1  Economy / Trading Discussion / Bitcoin Trading Platforms? on: September 03, 2016, 02:16:55 PM
Hi All,

I've been trading across a few exchanges for a while now, and was thinking about writing my own platform using the API's to combine the exchanges together and add some advanced charting and analysis - but then was wondering if something like that already exists since it would be a rather large project for my free time - and I'd rather use the time to trafe.

I've seen a solution called coinigy which claims to do something similar to what I was - but there isn't too much information about it on here - so would feel reluctant to trust my account credentials with such a service.

Are any people on here using any specialist, trusted platforms - or is it more common just to use the web front ends that are provided by the exchanges?

Thanks for your help
2  Economy / Web Wallets / Using Copay as a BTC wallet. Good idea or not? on: August 03, 2016, 02:21:24 PM
Hello,

I've decided to move the bulk of by BTC store over to a local wallet rather than storing everything on an exchange since the Bitfinex fiasco, but have decided not to go as far as a paper wallet yet. Copay looks like a nice wallet as you can store on both PC and Phone and it appears to have some good encryption features.

Are many other people using Copay? what is the general feeling about security or is there something else/better/more secure that most people use. There is a twelve word recovery pass phrase which may be stored online - could that be a security issue?

It would be interesting to know what other people are using.

Thanks for your help.
3  Economy / Services / Question: Exchanging BTC into Gold, which services to use? on: July 28, 2016, 09:09:19 PM
Hello,

I'm thinking about diversifying a small amount of my BTC stock into gold when the market situations are right, but there are so many options I'm not sure on the best way to go about it. I've checked out a few sites and they all claim to have proof of reserve etc, but I've seen similar style claims on many HYIP sites. Are many people using these services, or is it better to convert to fiat first and use an established company with a history longer than BTC and take a hit on the exchange fees?

Which sites ones are generally recommended? I'll obviously be doing further research before taking the the plunge but wondered if anybody could push me in the right direction.

There are a lot of sites out there. Its like a mine field =)

Thanks for your help and advice in advance
