1  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Checking balance of another address from daemon? on: September 08, 2013, 04:13:37 AM
Hey all,

I am looking to check the balance of an address I don't own (e.g. 1HtUGfbDcMzTeHWx2Dbgnhc6kYnj1Hp24i) from the daemon, is this possible using an existing command? I have tried getreceivedbyaddress and listreceivedbyaddress but they do not seem to work.

Thanks for your help!
2  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Warning: The network does not appear to fully agree! on: August 30, 2013, 02:26:40 AM
Hey all,

I have just set up Bitcoin on a new server and for the last few hours (and after several resets) I am getting a message: "Warning: The network does not appear to fully agree! Some miners appear to be experiencing issues."

Blockchain does not download even though I have 20+ connections. Is this just me or is anyone else having this issue? Any recent changes I may not know about that would cause this?

I am on Debian Squeeze 7.1, strangely Litecoin is working fine

3  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Coins-e.com PHP sample on: July 23, 2013, 01:40:20 PM
Hey everyone,

I am looking at getting trading on coins-e.com however with my limited of knowledge of python, I would much rather use PHP to write my bot. Does anyone have some sort of coins-e.com PHP sample I could peruse? Or perhaps someone who knows both PHP and python? Smiley I have tried to convert the cryptsy sample (PHP), however I have yet to be successful! I would appreciate any help very much.

Thank you!

8  Bitcoin / Legal / FinCEN and BitInstant on: November 08, 2012, 07:14:21 AM
I have been reading the AML policy of BitInstant, which seems to be passing the buck on anti-money laundering on to the exchanges such as MtGox apologies to BitInstant, I redact this statement. This seems like a legal gray zone so I am hoping someone with a little US legal experience could say if this sort of practice is legal, or if it could cause problems down the road. I am considering using BitInstant for transfers but would like to minimize legal risk.

Thanks
9  Economy / Currency exchange / MtGox Autosale on: November 08, 2012, 06:34:39 AM
I have a question about the MtGox Autosale feature, if I were to make a merchant button for $100.00 and turn on the autosale feature, how much of this will I get? (Do I pay the fees, share them, or are they paid by the buyer?) I read if the amount is sent from an external wallet, you need to wait for 6 confirmations before the coins can be sold, does this mean there is there a variance to how much I will get?

Thanks
10  Other / Beginners & Help / How many transactions can I send and receive from one address? on: October 15, 2012, 06:14:26 AM
I would like to know how a bitcoin address remains secure after sending a transaction, is there a limit to the amount of transactions sent from a singular address before that the private key becomes compromised?

I have been doing a lot of reading into bitcoin and can't find much info about transactions specifics, any info or links are appreciated! Thanks!!
11  Other / Beginners & Help / How many transactions can I send and receive from one address? on: October 15, 2012, 06:06:09 AM
I was wondering how many transactions can be sent or received from a single address before that the private key might be compromised. I've been reading a lot about bitcoin, but can't seem to find information about how transactions are signed and how they remain secure after the first tx is sent.

Any info or reading is much appreciated! Thanks!
