Economy / Gambling / Unofficial Unmoderated bitwincasino.com thread
|
on: October 21, 2013, 11:12:16 AM
|
Since Oldminer is deleting any posts of criticism, please post here in regards to bitwincasino.com
What I posted was basically proof that they do not have 98% odds and that the games are rigged so that players can't make profit. Please play their multiplier wheel of chance and make as much of the wheel red as possible, you will see of unusually often it lands in the uncovered portion. I additionally got 15 tails in a row on coin toss.
The whole site is poorly made in general and I advise not gambling there if you want a chance to actually win more 1/10th your wager, or win in general for that manner.

Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Potential Future Bitcoin Issue
|
on: October 19, 2013, 03:55:54 AM
|
In the future, when transaction fees are the main source of revenue, I would anticipate that pools/ miners will actively scan pending transactions. Which leads me to the thought that they might shutdown to save power when pending transactions don't contain enough bitcoin to profit on, opening a vector for attack as it artificially decreases the difficulty

Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / [Concept] Adcoin
|
on: August 03, 2013, 09:22:15 AM
|
Adcoin was a cute idea I came up with.
In everyone's miner config file, they can put a 64 character alphanumeric string. The winner of each previous block's string goes on the bottom of everyone's client.
Additionally, people can "bid" on having their ad featured for 24 hours. in a different ad space in the client. It would be a special transaction that includes the ad as a transaction message and is basically just a large transaction fee. at the end of each 24 hour retarget, the person who bid the most since the previous retarget gets their string featured on the client as well. (bids don't get refunded if outbid.) this provides a sort of alternative for bonus blocks.
I suggest 2-5 minute block times so ads get rotated at a healthy but non-rapid pace.

Economy / Marketplace / [Post if interested] Should we restart Bitbills?
|
on: June 27, 2013, 01:48:59 AM
|
Hey guys, after around 2 years, me and llama have been wondering if we should restart Bitbills. We relaunched the site yesterday and haven't seen all too many people visit it. So I wanted to post here to see if anyone would want to buy a few if it were to restart. If we get enough interest, we should be able to get the supplies to restart it as soon as next week. It would be a lot cheaper than the alternatives we know of and we think having a cheap way to give people bitcoins in real life is an important step into mass introduction. We wanted to make denominations of 0.2, 0.5, 1.0 etc. but we could possible do lower amounts. Please post here with feedback or whether or not you are interested at all. Additionally, please sign up for emails at www.bitbills.com. Thanks so much!

Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / [ANN] [TLC] Introducing Tulips! amazing thing | amazing thing | LAUNCHED

logo by spoid, I'd give him a bounty, but all my blocks are orphaned Tagline: Why mine coins when you can GROW them‽THIS IS THE BEST ALTCOIN SINCE GOLD ITSELF! This is an altcoin that defies physics, rides whales and doesn't take shit from anyone. It is the LEAST * valuable altcoin, and it doesn't care. Mine this coin when you don't want to mine the newest altcoin to earn xp for your gpu or cpu! THERE IS NO PREMINE, I HAVE NO COINS! I'll put the source up since people are interested in actually doing something with it...Source: https://mega.co.nz/#!3wYnxIZC!H54OnG6QHJJlMUbcucn4g1JjF4MHEyb2OyOllcMtR0kSpecs: Abbreviated TCS Block every minute reward of 1 Tulip initially reward doubles every 17000 blocks forever scrypt readjusts every 170 blocks
this was a true jokecoin idea me and a friend had to make a coin that hyperinflates (hence tulips, like tulip-mania). This is made to be the ultimate joke of a coin as it is GUARANTEED to be a horrible investment! enjoy Windows Binaries: here*I don't know if it really is or not...The critics agree! This makes me tingle. Every amazing thing should be released this way. WARNING: VIRUS / TROJAN WALLET STEALER. BE CAREFUL
NO GITHUB
NO SOURCE CODE = VIRUS. THIS WILL BE REDACTED WHEN SOURCE IS AVAILABLE
as soon as I'm level 5 I'm going to spec up the following perks:
- ADVANCED MINER - +50 mhash bonus to each gpu - THE CONSERVATIVE - 10% power reduction cost - THE MAD PROPHET - +1 belief in copypasta altcoins
I'm still mining this Best coin release of the week so far in my opinion. 61 blocks found, only 8 of which were orphans. This is much better than the usual instamine orphanfest.
WTF is this flower power, fag garbage?
coin logo of the day !!! omg

Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Altcoin luck factor for block rewards
|
on: May 25, 2013, 03:14:16 PM
|
Can someone explain how the luck factor is decided for the lucky type coins around? how are they universally confirmed as being fairly found?
The only way I can think of is that it would pay more if the blocks hash was especially low (target is 0001 for 10 coins, but pays 100 if it's under 0000001). is that how they do it?

Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Limiting transaction spam through hashcash
|
on: May 20, 2013, 03:31:58 AM
|
Since bitcoin is based on hashcash, why is it so hard to simply make transactions using hashcash for sending btc? You can limit transaction spam by simply adding a nonce and hashing it. Then if the txid is lower than another target, it is accepted, otherwise it is rejected. Since It'll be so hard to make this compatible with previous versions of btc, I suggest it is used only for microtransactions. so if the amount is under 0.005 btc or whatever, make it require a hashcash signature.
