2  Bitcoin / Hardware / Enterpoint Bitfury USB Stick on: September 16, 2013, 02:21:31 PM
Coming after we start to push out Cairnsmore4 mega systems to customers is this little baby hashing unit. It is for the little guy. No prices and specifications yet and we won't annouce those until we are ready to take orders which is probably going to be late October.

3  Bitcoin / Hardware / Goliath Miner on: June 14, 2013, 07:46:18 PM
A lot of you have been asking about our next generation of equipment and the purpose of this post is to introduce the way we are now going as a set of systems rather than just individual boards. We have been working on a number of technology options and have 2 of those options nearly ready to test and to offer short term for sale.

The system concept is for larger rigs typically using a 19" sub-rack to offer typically 300-500 GH/s depending on the board technology used and that is the unit size that we will initially be selling in. It isn't for small miners (sorry little guys) although we may offer something smaller later in the year for that market with a revision of Cairnsmore2 that we have been using for algorythm development. The GoliathMiner concept will over time offer a range of technologies some for Bitcoin and maybe some for Litecoin. The initial focus will be on Bitcoin.

The first technology offering isn't very original in that the base card is based on Avalon chips. The Cairnsmore3 has 144 of Avalon chips on-board. The main reason for offering this technology is purely customer demand and our ability to build units will depend on securing Avalon chips. So it will be for buyers that bring Avalon chips with them.

The second technology offering is Cairnsmore4 and this option offers more flexibility than Cairnsmore3. As well as Bitcoin we believe Litcoin is possible with this product. It has an element of FPGA technology and hence this flexibility.

The pricing model for any of these systems will be based a price of GBP £80 per GH/s. So 300 GH/s rig will be E24K. For the Avalon option there will be a cost reduction for chips supplied.

There will be a strictly limited supply for August for units based on CM4. We have enough components available to build 10 sub-racks currently. CM3 based units will be limited by Avalon chip supply and to a lesser extent ancillary parts.

If this of interest to you email us on goliath AT enterpoint.co.uk. Orders for August delivery will need to be placed rapidly to guarantee delivery dates.

4  Bitcoin / Hardware / Cairnsmore1 - Grade-b on: June 11, 2013, 02:29:44 PM
We have a small number of Cairnsmore1 grade-b boards available. We are selling these in BTC only at 10BTC for EU customers(inc VAT) and 8BTC for non-EU customers. These prices include shipping and VAT for EU customers. If you want any of these boards contact us on our boardsales email AT enterpoint.co.uk.
5  Bitcoin / Hardware / Cairnsmore1 - New Short Lead Time Preorder on: March 29, 2013, 09:30:01 AM
Preorder is now closed. Currently (11th June) we have some stock available for immediate sale.

With a background that we sold more or less every CM1 in stock we are looking at building a reasonable amount more of these with a short lead time - 2-6 weeks delivery. We already have stock of long lead time items like heatsinks which allow us up to build 375 boards. The only thing we are short of for these numbers are the actual FPGAs. We do have some FPGAs already in stock and some more on order already but would have to acquire more for larger quantities of orders. We are talking to our suppliers to see what we can acquire of these to suit these timelines and that may be the limit of what we can build.

So if you are interested in getting CM1 boards within the next 6 weeks you need to sign to our preorder. Customers that we are already talking with will get a place at the head of the queue if they tell us want to do this under the financial terms below.

As the market is very changeable we are going to do this differently to the last pre-order. The first major difference is that we will ask for a deposit of 1/3 of the single unit price (before tax) - GBP £200 / USD $320 / 240€. This will be non-refundable unless we fail to meet your promised delivery and is to cover costs we will have in starting you order. The promise date will be given before you give us the deposit and we will start to sort these out next week after the public holidays we have here today and Monday.

We will accept Bitcoins for part or all of a purchase. The actual sale will be actually in one of our supported currencies GBP, USD or Euros and in any refund situation the refund will be in one of these currencies at the nominal value shown on your invoice. The acceptance of Bitcoins is a service that we will offer our customers on this understanding that the actual sale is in those supported currencies. We will immediately covert Bitcoins received into a flat currency of our choice and this is because all of our costs are in one of supported flat currencies.

The Bitcoin rate offered will be at our sole discretion and will be only for the day that a coin transfer takes place. So if you get a number one day you can't use that on another day. You must ask again on the day you give us coins. Our coin rate will be based low to average price at MTgox but we will add approximately 15% to cover short term shift risk and conversion costs.

We won't offer credit or debit card payments due to problems with very small numbers of customers doing chargebacks having received goods. Sorry but we don't weant the admin and losses of chargebacks.

We will offer PayPal but only to customers with fully eligible seller cover. So if you have not done all the security things they want do them now if you want to use this payment mechanism. We will also surcharge PayPal payments by 4% which is our PayPal cost to process money. This is not a profit centre for us merely covering actuial costs and to put bank transfers on a level playing field financially.

For our Euro customers our bank account works with 80-90% of SEPA transfers. There are obviously some banks looking looking for an excuse not to offer SEPA.

Pricing will be as the table on http://www.enterpoint.co.uk/cairnsmore/cairnsmore1.html. Euro pricing is 1.2X GBP. EU countries there will be VAT at 20% on top of these prices unless you are a VAT registered company and we can verify your registration.

Ok so if you want to go ahead on a pre-order send us an email on preorder2 AT enterpoint.co.uk. Response should come next week once we know more on FPGA delivery.

7  Bitcoin / Hardware / Cairnsmore1 - Grade B Stock on: September 20, 2012, 06:33:48 PM
Throughout the Cairnsmore1 build we have been grading out lower performance boards and sticking them on a shelf to look at later. We have about 50 of these Grade-B boards to sell and we are going to offer them in 2 ways.

First way is you can go on our webshop and buy them at GBP £370 (+ vat if it applies), or equivalent in USD or Euros, with carriage on top of that. Local taxes and duties may apply as well to non-EU countries.

Second way is a Bitcoin purchase and we have set a fixed price for board and carriage in BTC. The only variation is if you live in the EU we have to apply VAT at 20%. For non-EU the fixed price will be 60 btc. For EU buyers it will be 72 btc. Non-EU customers may have local taxes or duties as well charged by the courier.

This grade will guarantee 700MH/s as performance. We will configure boards here to what we think is optimal configuration and may disable programming features so these cannot be changed from the set performance level. We will trickly these out over the next 2-3 weeks as we go through the process of setting them up and verifying the grade level.
8  Bitcoin / Hardware / Cairnsmore2 - What would you like? on: May 20, 2012, 10:55:31 AM
Ok I will start this one off by saying that we are looking at a range of FPGA technologies to base the product on not that any of you might think we would start putting GPUs in our products although you never know. Some of our decisions will be based on how we do this week with more fully loading the Cairnsmore1.

We are probably thinking of 19" rack as a basis for this product and we already have some backplane designs that we did previously that might be useful either directly or in an adapted form. This also fits well with power supply availability and so on. This would also allow a modular purchase of a system that would be easy to upgrade and add to as time goes on.

One of our aims will is to be a very competitive FPGA solution in the market for large scale mining.

We have an initial individual card target of 4-5 GH/s+.

We are looking at our cooling technology and we are testing a new idea this week in a different product that might get adopted into Cairnsmore2.

Timeline - we are likely to limited by FPGA lead time which is typically 6-8 weeks so August-September is likely to be the initial availability of this system.

What we would like to hear from you guys is what you would like in interfaces? USB?, Ethernet - 100/1G/10G?, Cable PCIe?

And any particular features you might think we need to include?

11  Bitcoin / Hardware / Merrick6 for Bitcoin on: April 25, 2012, 06:25:42 PM
We are launching a sripped down version of the existing product Merrick6 http://enterpoint.co.uk/products/spartan-6-development-boards/merrick-6/. We are cutting down the number of FPGAs in the working array from 6 to 2 to allow more power for the 2 remaining FPGAs. The PCIe hosting interface FPGA a XC6SLX150T will also remain. This will means that one of our twin 12A regulators will power one XC6SLX150T plus one XC6SLX150. The other 1.2V regulator will power a single XC6SLX150 FPGA. This board is offered at $1,000 (plus tax if applicable) or equivalent in GBP or Euros.

If there is enough demand we can also make a small design change to make Bitcoin special by retasking the 12A regulator, currently used for 1.5V, to being 1.2V. This would allow all 3 remaining FPGAs to have 12 Amps each.

Our X2 XC6SLX150 Coprocessor module can also be offered in a similar fashion cut down from 2 FPGAs to one that has  10A supply all to itself. price for this offering is $280 (plus tax if applicable).
