the size of the block chain is ever expanding, by the year 2100 i predict it will be over 1 terabyte, making bitcoin unmanageable for ordinary people who want to run a node. which means we will have to trust our bitcoins to some third party intermediary at some point in the future. do you see this as a problem or no?

though i think eventually bitcoin will go to a million dollars, simply because u.s.a. keeps inflating its currency, i don't think bitcoin will necessarily buy more goods and services than it does right now. that is, it won't buy more eggs, but it will take 10000 dollars to buy a dozen eggs. I'm holding onto bitcoin as insurance against the malfeasance of the banks.

If the only things you were allowed were paper and pencil, say you were creating bitcoin in the 15th century, how would you do it? I ask because I'm trying to get a better understanding of how bitcoin works, and i think this would help a lot.

so here's my newbie question. it is my understanding that every bit coin wallet comes with two numbers. a deposit number which you use with transactions; and a withdraw number. my question is what's the withdraw number for? what do you withdraw when you use this number?

being very dissatisfied with how the federal reserve is "handling" the current economic crisis, i did a web search for alternative currencies and managed to find bit coins. i find it a very interesting idea, but am still a bit unclear exactly what i should do to get going. I've downloaded the client (for windows) and would like to begin transferring at least a small portion of my savings into bit coins, as i've begun to believe its only a matter of time until the dollar loses all value. so here's my questions: 1) how to i transfer money into bit coins? 2) how do i transfer bit coins into real world goods (links to venders that accept them?) 3) how do i access my "wallet" from a different pc/tablet? 4) i format my pc about once a year, is there a way to transfer the wallet to a thumb drive or other such memory device?
