1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Do you believe in crypto ratings? on: June 25, 2020, 01:19:34 PM
Hello,

I see big differences between these two big rating agencies CCID (The China Center for Information Industry Development) and WeissRating. According to CCID is Bitcoin one of the worst cryptocurrencies. In WeissRating Bitcoin has achieved the best mark. Also, EOS in WeissRating has a pretty different rating. How can they get so different results?

What is your thought? Do you think that we are finally found the bottom, or it is a fake bull sign and crypto will fall more?

6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Ethereum - Total supply, POS and future price? on: August 12, 2018, 12:12:33 PM
Hello,
I would like to ask you how many total Ethers will exist? I canīt find this information and it seems that number of Ethers will be unlimited? So Ethereum is created to be deflation currency? And what will happen when we switch the consensus to Proof of Stake? Many people will earn free Ethers and many people will want to sell they earned Ethers. So for me it seems that Ether will be cheaper and cheaper in the future.
What is your opinion, please?
7  Economy / Services / Does this exist? Bonding for sellers of goods that generate private keys. on: October 30, 2012, 10:12:54 PM
Someone asked me a very good question today about the unfunded notes I am selling (see my sig) ...

They asked "what is to prevent you from keeping copies of the private keys"

My only response is.. I'm not that type of person, I destroy the keys immediately after printing...

Lawn mowers are bonded... construction workers are bonded... I was even bonded at a job I held once.

So I ask, is there a bonding service for people like me who are selling something which initially has no value but is intended to have an unknown value?

Is there a trusted bondsman for someone like me?

8  Economy / Goods / [FOR SALE] - Beautiful Paper Bitcoins - UNFUNDED - Custom Printing - Any amount on: October 24, 2012, 02:34:16 PM

All you need to do is add funds to the notes and then give them away or sell them. These notes are beautiful! Easy to redeem! Redemption Instructions included. Webcam or smartphone required to redeem. Email support is free.

Edit - Nov 18 - LAST CALL! - DO NOT ORDER AFTER NOVEMBER 19. I AM LEAVING FOR MIAMI ON MY SAILBOAT ON NOV 21.

If you sell coins on eBay or are interested in selling coins on eBay, this is the safest way to do it.

Bitcoins regularly sell for 60% over market value on eBay.

The front side of the note has a beautifully intricate design featuring Leonardo Davinci. There are two QR codes. One for the public key used to fund the note and one for the private key used to redeem the note. The back side of the note features beautiful and helpful text in a wave pattern. The private key is protected from both sides of the note with a high quality holographic tamper evident sticker.

You can choose from the Leonardo design, the PSY design or the Turing design. The leonardo design is the same size as a US dollar. The PSY design is slightly smaller lengthwise. The turing design is the smallest of the three. if you prefer a custom design, which you provide, I can do that too but there will be a setup charge.

Your notes will be custom printed with a name of your choice reading "Printed By: [Your Name Here]"
You can choose from the following denominations .01, .05, .10, .25, .50, 1, 5, 10, 20, 25, 50, 100 or "blank".
Custom Vanity addresses will be created for your notes. You can pick a word up to 5 characters long to appear in the public key. Some examples are....

Vanity addresses and private keys are generated in a completely off-line environment on my RPI specifically set up for this task. 100% air-gap security from generation to print. Key information is destroyed once printing is complete and the printer's history is wiped clean after every print.

Paper notes can be used as a bitcoin piggybank. Completely offline, completely safe from hackers. No one can steal the funds you store on a paper note. Put the note in a safety deposit box and it is even safer!

The ink on these notes will not smudge and will not bleed when wet. It will survive a trip through the washing machine but you've only got a 50/50 shot of it surviving the dryer  All the notes I have tested were still readable after going through the wash/dry cycle in my laundry machines. Some notes were shredded in the dryer run but even with the shredded notes, the tamper evident sticker held the redeem QR code together enough that the private key could be read.

You can add any quantity of funds to the note.

Paper notes are very safe. A hacker cannot steal money stored on a paper note.

USA SALES ONLY PLEASE! If demand is high enough, I will offer international shipping.
I WILL ONLY SHIP TO A VERIFIED PAYPAL ADDRESS IF PAYING BY PAYPAL!
No p.o. Boxes!
FREE SHIPPING - FREE SHIPPING - FREE SHIPPING - FREE SHIPPING - FREE SHIPPING

If you don't trust me and want to have escrow, I have the same item on BitMit at the same price with escrow.

I will put your item in the mail the same day you order. Delays are possible with vanity addresses that have a higher difficulty.
Please PM me for instructions. I prefer BTC Payments so the BTC price is discounted.

Please note, the turing design is not compatable with my tamper evident stickers and none will be provided for the turing notes.

If you prefer to have no tamper evident stickers Just let me know and a larger redeem QR code will be printed on the notes.

The PSY design image shows what it looks like when the tamper evident sticker is removed.

10  Economy / Scam Accusations / The eBay Scammer List on: September 15, 2012, 01:36:55 AM
eBay is a pretty dangerous place to buy or sell bitcoins. It's especially dangerous for sellers. In an effort to help protect buyers and sellers I'm starting a list of eBay scammers. Please post your additions to the list. Scammed party may remain anonymous. Scammers may not.

The primary intention is to protect people but there is also a secondary intention, to give butthurt buyers and sellers an opportunity to make it right. Sometimes, shit happens. It's never too late to make it right.

Digital delivery of coins on eBay is a sure way to get scammed often. If you're selling on eBay switch to selling paper currency. You can ship them media mail for about $2.70 with DCN using the PayPal shipping interface. Be sure to only ship to verified addresses. Never let a new buyer talk you into digital delivery. Selling smaller amounts is safer. Do your best not to be the low hanging fruit that scammers seek out. Your coins will sell no matter what ridiculous fees your charging (Trust me on that).

Here is a site which can help you print paper bitcoins. He makes the source available, I suggest you download it, edit it, and run it locally. http://print.printcoins.com/ check out the "print your own" link. Be sure to kick the guy some coin.
11  Other / Beginners & Help / Calculated Effectivness of GPU Mining come October? on: August 21, 2012, 09:50:15 PM
Hi Smiley

So I'm now a couple months into a $2500 hardware investment. I've got 3 MSI Lightening HD 7970s running full time, stable at ~710MH/s for each card.

I've paid for 1/3 of my investment after electricity costs.

Has anyone done specific calculations on various hardware for what can be expected when the ASIC stuff comes out from butterfly labs? Their website claims that "no one will be able to mine with FPGA/GPU hardware after October."

 Is this a true statement?

Basically I'm wondering if I should try to sell this hardware now while I still can since the 8000 series of GPUs are due out in a week or two (not that anyone can get one then but..). I would hate to get "stuck" with hardware I can't use anymore. I'm not a game enthusiast.

12  Other / Beginners & Help / I have cgminer 2.6.5 compiled for Mac OSX OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion on: August 18, 2012, 05:43:59 PM
Hello,

I have cgminer 2.6.5 compiled for Mac OSX 10.8 Mountain Lion.

It was kind of a pain to get to compile so if anyone wants a copy of it I would be happy to send it on to you. I don't know how to add it to the repository and since I've only been lurking here this is the only forum it would let me post in Smiley

It does not have ADL support. I couldn't locate ADL libraries for mac. If anyone can point me to them, I will be happy to recompile with ADL support.

It's better than the version I could find for mac online... this one has the nicer ncurses interface and interactive configuration command support I went through the trouble in the hopes I can run FPGA boards on my macbook pro. Anxiously waiting for the opportunity to purchase a ModMiner rig.

So, if you want a pre-compiled binary of cgminer 2.6.5 then email me... I would be happy to email you a tgz file. The package includes everything needed to run cgiminer 2.6.5 on your mac and the README/COPYING/source code/etc files which come with other binaries. I think the forum will notify me if you message me here.

If, after you've received a copy of cgminer you want to drop me a bitpenny or two.. That would be super groovy, here is an address to donate.
