1  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Paper Wallets on: October 29, 2012, 11:35:10 AM
Okay, a few questions. First of all, are paper wallets still relevant? Secondly I have a question regarding their usage. Not too skilled in the technical lingo, but basically a paper wallet is a private key for an address that has coins in it? Basically, if I wanted to sell a paper wallet to someone, what is stopping me from giving them the slip of paper, and when they leave, I just hurry up and transfer the bitcoins to a different wallet before they do?

Hey guys, kind of late minute, but I'm going to run a standard yahoo fantasy football league. I'll take 8-12 teams. Entry will be 1 BTC. Draft will be tuesday evening. Payout will be 1st, 2nd, 3rd. 50% 30% 20%. Pm me if you're interested or have questions. I am in 4 other leagues under the same yahoo name with family and friends so i would not dare rip anyone off.
3  Economy / Gambling / Place Your Bets. Giving 2 more points to dallas than Vegas. 2:1 return as of now on: August 30, 2012, 02:08:11 AM
The Giants will beat the Dallas Cowboys by more than 6 in the 2012 NFL season opener. It's my wager so help a newbie out and maybe make some money. You only have to throw down 0.1 btc if you don't want to go any higher.

Anyone know or want to start a good thread listing all the good BTC poker freerolls and tourneys? I know about SWC and BTC on tilt, but tilt never has any good ones that I see.
5  Other / Beginners & Help / Money Laundering on: August 27, 2012, 11:39:32 AM
I keep hearing how btc is being used to launder money, but isn't money laundering where you legitimize illegal money? I mean, you have to buy the coins and then convert it back to cash. If you are making large purchases that are suspicious to the IRS, then how will BTC explain this or make it legal.
6  Other / Beginners & Help / LTC and ASICS on: August 25, 2012, 07:57:29 AM
I have no idea what ASICS are, nor do I care. I just know they are about to screw average joe miners. (correct?) I want to know if ASICS will be allowed to mine LTC. If I bought a $100 dollar GPU on ebay and put it in an old tower with a monitor, would I need anything else and how many LTC would I be creating a day at the current difficulty?
