1  Economy / Lending / Request for 1.19 BTC on: August 03, 2012, 10:54:16 AM
Going to be straight forward.

My math was wrong and im 1.19 BTC short from placing an order online.

I don't really have the money too pay anyone back right now because if I did I wouldn't be typing this thread, id be using the money I would use too pay you back to just buy myself more BTC.

I did the math too have just enough money too get what I needed and as I said before the math was wrong because I didn't account for all the fees.

Anyways, if you are feeling generous and do send a bitcent or two my way, make sure you post so its apparent to everyone when Ive reached my goal.

Hate too be a beggar but my options are kinda limited since im trying too place this order for an upcoming event and should've already had said package mailed.

Im almost sure that im going to get flamed for this because im kinda new too this forum but id like to stay positive so you guys have a good rest of your day.

2  Economy / Exchanges / VirWoX SLL method - Bypass Risk API on: July 28, 2012, 07:51:05 AM
So I have a question about this.

Everyone who knows about this method probably knows about the Risk API they put in the game to protect against scamming/fraud which honestly doesn't make any sense too me because its just another way to exchange currency and don't see the potential for abuse. So if you know why its even there please enlighten me.

Anyways, I was wondering if there was any way you can send second life linden dollars from a second life account without using the game client too VirWoX or any where else for that matter.

Because I know when you log in too second life on there website your L$ balance shows up and you can still buy merchandise from the games website so it made me wonder if you could possibly send L$ from the website too?

Second life says play the game for 30 days and you should be able too transfer linden without being flagged. I had an account that was over 2 years old and after trading roughly 8000 linden which was close too about 5 bitcoins, I got flagged.

I dont understand why VirWoX advertises this method because advertising it is like saying we welcome new SLL-BTC traders when you have to be an average second life player to even use the feature without getting cut off, let alone just start up an account and help it out. I mean, wouldnt getting rid of the API make just buying linden and trading it do-able too the average person only increasing the already flourishing SLL BTC exchange market for both Linden Labs and VirWoX?

Oh well, I know im missing something thats exploitable because it wouldnt be there if it wasnt. Perhaps its charge backs too Linden Labs? Thats the only thing I can think of but if you could possibly verify your card info to Linden Labs through second life? I dont know.

Hopefully someone will shed some light and answer that for me! In the meantime thanks for reading!

Have a good one!

3  Economy / Trading Discussion / Quick question. Bitcoin Newb. on: July 24, 2012, 10:44:41 AM
How much (if at all) safer is too have bitcoins sent to your wallet before funding a sight such as silk road?

Like say for example: I buy some BTC from https://get-bitcoin.com/ and give them the address of a silk road account instead of my wallets address and then going from my wallet too SR? So like just bypass my wallet.

Are there any risks to doing so?

Im pretty new too bitcoin so this question might be a bit silly but im just curious if your wallet is only for storage or if it has something too do with encrypting the coins?

I dont really know so anyone whose willing too shed some light on me thanks!

Have a good day.
4  Other / Beginners & Help / Bitcoin Wallet Question on: July 24, 2012, 10:16:52 AM
Okay, yes, im newbie too bitcoins. Only really been dealing with them for a month or so and was wondering, if you bought bitcoins from any trusted site or bitinstant and you gave them an address that was other than too your bitcoin wallet in the bitcoin software could you possibly not receive them? Like, can you bypass your wallet and not have to worry about not getting your bitcoins as long as you know the place your having them sent too is also a legitimate coin receiver? For example: I want to buy some bitcoins but just want to fund my online account too buy internet goodies without going through my wallet first but im worried that if I dont have the coins sent to my wallet first I might not get them.

Its probably a real simple yes or no question and some people might laugh that I even bothered too ask but you can never be too cautious! Anyways thanks! Have a good day.
5  Economy / Trading Discussion / Best way to acquire bitcoins if your under 18? Harder than you think :/ on: July 24, 2012, 09:39:08 AM
Title pretty much explains it. I'm 17 and id like to know the easiest way I could get some BTC from the comfort of my home sitting in front of my computer. I have a debit / credit card and would like to know if there are any possible ways I can get some bitcoins. Just about every way you get bitcoins requires you to go through a site like dwolla or paypal or something of the nature and you have to be 18 to register on any major online banking / money transfer site and since most of them make you link your bank accounts or verify your CC info you cant get past the age requirement. I tried buying linden dollars through second life and transferring them in game to VirWox but anyone who knows this method probably knows about the risk API that flags new accounts. I even had a 2 year old account and was only able to transfer roughly 8000 linden which is about 5 bitcoins before it flagged me and I was no longer able too. I know I could try and buy from individual people certain ways but id like a trusted secure method if possible. Any input would be nice. Ive been trying to figure something out for a couple months with no luck. Ive made a few trips to the bank for cash deposits but the nearest bank is somewhat 40 minutes away and would just like a sit at home way to get my bitcoins. Any input would be great! Thanks guys, have a good one.

9  Other / Beginners & Help / WTS SLL for BTC. on: July 02, 2012, 10:25:21 AM
Okay, so im new too the forums and I hate to make this my first post but after lurking and reading a great bit on the subject ive realized that there isnt any way to reverse the mistake I made other than too ask help from you guys.  So Im only 17 which makes getting bitcoins extremley difficult with anything that involves my credit/debit card or linking my bank account because sites like Dwolla or anything else usually require you to be 18 and if I lie about my age they cant verify my bank account, but thats besides the matter. Ive been trying to aquire some bitcoins for the past week with no luck and have been trying to do it from the comfort of my home which seems fu*king impossible and im damn well fed up with this shit and its frustrating me to the point of no return lol. So I saw the second life linden dollar / virwox exchange method and anyone who knows about this knows about the DAMN RISK API. Its impossible to bypass the algorithm if your account gets black listed and I heard playing for 30 days can fix it but in most cases dosent so now im stuck with around 7250 lindens and cant wait 30 days. So any SLL/BTC exchangers, Ill give you all my linden for just 4 bitcoins. If you go look on virwox linden goes for usually 1750-1800 a bitcoin so 4 bitcoins at 1750 would be exactly 7000 which means you get about 250 free linden. Somebody please help. I dun goofed and need a solution Sad

Dont forget to mention this to friends and family because I really need some BTC lol.
