Reading MPEx's response to SEC inquiries about SD has got me thinking more about decentralized securities platforms.
Even if all the crypto securities exchanges are eventually shut down or brought into compliance, how will a decentralized
platform for securities issuance and trading give us more liberty to invest what we want, when we want, and with whom
we choose? Won't the SEC just track down and shutdown the issuers themselves?
I mean, before I would want to invest in a crypto security, I'd want to know the details of the offering! This would include
most certainly the identification of the issuing companies' lead personnel. If that is a basic tenet of securities investment,
then how will a decentralized platform help the situation? Won't the governing authorities just go after the security
issuers directly?
I'm just not seeing how a grand decentralization plan for securities is going to make a real difference in my freedom to
invest in crypto securities. Any insights from the professionals around here? Thanks in advance!

Folks,
I have done well with my GPU mining in 2012/early 2013. I have not had time to
keep them running due to ASICs and other BTC related activities.
I have approximately 12,400 KHps in GPUs (not sure all are working). I honestly
don't have time to fool with them. Some need reflowed, most are just fine.
I have mobos, ram, hdds, gpus, psus. They are all caseless.
The original purchase price for all these items was over $10K.
Option A: Purchase everything for $5K worth of BTC/LTC.
Option B: I ship all this stuff to you, you mess with it, get it running, pay the
electricity, and split net mining profits with you (after electricity)
50/50. This until they are no longer profitable to run.
Litecoin is over $9/each right now.
Anyone exercising Option B will need to give personal identification and/or have
an impeccable trust rating for consideration.
All this equipment is sitting here languishing away. This is a serious offer. I am
heavily interested in finding someone in the midwest USA so that this stuff is
not too expensive to ship.

It seems to me the only logical place this can end is manufacturers selling hardware at COST PLUS 20% and in very large volumes. Mining is becoming an insanely risky conversion engine from fiat to crypto-currency. The only people that will eventually be mining will be the guys making the hardware.
There is another very quick and effective conversion engine. It is called an EXCHANGE.
Thoughts? Input?

I keep reading that perpetual mining contracts (PMCs) are a poor performing investment overall. Okay, I'll assume for sake of argument that such is true. So, given the following (not all inclusive): - An investor does not want to mine
- An investor does not have the funds to buy their own equipment
- An investor wants to take advantage of the fact that large volume purchases could lower the overall $/GHps for hardware
- An investor wants to take advantage of another site's lower hosting costs (i.e. lower electricity, security, adequate HVAC)
- An investor wants to rely on another's mining equipment expertise
What type of investment vehicle is out there and how should it be implemented? |
