2  Economy / Speculation / Opa Gangnam Style !!! nearly 70 usd now! on: March 21, 2013, 02:32:38 PM
crash my ass....

Apart from  the technical trading indicators, that are good for market timing, the fundamental qualities of BTC is what is imho driving the market up... you know - anonymity, ease of transfer, divisibility, security when backed up appropriately, etc etc ....

So

1. do you agree?
2. Dont u think its happening so fast ? Gotta love that digital era we're in...

3. PS. Cheers to Greece, Cyprus and the rest of Southern Europe - you guys help bitcoin a lot. If u need monetary security - maybe bitcoin can help u too ?

3  Other / Beginners & Help / make 15% ROI with 1.7 btc via gambling - www.bitcoincrown.com on: March 18, 2013, 04:38:37 PM
http://www.bitcoincrown.com/

How it works
You can buy the Bitcoin Crown for 1.736 bitcoins!

Afterwards its value will increase by 25% (0.434 bitcoins), and after the next buyer takes it off your hands, you will receive 1.996 bitcoins (15% profit)!

-----

Disclaimer: Of course this is gambling and statistically the players lose to the house... But if u like the thrill of gambling - this one is nice... the total statistical loss is way smaller than the standard high percentages in real world casinos...

4  Economy / Speculation / all btc casinos are doing quite well and are one of the main btc engines on: March 17, 2013, 04:36:40 PM
While playing this simple to setup ( and play ) gambling site :

http://www.bitcoincrown.com/

( yes, I know what u think - the answer is: I already exited from the crwon owner's place )

I thought to myself - its kinda shameful that gambling propells this world saving new thing BTC...

So alongside gambling and moeny l..ndering what are the major other factors that pump capital into btc ?

What do u think?

Can u give a list in importance descending order ?

5  Economy / Speculation / At no point was there a double spend in the longest chain on: March 13, 2013, 09:42:00 AM
This is a short summary of a neighbour thread:

Quote from: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=152363.msg1619287#msg1619287

Whole thread:  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=152363.0

"this wasn't a double spend - it was a single spend on two different blockchains - I'm not sure why everyone is so concerned about this - the spend only existed once in the longest chain, it just happened that the longest chain changed, and it changed after 6+ confirmations had already happened in a previous longest chain.  The issue here was that the merchant ignored or did not know about the advice to not accept confirmed blocks from the currently longest chain (the 0. because the 0.7 chain was going to outgrow it and invalidate those transactions.

At no point was there a double spend in the longest chain, which is exactly how bitcoin is designed to work.

Will"

So stop the "double spend panic" ... Nothing near a 2-spend happened really.

Link to post with tx info : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=103358.msg1162239#msg1162239

When you load up the whole thread - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=103358.0;all

and search for btcbeast's posts - you wont find tx info for the payback.

Nor has he claimed payback.

We had couple of emails where he said he has paid. No btc in my client  - and I told him.
He said "I will transfer again". And no answer since....

So unless he answers in 1 week here or there with tx id and I see the money - he is a fraudster. God have mercy on him one day.

7  Bitcoin / Project Development / bitcoin wiki backups / mirrors - your help needed - https://en.bitcoin.it/ on: September 28, 2012, 02:27:49 AM
Hi,

I told a friend today about bitcoin. And they told me "their site is down."

For a newb the wiki is the site of Bitcoin... and when it's down - this is so bad for us as a community.

So we need to backup and mirror.

Ways you can help:

1. Donate usd/btc to the points below ( for non-tech users or users with no time and btc at hand)
2. Help write an auto-refreshing-mirror-in-a-box for the wiki's xml - for easy install on any webhost [ overall cost - 5h or work - around 100 usd ]
3. Install such a mirror on a server of yours [ cost should be 0.5 - 1 h to do - 10 usd ]
4. Host the mirror continuously [ cost 5 usd / mo , 60 / year]

Are there volunteers ? Do you want to help?

I begin writing the script and will post any updates here. I will also setup several mirrors.

I accept btc at 1ET3n9xtnyXdy4o7e1K1jq9PsaRKueYShN

Will publish any donations here.

8  Economy / Services / [WTS] Highly creative Drupal developer (8 years 100% drupal exp.) physics backg. on: September 16, 2012, 07:43:21 AM
I announce that I am open for requests from people who have a Drupal website and struggle with bugs or need new features.

Tired of googling without end how to solve A,B or C?

I can debug/solve your bugs 5-10 times faster than a non-pro (and many times - way faster than a pro) and you will actually save money paying me a higher than average rate per hour. This is how I do it - if you need cheap and crappy young guys - go find one.

I read the drupal API docs for breakfast, lunch and dinner. For the last 8 years. I manage multiple servers and sites for my clients. I have an empty time slot as of right now so I post here...

Also bitcoin payments have some known advantages like ... yeah we all know them...

Whoever I pick of the people I've worked with - they will vouch for me being honest, strict and pretty smart.

So if you need :
- bug fixing
- a new simple site - I can give you advice which CMS or non-CMS solution to use.
- a more complicated custom project - I will tell you if Drupal is gonna be right for your needs - and I will build it fast...
- some software to do X - ask me - I know tons of tools and their best use - task management, mindmapping, time tracking, web design, building webpages etc etc...

My rate fluctuates between 25 eur and 18 eur per hour. Depending on the length of the project.

Since this is a bitcoin forum - I accept payments in bitcoins. Paypal also.  And bank account transfers too.

If needed and on a case by case basis - I can issue regular business invoices.

So what do you want to know ?

In another thread I am ready to help you for free - just ask and I will tell you if I can help:

9  Economy / Services / [FREE] [intel7] Drupal, WP, Linux, Bash, regexp, software alt. advice from a pro on: September 16, 2012, 07:38:09 AM
Hi, guys,

just ask me tech questions and I will consult you for free.

If you have some nasty bug in your Drupal install or need to build a website - ask.

Common sense applies - I wont be taking hours of my time to help you for free - but 5-30 mins here and there are 100% okay.

I want to help you and hopefully win you as my client.

I like my clients smart - so thats why I post this in here. Lots of smart people indeed.

RULES of discussion:
- Everybody is allowed one post per question and I will post and re-edit one answer-post to that question.
- The bulk of the communication can be done over PM-s or even better skype - my skype is drupal-pro .
- This way the thread wont get too long and hard to read.
- if it is confidential - PM me or skype me.

What do you think ?
10  Economy / Service Discussion / Mtgox sux - chat logs pasted on: September 14, 2012, 08:59:29 AM
Hi,

mtgox allowed me to fund my account ( I thoughtfully funded only 1 btc to test how things go)

but when I try to withdraw - they tell me - "You must verify - post a scan of your ID here..."

I was told that my account was flagged for verification , cause my ip is having more than one user.... This is nuts - how many ISP-s group users under one IP... and it is even more so with mobile users...

So now without sending them my ID scanned I cant withdraw this measily 10-11 bucks (1 btc...)

Dont use mtgox if yoou dont want to give them your ID. Or you can use a fake photoshopped ID - I dont know if that would work...

Here is the chat log:

Danny
Hi there. How can I help today?
Danny has joined the room
User
hi, this is User - the user who by mistake began the AML procedure to test it.
User
Then I am stuck and cannot withdraw my 1 btc .
User
Although without entering the AML I could withdraw before...
User
so pleae find a way out of this situation - or should I seek assistance from the mtgox owners ?
User
or post my sotry in the bitcointalk forum ?
Danny
Let me check the details
Danny
Please let me know if you have any existing ticket
User
Ticket #37524: new iban bank account validation ? How long will it take?
Danny
well unfortunately we will not be able to cancel the AML validation
Danny
The account has to be validated to proceed further
User
but I wont enter any details
User
I dont want to
User
I just clicked this button by mistake
User
can I close the account ? And withdraw the 1 btc prior to that ?
Danny
Well there is no buttons to initiate the verification process
Danny
It was flagged since your IP address is using more than one account
Danny
You can just provide the documents
Danny
These documents are only used for verification and nothing else
User
are u kiding me ?
User
since when is one IP = one person ?
User
my network is setup in such a way that many users use the same ip
User
there are networks in which 1 ip takes care for 1 million users!
Danny
We allow only one account per user
Danny
The system might have trigged the verification process since there are multiple users
Danny
You can provide the documents and we can lift the withdrawal limit
User
its not a limit
User
its a ban to witdrwa
User
w
User
even 10 usd ( roughly this 1 bt)
User
c
User
your security system is hugely inadequate
User
any willing user can setup several diff ips and users ...
User
so if I am a completely honest user but I dont trust you - I am fucked right ?
User
cause you are technologically stupid
User
with these bans
User
I dont know - I will post these chats to the community and we'll see if I am right - what the others think
User
I am sure there are other better services than mtgox
Danny
Well we are already working with the systems to resolve this issue
User
appreciated
Danny
But it might take more time and accounts that are already flagged amy not be included
Danny
* may
Danny
So we still might need to verify your account
User
no way I can give some unknown entity my personal ID
Danny
These documents will be uploaded in the systems and used only for verification
User
are u aware that many ISP-s use the same IP for many users ?
Danny
Unfortunately we will not be able to help without the documents
User
and I am sure you have users like me all the time ...
User
the bitcointalk.org forum users thank you for this chat.
Danny
We apologise for what has happened. But we need to verify the account
11  Other / Beginners & Help / One more new guy on: August 26, 2012, 09:34:21 AM
Hi all!

I've been watching the forums and the bitcoinworld for a year now. And now I decided to join.

1. I just wanted to say hi.
2. I want to trade with you.
3. I want to be able to proudly say one day to my kids and to your kids:  "I created this for you" ( showing them the Earth from above ).

PS. I do drupal web programming for a living and I also know linux inside out.

If somebody has a business idea that involves IT or needs a web dev - PM me.
Or write me at faster@tormail.org

Cheers , BTC .
