1  Economy / Speculation / Bothered about every DIP? It's just a mental check. on: March 20, 2024, 07:38:05 AM
What's been your reaction when you're expecting an upward trend up to $100k and boom, it dips back to $61k?
If you're too bothered about this, then you're probably a trader and haven't been long in the system.

This is a mentality checker for those coming into the circle for the first time but for those that have been around for a while, every DIP or bull is to your advantage.

Don't loose sight, keep stacking.
2  Economy / Lending / [CLOSED] Request: 0.5 BTC for 24-48 hours. on: June 21, 2013, 03:25:13 PM
I'm making a local transaction later today and a deposit may not clear until next Monday. I need around 0.5 BTC to make up the difference. I technically have the funds in cold storage, but they're a bit of a hassle to get to and I may not have time this morning.

I was hoping to get a quick loan - I'll be able to pay back in a day or two max, quite possibly even earlier. I can provide a screenshot of one of my Armory wallets via PM. Interest terms are negotiable, but I feel like 4-5% would be apropos.
3  Economy / Computer hardware / [WTS] ASRock Z68 Extreme3 Gen3 motherboard on: September 24, 2012, 03:01:59 PM
I'm looking to sell an ASRock Extreme3 Gen3 motherboard. I recently RMA'd it, and in the meantime I got a replacement, thus I don't need it.
I can ship to anywhere in the US via USPS. Reply or PM with offers.

4  Other / Beginners & Help / [OVER] Free Mt. Gox Yubikey on: July 18, 2012, 03:39:13 AM
I received a code from Mt. Gox for a free Yubikey (2-factor authentication device). It's also useable at blockchain.info.
I have no need of it, however, so I'd rather give it to someone that can put it to use.

I've chosen a number between 0 and 100. The person that has the closest guess wins the code.

5  Other / Beginners & Help / Greetings (and a question) on: April 27, 2012, 03:34:32 AM
I've been a lurker in the forums for a while, but I decided to make an account now; so, hello!

Now the question:
Recently, I have been looking into the different options for mining bitcoins.
I tried running a mining client on my desktop a little while back just to see how it all works, and it's rather intriguing (albeit not very profitable on a single, old GPU).
So my question is, if one wanted to get started mining, what's a good setup? I get "free"* electricity, so assuming I had the money to buy equipment,
what would be the most efficient option per dollar invested (ignoring power costs)?
