21  Economy / Economics / Google Wallet and Bitcoin on: May 16, 2013, 07:40:17 PM
With the news about Gmail being able to send payments to another person's Google Wallet,  would you consider this a positive development for BitCoin or a negative?  Could we eventually expect to be able to exchange BitCoin USD to Google Wallet money which would be easier to withdraw?  Could this possibly compete with the idea of Bitcoins , send money to anyone, anywhere?

I look forward to your thoughts.

30  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Quick question on: September 22, 2012, 02:34:38 AM
Has anyone that's a developer thought of using Ps3's to mine bitcoins?  A while back, the military wanted to test about 300 of them for a cheap, small, portable SC.  Wouldn't we be able to design a install to mine for us?  Just thinking... Huh

33  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / GPU mining question. on: September 11, 2012, 07:06:44 PM
The 5800 series is highly recommended?  Why?

If I'm looking at GPU mining, what should I look for?  Stream cores?  Memory bandwidth?  etc...

What makes a GPU great at mining?  Thanks!

35  Other / Beginners & Help / Why am I so heistent... on: August 30, 2012, 07:46:43 PM
on buying some SC's....

Is it a scam?
Will they perform as they should?
Do I want to invest in mining for BC?
Are there any strong examples of people actually making money or is this more of a hobby?
I have enough hobbies, do I need another one?
What's on the tv tonight?
I'm sleepy, I should hit the bed!

Pretty much my train of thoughts....
36  Other / Beginners & Help / Instead of buying equipment to mine coins... on: August 24, 2012, 07:56:12 PM
My current starter build will cost about 600$ USD.  It will mine, hopefully, about 700Mhash/s.  Why wouldn't I go with BFL's ‘Jalapeno’ which, for $149, says 3.5GH/s and buy three of those?

I understand these are ASCI and if a major component changes within bitcoin, these wouldn't be able to adapt, but any other reasons?
37  Other / Beginners & Help / Looking for possible improvements on this setup before I buy it. on: August 23, 2012, 07:35:49 PM
http://secure.newegg.com/WishList/PublicWishDetail.aspx?WishListNumber=14815694

I've looked though a couple of articles and post's here and I don't understand how someone with a 5000 Series is getting over 500 mg hash when my current doesn't' has a 6970 in it and only get's a little over 300.
