrum > Bitcoin Wallet for Android > BitcoinJ > Armory > Mycelium > Hardware wallets)"
Same idea goes for "Invites & Accounts", "Group buys", goods sub...
Thanks.

Edit2: removing the pic (since the modification may not be noticed by some people?) and replacing it by 2 pics.

Pine64 Drops BitPay Before First Bitcoin Payment Over Twitter ‘Outcry’

Cryptocurrency payment processor BitPay has lost a major customer before it even began accepting any payments after a social media backlash.
In a Twitter debate on May 15, computer manufacturer Pine64 said that it had planned to use BitPay to accept cryptocurrency, but would now halt the plans while it searched for an alternative partner...

Sometimes there is good news, other times there is bad news and some bloggers or journalists are creating an art about how to write a shitty title about a good event!

Hi theymos, can you update the top reporters table, it was long time since you did so tho.
I know this will not be considered probably but maybe top reporters by section too?
And what about the snitch badge? Tongue
Thanks Smiley

Here are the top 50 reporters by total good reports.

Thanks to everyone who reports! Even one good report is helpful. But massive thanks to those in this list: without you, moderation would be basically impossible.

Although most people in this list have very high accuracies, in general there's no need to worry about accuracy too much.

13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / [2020-04-25] Facebook’s Libra Has Changed... on: April 26, 2020, 01:37:11 PM
Facebook’s Libra has changed. Having been roundly criticized after its unveiling in June 2019, it has now updated its white paper in a bid to placate regulators and governments.

Most notably, the new look Libra gets rid of any intention to move to a permissionless ledger. It also introduces a range of stablecoins pegged to single national fiat currencies, in addition to the multi-pegged Libra stablecoin itself...
https://cryptonews.com/exclusives/facebook-s-libra-has-changed-but-it-still-might-be-a-win-for-6394.htm

The most important points discussed imo are:
KYC
multi-pegged single stablecoin –> lots of single-peg stablecoins = digital dollar/euro/sterling...
permissionless, open system —> private, permissioned database
Personally I think Libra will attract more people to cryptocurrencies, it will be a serious competitor to stablecoins and may destroy it but for Bitcoin it may affect it a little in the first months but I think the number of adopter will increase once they start discovering the crypto world!

15  Other / Beginners & Help / Learn from arts! (old topic name was : sMerit for art!) on: February 15, 2018, 07:09:51 PM
Hi, i have 185 sMerit (EDIT: look on the bottom of page how much left) and since I am not that active, I doubt i could give it to the ones that deserve it and need it the most, so I have these ideas :

1- i will give between 1 and 5* sMerit for everyone that could make an image helping newbies to understand anything related to Bitcoin, Blockchain, wallets, FAQ in bitcointalk.org (Merit, ranking, trust, activity...). It is not required to implement all the informations on 1 image! Make it as simple and clear as possible.
(* depending from the number of participants, most will get between 1-2 after acceptance, exceptional work up to 5. The reward could be decreased in case other members already left sMerit for the participant even if the image was posted before in a different topic)

2- I will give between 1-10* sMerit for educative .gif or videos
(* depending from the number of participants, most will get between 3-5 after acceptance, exceptional work up to 10. The reward could be decreased in case other members already left many sMerit for the participant. However videos containing pure texts alone -somehow like a book/newspaper- will not get more than 2 sMerit in most cases after acceptance)

3- I am open for any different idea (making a cartoon or a movie Tongue), anything that could help the Bitcoin community is welcome (no minimum, it will depends on how i see your work Meanwhile the other members are free to give it what they like)

4- Translation of the works that will be posted here to your language is accepted after the approval of the original owner (only 1 sMerit after acceptance).

Rules :
- I prefer to not make a dedicated art for altcoins but you could mention it briefly.
- Do not copy-paste, only (re)post your work. If you found copying, you will be reported and you will likely get a negative trust.
- Other members are welcome to credit nice works
- Legendary & negative trust will not get any reward from me at least (it depends in reality but to avoid problems in the future)
- The reward may take several days to be delivered, i am not that active-time fault!, (do not blame me Cry)
- First came first served until my sMerit turn to 0 (do not blame me for having 0 sMerit!)
- I will not look to any of your previous posts, i will give you a chance to improve after your hard work.
- Oh yeah, those arts could be used later by the community so think to add your nick in the corner.
- Do not reserve a post please
- Afaik this post do not break any unofficial, hidden rule. If not, please tell me to lock it.
- To apply other rules later or not to apply, that is the question.

Edit 1:
- Added "and me" "after acceptance" in point 4 to avoid abuse of easily translated texts. (reedited /edit 5)
- Try avoiding duplicated content (will not be credited) unless you have a way better image (no guarantee).
- Do not post 0 effort work, it will only make troubles for everyone.

Edit 2:
- Added precision for point 2 to avoid having multiple images posted as a video.
- 177 sMerit left.

Edit 3 :
- I think the forums don't need more Merit poster (theymos Merit topic contains already several of it)

Precision : February 19, 2018 : 160 sMerit left

Edit 4 : February 20, 2018
- Try always to have a proof of your work by having your nickname on the corner or a link referring to your profile on the video header/comment if your name in YouTube for example is different than the one in bitcointalk. (reedited by adding underline/edit 5)
- 150 sMerit left

Precision : February 25, 2018 : 137 sMerit left
Precision : February 27, 2018 : 127 sMerit left (stats: 58 sMerit sent to 19 arts in 13 days)

Edit 5 : February 28, 2018 (Important changes)
- 2 weeks since we started and after reviewing the quality of art submitted here, I adjusted the rates accordingly and edited the text by removing the minimum part in point 1 & 2 and replacing it by "after acceptance" (which is obvious / min now for all art is 1 sMerit after acceptance). The new rate isn't that important imo since basically all the participants until now get sMerit in the actual ranges (maybe the only ones who will be affected is arts with low-medium quality videos)
- To allow as much people showing their skills, I will set a virtual maximum of 10 sMerit per person : if someone will receive from me 10 sMerit then his next accepted contributions will be rewarded by max 1-2 sMerit per contribution even if the contents are extraordinary.
Precision 1 : for the moment, I don't give sMerit to anything except for arts posted or linked to this topic, so please stop sending me private messages or posting in this topic for a review of non-art contents. Thanks.
Precision 2 : February 28, 2018 : 120 sMerit left (stats: 66 sMerit sent to 22 arts in 2 weeks)

Precision : March 02, 2018 : 106 sMerit left (minus approximately 15 sMerit on-hold for 2 contributors)  (stats without counting the on-hold ones : 80 sMerit sent to 31 arts in 16 days)

Edit 6: March 03, 2018
- Any image containing mostly merit & activity will not be counted because i think we have enough of it for now. Videos are until now accepted but it should have a good quality otherwise it will not be accepted.
- Making this ugly OP a little bit cute
Precision : 89 sMerit left (101 minus 12 sMerit on-hold for user hkdfgkdf)  (stats without counting the on-hold one : 85 sMerit sent to 34 arts in 17 days)

Precision : March 08, 2018 : 72 sMerit left (stats: 114 sMerit sent to 42 arts in 22 days)
Precision : March 09, 2018 : 63 sMerit left (stats: 123 sMerit sent to 50 arts in 23 days)
Precision : March 11, 2018 : 46 sMerit left (stats: 140 sMerit sent to 61 arts in 25 days)
Precision : March 12, 2018 : 29 sMerit left (stats: 157 sMerit sent to 69 arts in 26 days)
Precision : March 13, 2018 : 13 sMerit left (stats: 173 sMerit sent to 74 arts in 27 days)
Precision : March 14, 2018 : 08 sMerit left (stats: 178 sMerit sent to 79 arts in 28 days)
Precision : March 15, 2018 : 05 sMerit left (stats: 179 sMerit sent to 80 arts in 29 days)

THE END : stats: 184 sMerit sent to 84 arts in 29 days

Do you like my obviously not photoshoped art? Grin

17  Economy / Speculation / $800 tomorrow? on: June 16, 2016, 07:31:30 PM
Being too enthusiastic today with the incredible rise up to $770 in the major exchanges and around $780 in the Chinese ones I would say that we will see +$800 tomorrow up to $850, do you share the same feeling/calculations?  Smiley
18  Other / Meta / Alt accounts on: October 28, 2015, 03:38:08 PM
Hi,
I have a question about the alternative accounts.
So when someone try to sell his account he will definitely receive a negative/neutral trust because this account has a new user so he may use this new account to scam people.

Wouldn't it better if everyone declare his alternative account and when he sells it, everyone will know the new buyer.
For example: user1 a known hero member declared that he plan to buy his alt user11 which is a senior member to user2 which is a full member.
In this case if user2 scam people with his user11 he will get both his account banned.
I think that everyone could be safe like that (let's exclude selling to newbies +/- junior), the buyer can show his alt without worrying from receiving a neg trust, the seller will be protected and we know that he actually owns that account, and of course the rest of users will remain safe too from being scammed.

Dunno if this was discussed before, in that case please show me the url so I can get further informations about this whole story.
19  Other / Meta / Post here the trust bots on: October 21, 2015, 12:54:45 PM
Hi,
If anyone know a user that is spamming negative trust everywhere then post his name and profile link here.

*This topic is made to collect the trust spammers which gives multiple negative trust randomly & for no reason.
*Do not post here a user that gave for you only a negative trust and you think it is unfair.
*Do not post also users that gave negative trust for bought accounts.
*Finally do not wait for admins to necessarily ban or to make a modification.

20  Economy / Scam Accusations / Rihanna & olipe on: October 05, 2015, 04:27:52 PM
Hi,
Rihhana https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=471914 & olipe  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=504800 seems to be the same person. 1 of them make a post in the investor sub and the other come next to thanks him, i even spotted a ''pic proof'' originally posted in the 27 September and olipe using it in the 4 October.
Here we go :

''Rihhana'' started this 555% profit topic https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1200421.msg12608344#msg12608344  ... No one trusted it ofc, then here he comes (4 October) our hero ''olipe'' and give us a tiny picture to proof that this works and we have to trust this obvious scam.
Looking into his old posts, i found the same tiny pic posted in 26 September in a topic started by ''olipe'' https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1191548.msg12531794#msg12531794and without being surprised, i found Rihhana thanking him https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1191548.msg12537957#msg12537957.

No need to say that even rihhana used another pic twice in both topics... Just take a look in their posts.
I gave them a negative trust & i think they need to get banned.
