1  Economy / Gambling / Impossible KYC Requirements - Stake.com - Withholding $6000 USD on: June 29, 2023, 03:43:06 AM
Hello,

I have been holding off on posting this as it's likely, if there were a chance I would get paid. It's not happening after i go public but after 3+ months of jumping through never-ending KYC hoops its obvious to me that Stake.com have decided not to pay me under the guise of KYC and i want to warn people out there that if you play there, even if you are verfied to keep your balance low. Limit your exposure. Or just play somewhere else.

I am a Thai national currently travelling abroad on a working holiday which i assume is what initially triggered the Level 3 / 4 kyc request.
Thats ok, the account is legit, made in thailand. Thailand is my primary residence and i still reside at the premesis that is on my drivers license. All good right? I will just provide them with the information.

I was already level 1/2 verified but they asked for and i sent them.

Drivers License Back and front
Me holding drivers license
Passport back and front
Me holding passport.

Now the fun begins. Level 3 verification.

I send in
Me - official thai housing document. Stamped by thai government. Showing i live at this address. not approved.
Stake - They ask for a bill.
Me - Send in Gas bill
Stake - ask for a bill and proof of payment
Me - Send in Gas bill and bank statement showing the transfer
Stake - Ask for a bill less than a month old
Me - I wait a month for a new bill to come in and send this along with another bank statement showing payment.
Stake - Not accepted. Ask again for a bill less than a month old
Me - Starting to get worried.... Go back and forth many times with chat. They cant (or wont) tell me whats wrong
Me - Send in a different bill. physical electricity bill and physical proof of payment (this is written in thai)
Stake - Not accepted. They dont tell me why but i assume its because its in thai.
Me - I transfer my electricity account to an online account so i can give them new bills and payments in english
Me - Send in a new digital bill and digital proof of payment in english ( It even has a QR code on it )
Stake -

Now they are asking for THREE months of phsycial bills and physical payment receipts, not digital, Signitures?Huh ( signitures on what and from who??? ) and also stamp Huh Stamp from who Huh?

My problem is, in 2023 who gets physical proof of payment? But luckily in thailand, i can get phsyical receipts if i change my online account back to physical. I could collate the physical bills and receipts over the next three months however my bills and receipts will be in thai, the electricity company will not give you a phsycial receipt or bill in english and stake wont accept thai. Ive offered to pay for translation. Not accepted. I offered to meet someone in a thailand office and they said this. Which is ironic.

During all this they have also reset my level 2 verification and asked for a photo of my holding papers four seperate times. Which i have also supplied every time and i am now level 2 verified again.

I have never withdrawn from my account, I was not bonus whoring and i was not hitting bad lines.

Am i being unreasonable here? To be clear, they will not let me withdraw my money out. Maybe i deserve to lose 6k USD on a legitimate account because i vpned while working overseas? Can someone with a clearer head here suggest what my next steps should be.

I cant imagine how level 4 proof of payment is going to go when i show them wages from overseas ( which i sent back to thailand every week ) Which i can show proof for as well.

I have pm'd stunna a couple of weeks ago and to be fair, i see he hasnt logged into the board since i pm'd him. Maybe he can help and if he does, I will be equally embarrassed and grateful.

Frat Version :- Stake.com is withholding 6000 USD from me. Hiding behind impossible KYC requirements for internationals.
2  Economy / Lending / ThiagoCMC on: November 21, 2012, 01:33:32 AM

Finally some good news.

I am not too ashamed to say that i have lost more money lending and investing in bit coin players that i have ever made. We live and learn.

One ray of sunlight among the scammers and those that break their word is ThiagoCMC.

He is welcome to tell you the exact amounts but i lent him two considerable amounts of USD ( to be repaid in BTC ) and Thiago over a period of 3 months ( with interest accuring daily ) has made good on his loan to me. As of yesterday he has paid in full with interest accrued.

I thought some good news would be a welcome change In a bitcoin age when "respected" and renowned members are scamming people left right and centre.

Thank's again Thiago for being a stand up gentlemen!
3  Economy / Lending / Loan Request :- 200 BTC on: August 27, 2012, 12:11:34 AM
Hi Guys,

I would like a loan of 200 BTC ( more if possible ) for 1 week. Happy to provide any identification / collateral etc.
Please pm me your terms if interested.

And no... No shoe on head Wink
4  Economy / Securities / Gauging Interest :- Bit Bet Fund on: August 14, 2012, 06:41:51 AM
The idea around the fund would be a single release of 1000 units to market at an initial price of 1BTC each. Minimum purchase would be 50 units. The value of the unit would fluctuate with the value of the underlying securities.

I would have a website made so users can track the progress of their unit price and buy / sell units at their leisure.
There would be full disclosure for all members of underlying assets and deals.

Q: Why should I trust you?
A:. I would be happy to provide a single entity such as Patrick with full information on where i work, phone number, drivers license. No shoe on head photo sorry. But happy to have a photo with me holding a sign up for you guys Wink
2. My position at work allows me allot of free time to pursue interests. I have been an entrenpuer from an early age and have a love of making money.

Q: How would you make me money ?
A: I would primarily be making money through 1) Release of bitcoin gambling games 2) weak betting lines 3) Investment of unused capital which is waiting for deployment. The first bitcoin gambling game is due for release before the time this fund is opened. That should add some tangibility to the fund.

Q:Whats in it for you ?
A: On a financial level 10% of all profit.  I find the idea interesting. Leverage. Limits my risk

Q:Whats in it for me ?
A: Dividends will be paid on a monthly basis. They are not set and solely depend on profit for that month. There may be no dividends if the month is not profitable. The fund will also always buy back units at the underlying unit price advertised for that week.

Q:Whats the risk ?
A: I cant guarantee that the fund will be profitable. Perhaps the money spent on games will be cash flow negative or the betting lines turn against us. I could show you screenshots of my betting accounts of how i turned small sums of money into large sums of money however i can not guarantee that performance will continue and really that only takes up a small portion of this fund. Approx 10%. Everything else i plan on doing is un-tested and un-proven.

I do understand that in the world of  "guaranteed" 3+ % per week returns the idea of potentially your investment going down is not an attractive one. I counter that with 1) I am a real person with a real family. I am not going anywhere. There is zero risk i am fleeing with your funds. 2) I have a track record of making money but for integrity sake i can not guarantee a % per week. I trust people will appreciate the honesty.

Q:Do you plan to IPO on GLBSE ?
A: I could but i feel i can remove an added layer of potential risk by developing my own website. I have the funds and team to do this without much fuss. Also i do not feel that GLBSE has the structure to support my exact offering of a fund that trades on its Net Tangible Assests (NTA). I am really limiting your risk of downside by doing this. However if the culture demands i list on the GLBSE i am happy to do this.

These are my thoughts. I am currently doing all of the above anyway, regardless of whether i open up a fund. I just thought it could be a unique way of leveraging my time and having a little fun while i'm at it.

Thoughts welcome.

6  Bitcoin / Mining support / windows or linux? on: July 18, 2012, 05:27:05 AM

I've done a quick search and nothing showed on the first 2 pages.

I'm just curious why there seems to be a preference for linux based rigs over windows?

Is this an ideological preference or performance based preference ?
7  Economy / Marketplace / What's not catered for in bitcoin land ? on: July 15, 2012, 06:24:00 AM
I could theoretically throw spare resources at projects for the bitcoin community.

The project would ideally be self sustaining at some point ( read :- cash flow positive ).

It seems the ideas I had around gambling been catered for, others around the lending community don't seem feasible.

Where does that leave us ?
8  Economy / Currency exchange / WTB :- BTC for AUD on: July 14, 2012, 10:58:16 PM

Hi Guys,

Id like to circumnavigate the 10% fee I have to pay on spendbitcoins and buy direct from someone in return you will get the top rate for your BTC.

I don't mind paying the current buy rate of 7.66.
Also happy to transfer you the money with bank deposit first for long standing members.

Else if your a "newbie" like I am you will need to take the leap of faith and transfer to me first.

I have 200BTC with patrick that you can have if I don't honour the deal.
9  Bitcoin / Project Development / Implementing bitcoin into your website. on: July 13, 2012, 11:19:44 AM
Is there any FAQ's / How to's out there about integrating the ability to accept / work with the BTC backend into your website?
Pointers in the right direction would be great Wink
