1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / New to the game on: October 08, 2015, 07:47:03 AM
Hi all,

I have just finished a week of GPU mining (neohash, quark, x11 etc). I have been testing the returns against my electric bill and unfortunately have no definite proof of profit.

Still, being adamant that there is profit somewhere in this business, i have decided to put a bit of money into a machine to give it a proper go.

Currently i am playing with the idea of AMD fury x vs Nvidia titan. I know the Nvidia performs quite well as the tests on crypto mining blog suggest. Unfortunately i haven't seen many results from the Fury x (for the algo i am looking at anyway), but the results i have seen are very shoddy. Maybe there are some special configurations that would run this card to its potential, but i am no algo modder so would have to wait for the experts to release their stuff.

~My question is what GPU setup would you go for? I guess my options are as follows but please feel free to make any suggestions you may have:

Option 1: 1 x AMD fury X
Option 2: 1 x Nvidia Titan
Option 3: 2 x AMD 290x
Option 4: 1 x Nvidia 980 Ti

I should also not that i am looking for a bit of future proofing here.
