When I was becoming an adult I had to do national exams to enter University.
Interestingly enough, I had absolutely remarkable marks, namely at mathematics and other engineering related subjects.
Actually, there was one exam where I had TWENTY TWO out of twenty (because of an exceptional grade mark award given to all students due to a faulty question. (Beat that! )

Some years later I had to do a Statistics unit at University and... I failled. Epic fail!

This story may be a hint on why 21 million (and not 22) or some other number as the limit of bitcoins possible to mint.

And this is one of the true stories that makes "Satoshi Nephew" an interesting anecdote, somehow like a zen story.

I believe Satoshi paper is the paper his nephew would be really proud of (I AM...!!) if he (in this case, I) was indeed the genius he wanted to be and could handle and show off some interesting Statistical analysis and C++ programming - at such a level, as it does.

I know it sounds really crazy but it is really true. It really makes sense.

What about some very cheap devices (from Asia? sure) you could get on ebay and have them set with your bitcoin address of choice that would be pulsing that bitcoin address in Morse code, or any other 34 alphanumeric chars, for that matter.
People would film the birds at night with their iphones and cypher the messages or bitcoin addresses, and if they liked the idea because they love animals and reckon they would feel we were giving them more importance, or for any other reason, like they just like it and have fun trying to find out and donating to the bitcoin addresses that was providing it.
The devices could use the kinetic energy to feed the eletricity for the lights to pulse (dynamos, like bikes use) and it would have just a small battery for the microcontroller of it.

You could love the bird sending tiny satoshis whenever you would see it again.

Let the birds feel a bit more important. Let them be given a bit more attention and importance.

What we need on torrents is that both provider of contents and user of them can have a username so that the users can rank the providers and give feedback to what they provide.
Also providers could put a price on what they submit and tell a bitcoin address to receive that money in bitcoins regarding the content they are providing. For the same item providers with a better ranking would have their items listed first, so you would find it easy to pick items for well ranked providers and so be sure that you would get what you were paying for.

The really interesting thing is that once you would get your content a bitcoin address of your choice could be set and added to the list of addresses that own that file on the torrents world, for has long as you have it for seeding on your hardrive, so all following money paid for the item would be divided by all listed bitcoin addresses for that item, and you could recover part of the money that you did put in.
Here is a use case:
A provider lists an item for 2.5 Bitcoins and lists a bitcoin address for that item to be paid.
The first user to get that item would pay 2.5 bitcoins and have a bitcoin address of his choice added to the list of owners of that item. Such bitcoin addresses would be listed as long as you have the item available on your hard drive.
So the second user to get that item would pay also 2.5 BTC and half of it, 1.25 BTC would go to each of the bitcoin addreses (that at that moment would still be only two) listed as seeders of that item.
So first seeder would now got 2.5+1.25=3.75 BTC; second seeder -2.5+1.25=-1.25 and the last user that got it -2.5 BTC.
The latter could then add a bitcoin address and so, when a forth user got it:
first seeder would now have got 2.5+1.25+0.83333333=4.58333333 BTC; second seeder -2.5+1.25+0.83333333=-0.4166667 and the last user that got it -2.5 BTC.
And so on, so if you were one of the first to make the investement you could have your money back soon and still make some money from it thereafter.


What do you reckon?

You set your profile and when logged you can try to find people according to criteria like he/they speak french, and/or play the piano, lives near such and such places, has such and such profile and uses to go to such and such places and areas and wants to meet for an event or activity, around such place/area to watch a specific movie at the cinema.

The time you provide to the bank may be slightly increased or reduced according to a weighting factor regarding the level of difficulty to fill your desired request.
You may make yourself more available and later be more able to redeem time that you would prefer having spent in other way.

The system would be very intelligent to optimise encounters, and daily donations could be distributed at the end of the day according to the feedback and rating! each gets.

I am sure this could be a great way to meet people, make friends and find ideal lovers.
I think a system that uses bitcoin and p2p network could implement this kind of services but maybe a website is all that would be needed.

Sometimes I would like to join people to do something I am not completly interested in but that would count more than others for time I could later request for others to join me and come along with me to it.

The power of it may rely mostly on profiding a good profile system that integrates well with the searching and filering of all sorts of availability.

I love the timabanking concept and am sure that we have yet to see something that can take it to the next level: whoever you are, wherever you are and where you want to go with someone that ideally will relate well with you and provide you with a good freeback and rating.

Basically, timebanking for lonely people that have no one to go out wwith or be with and are willing to exchange time spent with others, according to a set of rules and sorting out that would make it optimal for people that want to socialize more and be particularly rewarded by less reciprocally willfully ones.

I'm not sure where exactly would bitcoin and p2p networks make the big difference but would like to hear from you and know what to you think and reckon of this.

Let me explain briefly the way forward a completely decentralised mail system that would also act as a system to make public to everyone our tracking so that will become possible to trace the locations in space and time of everyone that is willing to participate in it to benefit from it and help making it more possible and useful for others.

We would have a client app for our trackable devices that would use a p2p network to calculate and tell the necessary participants the best route possible - stattistically and using intelligent algorithms - for a packet to be delivered telling the participants the next place to deliver it so that you receive a fraction of the donations made that day to the system according an evaluation made by the system of the effort and time provided by your service relatively to the other ones.

Everything that moves may for that matter use a bitcoin address to be tracked in space and time.

Imagine you could put a very cheap device on everything that moves, including yourself, that would track it puting its coordinates in space and time! and tell all other nodes all the time.

I am trying to think if we could use bitcoin, namely encoding such information into the blockchain for a very small cost, or if we would need some other protocol and network for that.

It would be like the sender putting a geolocation (gps coordinates and time) and the system helping your item all the time for it to get to its destination.

The the mobile app would use a p2p network of the sort of bitcoin or somehow using bitcoin, maybe, to calculate the best route possible according to the routine routes of the participants and devices.

The participants and devices would communicate with each other to make their location in space and time! public to all others all the time, and help each moving part of it reach the desired places with optimised routes.

I am still thinking about it all and there is a lot that is needed to be sorted out, but eventually we will have a very efficient way of posting things that will be a bit like geocaching and will be free from conventional post service.

We need it to optimise the reliability of their users and their queuing places and the probability that each item will get to the desired place at the required time.

Imagine how much liberty that would provide.

Soon, doctors will loose much of their power to control us forcing us to take drugs we really don't want to take and prevent us from taking the ones we really want.
I have suffered so much from such and pitty so much the "institutionalised" people that see this is possibly the greatest relief and liberation the world will see after bitcoin, that is coming to stay, for sure.

What I also have in mind is for people to cooperate to have their ids - that is willing to participate in such a public endeavour - protected by each other by proving they were in such and such place at such and such time, and not at any other, while providing for optimization in the way things shall reunite.

There is still a lot to think about it, but I definetly see light at the end of the tunnel.

Suposedelly, the system would compensate you in a very fair way for your participation and for making it all possible, and there would be a poll for donations that would then be redistributed in such a fair way, instead of other forms of payment that are not so willfully.

Doing what we could and found possible, we would get compensated in a fair enough way.

I call it postcoin so that we differentiate such project and ideas from bitcoin. A bit of housekeeping.
But eventually, we will be able to use bitcoin and its logic to extend to such endeavours and intents.

Using the same logic as for my idea of renting a wifi with password, we could have a site help us rent a computer with a specific operating system and/or software, and paying in bitcoins directly to the owner of the machine.
According to the licenses of them it could be legal or illegal to rent specific machines.
This could use something like TeamViewer - that is what I use for remote access. It works great with all sorts of devices.
But the website would actually help you find a specific machine and use a specific client (that could be other than TeamViewer) for the remote access according to your criteria of choice.
It doesn't seem overcomplicated to develop such a website.
I think I am going to try to implement such, using PHP, for hotspots and remote access for strangers. 
It would certainly be another jump into disruptive matters.

Here is how it would work:
there woul be a site - very popular ideally -
where you could geolocate your wifi and let a bitcoin based escrow system have your password availabe for a certain time for a certain amount of bitcoins that would enable anyone to rentabilize his wifi. He would only have to change the password often after providing the service and update the new password that could be rented again by another.

The creator of bitcoin could well be my oncle.
And although I don't believe it is, this could give us a perspective of the possible profile of Satoshi, or/and of his inner circle.
The name my oncle uses as author is:
"António Franco Alexandre".
He has published several books of poetry in Portuguese and is professor of philosophy, in Lisbon.
He did study "Lie Groups" and other advanced mathematics at Harvard university back in the 70's.
His about the age of S'akamoto and his son's name, a very dear boy, was Samulel, that died tragically with 17 years old.

Boy, this is fascinating... And it is all true.

My oncle has a special love with Japanese culture and loves watching operas in DVD (is it relevant?). Actually, he knows the best operas in DVD.

If this all makes him a great profile, we will never know.

What about a protocol that used the figures in percentage (in scientific notation, sure) relatively the totality of bitcoins instead of a number of bitcoins that is completly arbitarily. As far as I understand there is no reason why the maximum number of bitcoins tends to 21 million and not another such big number.
Using percentages the values could be expressed in a simillar way, using decimal.
You could simply stipulate that the decimal value, in this protocol, would mean percentage of the totality of bitcoins, and still all be the same, and the values having eight decimal places on the right.
Maybe you would need rounding at some point. I'm not sure.

What about sponsoring Internet Providers to block websites that don't accept bitcoin?
You would have crowfunding pay for it and people would get a cheaper internet connection for that trade-off: having websites that don't accept bitcoin blocked.
My IP blocks piratebay website because it is a piracy site. So I think this could be a policy of an Internet Provider.
Sites that were considered particularly unfriendly to bitcoin would be blocked and bitcoin lovers would pay for that.

Yesterday I was looking at map that showed popularity of bitcoin worldwide and was wondering why Russia got the first place.
There is a good reason for bitcoin being so popular in Russia.
It is probably because there is a Russian TV channel that discusses bitcoin all the time: "Russia Today" TV (rt.com).
This may tell us how important is mediatic coverage for bitcoin popularity.

The origin of the name Satoshi Nakamoto may be related to the very famous Japanese musician:
